If I was buying the hasbro versions I would be happy, as wave 2 deluxes are purely headmaster originals and I have no complaints about their forms.

Still on the fence with soundwave (I think the bot mode looks swell but boombox mode hurts) and alpha trion is too obvious repaint potential, I'm tempted by it but may wait for a sale.

2 Beast formers; one beast mode which hasn't had a new figure since 2000, another that hasn't had one since 2005. Mindwipe also ahs one of the most interesting transformations out of any Beastformer I've ever seen.

Fairly unique helicopter design and futuristic car. Chromedome isn't that exciting I admit, but he's here to round out the Autobot headmasters. Ia voided scourge since I have a perfectly fine Generations one already, so Highbrow will be new.

Alpha Trion is a bit off but I love the idea and design. I was a kid in the 3H Botcon era and I really wanted that alpha Trion snarl repaint, so this is satisfying.

Soundwave is less impressive now after the MP, but he's the much needed G1 style Soundwave people have been waiting 10 years for in Classics. he also rounds out the Leader scale 84 Decepticons along with his cassettes, which is cool, even if I won't get them myself.

I'm not really whining, just musing that its a shame that I'll probably never get to experience the same nostalgic joy people got from Titans return or combiner wars. I'm grateful for stuff like BW MP, but BW was primarily about the toys for me.

also just about ever BW mold(if not character) got repurposed between BW II and BW Neo in Japan, so there's precedence to the designs being used in fiction, too, at at least.

Does anyone else hate the leader size class as much as I do? Anything from legends/scout to voyager is perfect and scales well with combiners and titans while leaders throw everything out of wack. Recently it seems there isn't even any rhyme or reason with their choices either, with leader seekers and tape decks

We have all the 84 Decepticons outside of the cassettes as Leaders now. Personally, I love it, I like the Decepticons having strength in size, while the Autobots have it in numbers.

Yeah, the mold itself is good at least on mine. Everything feels solid, no floppyness. One issue though, and judging by a Astrotrain review I saw, it's unfixed in the Astro version: The HM connector is SUPER TIGHT. Like, "Gonna fucking break this guy" tight.

Just put the HM's head in backwards and it should be fine.

Its a metroplex retool, he transforms less overall (mostly lying down and splaying his legs) but his ship mode is g1 accurate, the city mode requires fan modes or else he'll fail your expectations.

Tried the Japanese Beast Wars Fighting game. A lot of II stuff, but makes sense their domestic product would be majority. Space slut is surprisingly fun to play with easymode multihit specials and amazing mobility. If this was a real game, would probably be my main.

I don't think lack of awareness is a problem at Hasbro. Your problem is Warden doesn't want to touch anything that occurred after G1/G2. And Sideways isn't going to be like Minerva or Nautica where you can use a pre-existing mold (like say HM Arcee or Brainstorm), it requires an entirely new mold.

Fuck, now I kinda want a Blaster of some description. I'm torn between the FoC Voyager (pros: actual vehicle mode, chest minion gimmick, cons: chest minions fucking suck unless you buy those Shapeways model kits, made of FoC-era plastic) and Unique Toys Soundmixer (pros: solid as fuck, turns into a boombox, cons: no minions, no proper vehicle mode, wtf is with those bits of "armour"). I'm not hugely bothered about him having an actual chest minion gimmick (I headcanon that Soundwave and Blaster can summon their minions from a pocket dimension via mini-spacebridge, thus eliminating the need for them to physically fit the cassettes inside them) and I'm not a massive GEEWUNer (My Soundwave is the Prime figure) so I'm mainly concerned with which is the better toy. TR Blaster is just too big for my liking, which is a shame because he looks cool as fuck otherwise.
