Why
the fuck
is this so expensive for a vinyl toy??
What is the best Shin Godzilla figure atm? Preferably tall and no articulation
I know the movie is going to be bad
ass
It's expensive because it's a highly desired prize figure. It also looks really good, and is pretty much your only option for a good representation (for now).
If you don't want articulation, just wait until the inevitable X-Plus. Otherwise, go SHMA or NECA (just wait till reviews are out).

It's the A prize fro a lucky draw distribution, so numbers are limited and you can only get it via scalpers if you're not actually participating in the draws.

Nothing is "better" than the replica of the actual model made by the designer.

Prizefigurefag reporting in, the price is bloated to hell and back because of 2 main reasons: hype for the movie and the fact that it was made by a renowned kaiju sculptor.
Even while being the A prize it shouldn't have surpassed the 5k yen mark on auction sites but resellers bloated the price since before it was released, the rest was sheer intertia. The only time I've seen something like this was with the LoveLive movie figures, again from Banpresto.
Like >>5839853 says, wait for the Xplus instead as it's going to cost nearly the same; there's also one from Sega coming in the next couple of weeks (I think it's around the same size as this) but after seeing how insane the prices for this fucker are I expect it to be quite expensive too, perhaps some 3k yen average as people is going to use it as substitute for the Banpresto. Other option can be the large movie monster series vinyl, but it's not as detailed.
Personally, I'm waiting for more info on NECA's, with some luck we might get a regular 6 inch and a 24 incher like they did with G14.
someone do kaiju general cuz it went rip
