Did anyone else get screwed over during the LE Beauty and the Beast doll releases? I've read people who got charged for the cost of 5-10+ dolls on their credit cards because of an error with the checkout cart.
>>
>>5841431
The release of these LE Beauty and the Beast doll have been followed by many horror stories all over the internet like the one posted in the old thread.

There is a girl crying on facebook who got it the worse. The Disney Store website charged her cards $3000, as she kept trying to check out the Disney site would crash over and over again ,and they didn't even place an order for th doll. Now shes out $3000 and isn't even getting a Belle doll.

When she contacted Disney Store about the money they only said they didn't get the order, and that they didn't take anything from her to refund. She asked her Bank, and they told her they can't cancel the payment because they are waiting for D-store to release it . She said she knows D-Store won't release it because they have done this to her twice before. She kept sending D-Store emails, and D-Store locked her out of her account.

Images from the old doll thread that will 404 soon of the new 2016 Classic Disney princess dolls with sidekick characters.

Most Disney Stores haven't gotten all of the new dolls yet, but I believe you can get them all on their website.

>Ariel gets Flounder

>Jasmine get Abu (not her pet Rajah)

>Pocahontas comes with flit (not her friend Miko)

>Belle comes with Chip

>Sleeping Beauty comes with random generic squirrel

>Cinderella comes with Gus

>Rapunzel comes with Pascal

>Snow White comes with generic bluebird

>Merida comes with generic Bear cub

>Mulan comes with Mushu

>The Black frog princess comes with her prince frog

>Elsa comes with noseless Olaf

The males come with nothing and they put Cristoff in a new cheaper outfit.
>>
>>5841404
Agreed.
>>
>>5842592
>Merida comes with generic Bear cub

That's one of her brothers.

And I can almost guarantee you that the only reason Pocahontas got Flit and Jasmine got Abu is that Meeko and Rajah would have been too big for them to want to make them.

For me, this is one of the best limited edition dolls Disney has ever put out. I love that it's not just Cinderella "in her pink dress," but a doll set depicting a specific moment for this character: Cinderella as her dreams are being torn to shreds by Lady Tremaine. Even her solemn facial expression reflects it.

Shame that >>5841127 they gave Aurora this weird generic smile, when her face should be trance-like. At no point in this scene does she smile.

Does anyone know whats going on with Bratz right now? They came back in the summer of 2015 and now they are being clearanced out of all stores in the US. Bratz dolls that used to cost $14.99 are being old for $3.99 and $22.99 dolls are bring sold at $5. I just went to Toys R Us and all the Bratz have been taken off the shelves and have been put in a large red discount bin. I saw a two pack that I payed $37 for being sold for $9.99 in that bin. Wiki says that "Due to low sales, only two lines were produced for Fall 2016, both of which were only offered to international sellers. This lead to speculation that the Bratz were to be discontinued altogether, or they are going on another hiatus unannounced." I know anyone can edit wiki but it still worries me.

This is kinda sad news. I know they had their issues but I actually like the the new Bratz.

I don't really care for it either, but I guess they didn't really intend this line to be a Barbie/MH/EAH-style swapfest. Which is a real damn shame actually, because I think it would have been cute to have like, a Wonder Woman in Batgirl's outfit for example.

>>5846735
They said Mattel didn't care about selling fat dolls a few years back and look at Barbie now.
>>
>>5846871
Yeah, but the fat/tall/petite dolls are still girl dolls. They expanded the sizes because of the growing demand in the market for dolls which are repeatable to a variety of different groups, and the growing criticism re: Barbie (which was the reason for the expansion of Barbie into 387943 different skin colors). There isn't that sort of demand or expectation on Ken dolls because no1curr about Ken.

More Kens! More choices!

>Tad Nerdlinger
As seen on the "Big Bang Theory!" This guy loves nerdy things like comic books and computers. LOL He's such a geek! But take off his horn rimmed glasses and he becomes a hunky heartthrob that will gladly become your cuck because he's a feminist!

>Milo Yiannopoulos
Oh so right in oh so many wrong ways, Milo is here to not have sex with you! Press Milo's special action button to hear him spew alt-right rhetoric and how much he's gay for Trump! Watch as your friends seethe in outrage calling this handsome playboy, "literally worse than Hitler!"

>Young Barry, P.I.
Come take a walk on the dark side with someone that has a shade darker skin than you! It's President Barack Obama, our Lord & Savior, as seen in his younger Hawaiian days! Imagine the hours of fun as you & Barry solve murder mysteries together on Maui & stopping diamond smugglers in Niʻihau! *NOTE* Due to more plastic being used to mold Barry's larger package, MSRP is slightly higher than other Ken dolls.

Just got back from Toys R Us a few hours ago. I got pretty much everything I really wanted and could afford. I got a full set of the Snow Kissed Bratz for $17. 50. Not bad when you think that each one used to cost $29..99 just a few months ago.

Also saw the new 2016 Holiday Barbie in person. God, what a cheap, and horrible looking doll she was. Stringy, thin, and short looking hair. All of the doll heads were pinned down so tightly that their heads were all pulled upwards in the box. Her face is very simple , and barely has any paint apps at all. A cheap, tacky, plastic looking bodice. The dress is just one solid color with no details added to it at all. The price tag on the other hand was MIND BLOWINGLY high for such a simple doll.

I'm so pissed off that they didn't bother to create a new body for the Queen. Hell, she don't even have a body! By the looks of the images popping up online it seems that her body is going to be plush from the double chin down. Just like they've done with cheap $10 play dolls like Cinderellas fairy godmother in the past. Talk about taking the easy way out, and cutting corners in hopes of saving money.
These are supposed to be expensive premium dolls, not premium plus toys with plastic heads, and hands attached to plush toy bodies!

These pictures make my choice even harder. My budget only allows me to get two sets. I'm getting Alice because I'm a fan of the film, and I think the set looks cute.

I had my sights set on Belle and Gaston, but Cinderella and Tremaine look so amazing as a box set as well. You just know it's going to be the set fans will go the most. I have the Cinderella Deluxe box set so I already own a Lady Tremaine, and Cinderella set. The box set even came with a less fancy version of the pink dress. What I would be paying for would be the outfits and Tremaine's cat. Than a gain I bought the Deluxe Beauty and the Beast set so I also own a Belle and Gaston. Gaston looks like crap do to his skinny body, but Tremaine looks pretty nice for a non-designer doll.

It makes zero sense for them to have torn her dress in that box set.

Not only did they not make the tears movie accurate, but they aren't even following the events of the film correctly.
How can Lady Tremaine be shown admiring her pearl necklace while shes wearing a torn dress when the dress got torn AFTER the pearl necklace got torn off.

In the film Lady Tremaine walks over to Cinderella, and touches her pearl necklaces. The step sisters than tear off the pearl necklace followed by the dress. Lady Tremaine is never again shown making physical contact with Cinderella once her dress gets torn. She simply says good night to her from the door.

>>
>>5853521
I fucking knew thats what they were going to do the moment I saw that skin tone colored cloth under her double chin. I've see companies do this many times before, but the toys they're selling are usually cheap play line toys intended for children. How much could it have possible cost them to make an actual plastic body for her? They're charging $130 for it for Christ's sake!

>Please note that in this exclusive Alice & the Red Queen set, Alice is paired with ‘The Queen of Hearts’ from the traditional Alice in Wonderland tale. Let us not forget how badly they fucked up Cinderellas step sisters. I honestly believe that the people in charge of creating theses dolls know very little about these films or the characters. They just do a little research on them by watching the film once or twice, and get to work. I mean how could these step sister dolls reach the very last step of production without anyone ANYONE noticing that they had placed the wrong head onto the wrong dolls body.

Fucking. Disney. And of course it's the expensive "platinum" sets which aren't worth the price at all. What's doubly annoying is that there's no reason they couldn't have made Belle and Beast in "winter" outfits the platinum set, since the edition number is so low.

So I spotted this Starlight Adventures Ken in the store yesterday. At first glance, He looked so awesome that I had to pick him up. It's Kaptain Ken of Kosmos Kommand! All he needs is a jetpack, helmet, and raygun and he'd be a shoe-in for best damn doll of the year. And his colors! A subtle nod to Maxx Steele! (Soon to be in movie theaters!) But then as looked him over, I realized...

>Molded clothes.
>Plastic vest only covers the front and not the back.
>No accessories. Not even one of those hoverboards Babs & her girlfriends get.
>Shitty POA. Maybe 8 points at best with swivel shoulders and no elbow or wrist articulation.
>Hands can't hold anything, like all Babs dolls, so I can't have him hold a raygun even if I found one that could fit him.
$13 MSRP while the fashionistas dolls are $8 with better clothes. Wut?

So I put him back. I was soooo close to buying him, but Mattel's cost cutting measures held me back. As a guy who grew up with 12" Joes and Maxx Steele, I would love to see a Ken doll like this that has cross-gender appeal. (And isn't that what's in vogue right now?) But goddamnit if Mattel's jewery isn't hurting them in the long term.

Yeah, it's officially called "Flavas." Man, just look at those boy dolls. I'm getting douche chills.

Anyways the whole "Flavas" line was a disaster for Mattel. Moms didn't want their little girls buying dolls of hookers & drug dealers. Kids didn't like them because they were aggressively edgy in their urban reality tone. And ironically, Hip-hop enthusiasts denounced that the dolls were "Hip-hop by committee."

Mattel thought that the dolls' risque nature would be their selling point, ala' Bratz. But their plan backfired from them. Flavas were gone from shelves in less than a year. Several Mattel executives were fired over the disaster that was Flavas.

Personally, I find this all amusing seeing as how I love Clawdeen from MH and this Flavas shit leaves me cold.

I have them - Katty Noir and Ladybug. The male dolls have a better body type - cause they can do more. No articulation in the wrists, the feet, basic stuff in the limbs and inner thighs with a limited range of motion. In terms of what they are - the 16 bucks for them is fine -but they cant compete agaisnt the good articulation of the MH dolls.

Personally i like the outfits - but they look weird in the arms due to odd stitching. The hair on the dolls and the face ups for lady bug are so bad - i think they need to go down to 10 bucks or less to be worh it. Kitty Noir looks a lot nicer in person and i like owning him - he's worth the money that is spent for a male doll to me.

The battons, lady bug compact, purse and the fencing sword are all plain and no painted details. I know the batton that Katty comes with is harder and dull. Lady bug's compact is harder rubber but feels too soft and doesnt fit her hand/wrist well.

On both - size seems standard for the dolls.

Kitty Noir seems to be close enough to a basic male type but i dont have any males on hand to look at them. I would say he's def similar to a MH and EAH male doll - but might be slightly buffer in chest to G1 MH guys. I dont own a G2 MH male yet.

Lady Bug has slightly smaller frame then say Descendents and Stardarlings. She is on par with Ever After High bodies in terms of bust and thickness - so she probs will work well with the G2 MH figures due to their change. G1 MH is more narrow then Lady bug - so older MH stuff will not fit her and her stuff will be looser on older MH bodies. Against Barbie - i have a Made to move figure - and they seem about the same size in terms of height when the feet are flat - but Made to move barbie has i think a lil more narrowness in the chest or waist.

Well I was lucky enough to get them this morning. Scalpers were there, and armed to the teeth with extra "friends" they had brought along with them to get extra sets to sell online. Old fat greasy white car sales men types, and black ghetto scalpers who could care less about Disney dolls for the most part. The one I got looks pretty perfect . There isn't a single hair out of place.

>>

Wow, were you there, too??
The black couple brought along four of their ghetto looking family members. One of them actually had long shit locks like the image of the guy you posted. Last year they bought two of each set while checking ebay to see what they were selling for. The black guy kept calling the old hag from the Snow white box set "Ursula the witch". This year they walked in with a mob of their family members. They didn't speak to anyone, and each of them bought a set cash.
>Do you accept food stamps?
Actually you're not that fare off from the truth. One of them had an EBT (A food stamps card) in his wallet. So technically they use tax payer money to buy food so they can spend their cash on dolls to scalp. If they were fans I wouldn't care, but I hate scalpers.

I didn't end up going for Cinderella/Tremaine. I just can't get passed the rips.
>>

Seems like you're not alone. They didn't sell out online within hours the way they normally do. In fact I checked the listing out a full day later after they went live, and found that they still weren't sold out. Last year the only set that had some trouble selling out was the Peter/Hook set. I guess Disney doll collector don't enjoy buying or supporting males dolls.
The odd part is that most people I've spoken to in real life or online kept saying that the Cinderella/Tremaine set was the one they were looking forwards to the most or that it would be the only set from the line they would be buying

If the most highly anticipated, and most popular set from the line boomed what does this mean for the other three unreleased sets?
>>
>>5901917
I can see the Belle/Gaston set selling out quicker than any of the rest.

Personally I was so disappointed by the rips in Cinderella's dress. I've had the money for the set put away since they announced it would be Cinderella/Tremaine in the line-up, even before the photos. If it was a whole dress, I would have snapped it up immediately. But as neat as the concept is, I can't justify it on a $130 doll set.

I have a feeling this second set is going to lag quite a bit. We didn't even get merchandise for it, so maybe Disney has anticipated that.

I didn't have any money saved up for the Cinderella set sadly because I blew it all last month pre ordering the LE Beauty and the Beast dolls. I cut a few items from my monthly grocery bill to get the Cinderella/Tremaine, and Belle/Gaston sets. I'm not a fan of the ripped dress at all. I think the person in charge who pushed the idea should get fucking fired.
I pulled the trigger, and got it because I've passed on a few LE dolls in the past, and have payed big time for it. Plus I'm a big fan of Lady Tremaine's voice actress Eleanor Audrey. Mostly got it for her, and her cat.

I might get the Aurora/Maleficent set next month along with the Alice/Queen set IF I can manage it.

When I showed my sister the sets and asked her which one she would be interested in, she automatically said the Belle/Gaston one. I can't justify wanting the Cinderella/Tremaine set because of the actual blaring errors as good as the set looks.

Judging by all the negative reactions to her dress in this thread I wonder if even Cinderella's prince would have fallen in love with her if she had shown up to the ball in that ripped pink dress. Probably not which proves that appearance is everything , and inner beauty isn't worth jack shit in the real world.

Since >>5909514 is whining about getting back on topic, I have a question:

Why isn't there a Suicide Squad Harley Quinn Barbie doll? Matty did dolls based on BatvSupes. And it seems like anything Harley sells like gang-busters these days. But alas, no Daddy's Little Monster on the shelves. Maybe it's because her slutty outfit would get some soccer mom enraged? But there's always been controversial collectable Barbie dolls, so I don't know.

It just seems like a SS Harley would print money for Matty.

Toy deals are made months to years in advance before the movie comes out. As popular as Harley is, she'd be an easy sell. And who cares what the reviewers said? The movie made money and was better received by all than BvS. That's all that matters in the end.

I went over to check mine, and my heart dropped to my stomach as I didn't see the earring at first glance. Thankfully they were there. The quality control on these sets has always been shameful, yet they charge prime prices for them. My Snow White from last years Snow White/Old Hag set had the most horrible messed up hair. Even this year I've seen images online of sets where Cinderellas hair is all messed up on one side. I saw one set which had Cinderella's hair completely covering up her neck.

The best Elsa doll you can buy today without having to buy it from the second hand market aka scalpers would be the Disney Store classic doll. The Mattel one was shit and the Hasbro one isn't much better. If you don't care about money you can go to ebay and look for a LE Elsa doll.

If you're looking for something bigger there's a 17inch light up singing Elsa at the Disney store. They also released a large plush Elsa doll with a plastic face that would sings if you need one to cuddle with. There's a small sized version of this plush doll which isn't as awesome.
>>
Just picked up this 17" Endless Hair Kingdom Barbie doll for only $25.
She has the exact same points of articulation as the $120 17" Limited Edition Disney dolls. She even includes chest articulation. Her hair is really soft and long. Not a bad doll for $25.

If I bump into another 17" blonde Barbie doll I might pick her up for custom fodder, but for right now I like having a 17" Barbie doll, and I wont be turning her into any other character for the time being.

I got the very last Blonde one my Walmart had, and left behind about five of her black variant. Much like the possible Made To Move Barbie dolls the only ones left are the black Barbie variant at all my local stores. I've been putting off on getting her for a while, but once I noticed that she was the very last 17" blonde Barbie doll there I had to bit the bullet, and get her. You see in my area stores don't restock more white Barbie dolls as long as their are over four or more of her black variant shelf warming, and not selling. It sometimes takes over six moths for them to restock the white version if theres a bunch of the black versions taking up shelf space.

The one I got is cool, but I was shocked at how heavy this doll is compared to all the other classic dolls. I'm not even talking about just a little bit more heavier either. I handed it to my friend, and asked her if she thought the doll was heavy, and she agreed. It felt as if she was made out of metal or die-cast . I found that it wasn't the box that was weighing her down it was the doll herself. I don't know why shes so heavy. I don't know if it's because shes a curvy doll, but I've held loads of chubby dolls before, and they don't come close to how heavy this new Moana doll is . The Hasbro one isn't heavy at all, but looks like crap compared to the Disney store version.

I think I know where some of the wight is coming from. It's probably her plump rubber legs. Disney store male dolls are heavier because their legs are thicker than the princess rubber legs, and since they are made out of solid rubber this could be the issue. Funny thing is Moana is actually a little heavier than the male dolls.

Eh. There aren't many quality customizers who would do even one custom doll with a richly done gown like that for $130, much less 2. And that's assuming they even offer commissions freely, since most people who are great at customizing dolls only do them for themselves or friends, or charge hundreds of dollars and take months.

People prefer to buy official, premade, more attainable collectible merchandise. Unfortunately Disney Store's prices have gone up while their quality and quality control has gone down. Compare the first LE 17" Snow White, who was sold for $99 to the $500 LE Cinderella wedding doll. They know people will buy the dolls, regardless of quality, regardless of price.

Didn't have time to post this morning, but I picked up the Belle/Gaston set, and the Beauty and the Beast LE dolls.

I was really iffy about the Belle/Gaston set since it looked so basic, but it really looks nice on my shelf.
The wired thing is that I wasn't expecting to love the 17" Beast doll as much as do. In fact I like him more than the Belle doll. His head is massively huge, and he looks way better than he did in any of the images Disney released. His box sadly is the same as Belles. I had hoped they would have given him an original box as they did with Gaston, but I feel really lucky to have been able to bring home what I did today. I really hope that others who are after these dolls will be able to get them at a fair price.

Heres a photo of what he looks like in the box, but trust me when I say this image doesn't do him justice. He's way taller and has a larger than life presence in person.

I would say its 100% controversy/lawsuits they're afraid of. Compare SS Harley to the most recent comic villain they've made, 2013's retro Catwoman. In Suicide Squad, there's no question, those are bad guys. They're being used to fight crime yeah, but they've done some fucked shit and you can tell. But for whatever reason every non-comic-reading woman out there puts Catwoman in the hero category. She's elegant, sleek, her suit may be form fitting but its fully covering, and even when she is a bad guy her crimes are largely jewel theft, cat themed artifacts and such and often waved off by her saying she's donating some of it to animal charities. Plus she's (usually) banging Batman, so how bad could she really be? Harley though, she's a mess. Skank pants, tattered shirt, prison tats, messy makeup, smashes heads with a baseball bat, has a relationship with a psychopath.

Plus... ok. Pretend you're a soccer mom, knowing jack shit about comics/movies that aren't Disney or romcoms. You feel this pressure to keep your little princess totally innocent and shield her from all the worlds wrongs. You take her to the toy store to pick out a new Barbie. As you walk down the aisle you pass the collector area (which idk about your local but at my TRU the BvS dolls are at like 4 year olds eye level) and your little girl grabs a brightly colored box and says she wants it. But what you see is a clown slut with prison tats, trashy clothes, a weapon, and the word "SUICIDE" on the box in neon lettering. Youd be posting that shit all over Facebook and making petitions before the TRU employees can even process your insane demonic choir of demands for a manager.

Seriously, I've been putting some thought into this. I've been leaning towards the DS classic doll for the face sculpt, but I'm still not wild about the slightly better than average articulation.

So in that respect, I've been thinking about getting a MTM Barbie & a Mattel Elsa and do a head swap. Matty Elsa's are getting hard to find, but I may luck out at a thrift store. Is there any other standard store that still sells the Matty version? Maybe in a drugstore's forgotten toy aisle? I don't know. I'm going to have to hunt.

But most RAH's are in the $150~$200 price range. That's pretty expensive, but both RAH Elsa & Anna have a MSRP of a whopping $280. That's well over the price of most Hot Toys & Sideshow's premium 1/6 scale toys.

A close up of Elsa's damaged goods. It looks like she's a victim of a horrible car crash. I wonder what I can do with these damaged spare body parts? Maybe use the hands to replace some handless used MH dolls I have?

"Off with her head!" Anna squeals in naked delight. Olaf dutifully removes his queen's head from her broken body. With his stick hands he fondles Elsa's unconscious face like a lover. Kira looks on in horror. Not for the gruesome scene unfolding before her, but the realization that her life is almost at an end.

"And now off with your head!" Anna's voice is shrill as she points to Kira. "For the royalty!"

"Yes." Kira replies in a monotone mumble. She always knew that as a MTM doll, it was her fate to have her head to be replaced with another doll head. At least the beheading will be done by her own hands and not by another.

BTW, there was a massive glue blob sitting on the end of the head stalk. Eww.

"Look how pretty you are, dear sister!" Anna chortles while holding up a massive mirror. Elsa turns around in front of the mirror, inspecting her new body.
"The skin tone is a hair darker than my own, but it's the closest color to my own on the market. And it's only noticeable when looking hard & close. But any minor skin tone quibbles are moot when I have so much more articulation! Snow Golem! Fetch me my queenly attire!"
Olaf says nothing as he turns to fetch his queen's clothes, only to rub his carrot nose in phallic delight.

I'm not that big a fan of her face, but even as a child I've always wanted a Belle doll in her peasant dress, and this dress is lovely. It's really hard to find a peasant Belle doll since the yellow dress is the most common find in stores. With this set I get to add another set to my growing collection, and I get a doll I've wanted to own for over two decades. Kinda kills two birds with one stone.

"Hahaha! With my new articulated body, my ice powers have multiplied in power! Far too long have I sit broken, neglecting my kingdom!
"Out you foreign devils who refuse to assimilate to our ways! Out whores of unnatural hair colors who espouse justice while taking away freedoms! Out you self emasculated eunuchs who are not fit to be called men!
"No amounts of 'thank you Winter-Chan!' can save you now! Winter is coming and so is your Queen!"

As for Gaston I'm impressed with him as well. I could be mistaking, but his arms look as if they have definition and they also look muscular. They might have created a new mold for him after all. I'd have to see a naked picture of the doll to know for sure though.

I've seen it. I want it, but if I can't find it in stores I probably will never own it. I love the molded plastic hair vs actual doll hair. Never a strand out of place, and you never have to worry about it drying out,and falling out over the years.

So that's the end of my adventures in head swapping. I may still get a DS Elsa doll, as I really like the face. Plus the hair & the dress are more iconic to the character. The Mattel head has a "alien grey" look to her that's slightly unnerving. I've seen some good redone face-ups of the Mattel head. Maybe I'll pop her head off again and try redoing the eyes when I get the DS Elsa.

But for now this is a great Elsa to put in funny poses with. One that I didn't need to spend $280 on. And hey, I got a crazy Anna & Olaf too!

go on....

>Matty Elsa's are getting hard to find
Thats a good thing though. I returned both of my Mattel versions the moment I was able to get the Disney Store ones in 2014.

> I may luck out at a thrift store.
Why would you want to ? Even the over sea knock off companies in 2014 from chin use the Disney Store face mold to produce their knock offs because the face molds are superior.

>Maybe in a drugstore's forgotten toy aisle?
Even Drug stores have dumped the Mattel versions. My local drug store only carries the Hasbro versions.

Here's a few other over seas knock off photos using the Disney store molds.

Can you not find the Disney store version in your area?

>I just found this Anna/Elsa gift set at my local salvage store for $8.
That is pretty lucky. I've seen out of box or in box dolls at thrift stores but I don't believe I've ever seen anything like that before. I'm not a fan of the Mattel versions, but for $8 I might have picked those up if I had some extra cash on me.

Here's a side by side of Matty Anna, and Hasbro Anna.

I still like the Hasbro Disney dolls more than the Mattel ones, but yeah she does look like Wendy's. Well played, good sir.

>Her torso is split along the seams.
> Her right boob is crushed into her chest.
>boob is crushed
Who the heck was playing with these Sid the sadist from Toy Story?

I know you were only after the clothing and heads, but those dolls aren't safe to give to a small child. The thought that that their goal was to sell those to a small child is disturbing. I'm not sure they really should have been trying to sell those at all. Still a nice find for what you were after.
