>This item is toward those who do not come to the venue

So Dark Rockman is going to be 4,500 yen at e-Capcom on the 25th at 3:00 AM CDT tomorrow night. Am I understanding this correctly? Do I need a middleman, or should I just wait and see what Mandarake will want for theirs?

Keep an eye on the webstore, just in case. http://gentinel.net/en/

They did seem aware of the western demand for Saito Style, so maybe they won't completely screw us over. Maybe?

Anyone interested in this X? Honestly, I would have preferred to get the Mega Man leads who have never gotten any figures first.

By the way, which character would a ZX figure be likely to be? If I understand correctly the female version seems more popular with fans, right?
>>
>>5814060
I am. Do you know how tall it will be? I'm not sure if it will scale well with D-arts Zero though. I know X is supposed to be shorter than him so if he has the right height then I would seriously consider getting him.

If they do a Vile I'm all over that.
>>
>>5814131

4 inches/10 cm. D-arts X is about 5 inches so this will probably look pretty far out of scale with both D-arts X stuff and the .Exe and Classic stuff Sentinel is putting out.

With a closer and clearer photo, the reasoning for the "Lite" addition to the 4 Inch-Nel title becomes apparent: no articulation.

Yahoo JP, Mandarake, Amazon sellers, or Evilbay are my guesses. I already checked those out earlier and only found a couple on the 'bay for $100+. I've also been checking Gentinel just to be safe.
>>
>>5815632
I don't understand NY. Most of the time, the more sought after items sell out instantly. Not "very fast", not "in less than a minute" just instantly. It's not listed then as soon as the stuff appear online it's sold out. I suspect them to presell them to their "VIP customers" or something.

It ups the amount of health you get back. If you're using a folder based around multi-hit combos, she's better than a recovery since you can easily do 200+ damage with Roll3 whether you need the health or not. BN3 with Attack+30 does 210, BN5 with A+30 and full synchro does 420, and BN6 upped her base power, doing 360 with just a synchro.

Beyond fucking excited for more Battle Network stuff from this line. Never actually played the games, but I watched the cartoon and collected all the figures as a kid. Really hoping they'll do all the double souls, as they were some of my favorite toys growing up. Lan and Megaman's cross fusion, as well as Protoman would be awesome too.
>>
>>5816422

>>
>>5814265
Same here. I missed the original release.

I still want a poseable Sigma rather than statueshit. It might not be well-balanced but that didn't stop some company from making M.Bison.
>>
>>5816554
Absolutely. 2 is where the series began to refine its formula and 3 is amazing. 4 is crap, 5 is okay, and 6 is as good as 2. It retrospect 1 is really boring in comparison to what came afterwards.

So instead of actually playing the game for yourself to get a proper opinion, you just decided to follow a shitty LP that wastes way too much time whining about the poorly translated script and straight up lies about shit like glitches that can't actually happen to make things seem worse than they really are?

Christ, it legitimately makes me sad how pigheaded Mega Man fans are. Not the only time this has happened too.
>>
>>5834877
Not him, but,
>story is short with barely anything threading all the way through it
>bad translation
>because the plot is so short, the other virus versions, doublesouls, and tournament scenarios are locked behind replaying the game two more times
>all the repetition makes the game feel like a chore
>some of the minigames just aren't fun, like Metalman's
>Molokos
>that one circlegun/icestage/whiteweb spider random encounter in Undernet 6
>certain pre-existing chips are now "Evilchips" which you can't use without a darksoul
>the green mystery data in Shademan's V3 battle
>way too much purple data for a game so short, which you need to buy unlockers for before starting the next higher difficulty
>after playing the game three times, you're locked out of most of Black Earth if you didn't get Shademan's basic chip before going completely darksoul, which defeats the purpose of SoulCleanse being kept in the deepest part
>began the series trend of cutting content up between versions(BN3 Blue/Black was originally a patch of White with Bowlman, Shadow Style, and new chips as a purchase incentive)

I didn't need someone else's review to type that out. It really is objectively a bad game.
>>
>>5832965
It's opinions, so everything's fine. Everyone I've seen has justified their opinions of that game well. Some really like it for introducing the Soul system, which definitely helped make it feel more Megaman-y and looked real cool, while some hated that it took away the Style system which was already set up and doing fine.
Didn't feel it was crazy good, but didn't feel it was crazy bad, and it feels like it's because of how strong 3 was before. I honestly had fun playing it, but disliked trying to 100% it because of just the weirdness of doing that. 4.5 though, still my favorite in the entire series.

Overall I'm really happy with him. The poseability is top-tier. The hair does hit on the backpack a little, but you can pull the neck out a little to overcome this. It's actually easier to swap the faces if you take the head off first, since you have to wiggle it out while pulling down.

The shoulders get a little funny if you raise the arms all the way up. They're connected at an angle for cross-chest articulation, so you have to use all the outward movement to keep them off the head. I didn't even notice until you asked, since it's not required for natural poses.
>>
>>5845340
There's some unevenness in the panel lines, but it's clean enough otherwise. The whole figure is painted barring maybe the flesh tone, and it's mostly a smooth, even finish. I say mostly because there's still things like faint mold lines and maybe 3 small dust-bumps.

The worst paint-related problem was probably a small hair that was partially painted over on the back of the head. I pulled it off and it left a barely noticeable line. I've had similar happen with Transformers so I'm not shocked. I'm guessing it was an airborne arm hair, which isn't reasonably preventable unless you make the workers take a bath in Nair.

Rockin' Action was a special case when it came to joint breakage.

The Doublesoul line is solid with the exception of wobbly waist swivels, moderately sloppy paint, and an off-center face. At first I thought those were QC issues related to the Sonokong reissues, but I scored a Falzar-cross a few months back and it's identical quality-wise.

The DX Rockman and Blues figures are pretty good. They're close to Marvel Legends size with better articulation and a fair amount of accessories. Blues is definitely the better figure of the two since Rockman's face is kinda flat and the Spikey and Mettaur he came with kinda suck, especially in comparison with the Bombboy and Metfire. Really, the only reason to buy DX Rockman after the Sentinel figure is for the weapons. Yo-Yo and SuperVulcan are two of my favorite chips, and you can't go wrong with having the only toy representation of the Life/Dreamsword. But even the plunger tooth on the SuperVulcan doesn't want to clear the gear teeth with enough force, so you have to hold it down and spin it with your finger.

As for the full Battle Plaction model kits, I don't think I can recommend them. I only have Shademan and he's really, really not worth the $20 I paid. He's too short to scale with any Megaman figures except for maybe those little PVCs Mattel made. The articulation is limited to the point of lacking knees and having a swivel neck. The parts really, really did not want to fit together for some reason and I ended up breaking a few pegs trying to pull the halves back apart to fix that. If you want to get really nitpicky, his feet are hollow, the toes don't close, the bat launcher pegs into a gaping hole in the wing, and pretty much all the details are old paper stickers including the red of the wings. I have a prebuilt Metalman on the way, but he looks like a more salvageable figure.

>>
>>5845270
I love how flawlessly he pairs up with the Rockin' Action figures and is acceptable to pair with the Doublesouls.

man I wish I could get these things, but they're so prohibitively expensive (the style changes and Doublesouls I mean. maybe I've been looking in the wrong places?)
>>
>>5851360
He's nicely articulated and doesn't seem too fragile beyond the plastic hair and weapons. The hair can fall off sometimes when you're handling it, but that's because it just pegs in. No waifubots, sorry.

>>5851514
The doublesouls weren't too expensive until recently. Sonokong licensed them for a Korean release, and there were sellers asking between $15 and $20 per figure until the stock began to dry up.

The style changes are something you might want to pass on unless you're okay with painting and installing some of the replacement joints I made on Shapeways. The plastic Bandai used became really brittle after a few years and began crumbling for most people. If you're familiar with Gold Plastic Syndrome, the plastic is drying up and falling apart in the exact same way. Even with replacement elbows, knees, etc;... the torso halves and neck can even crack or bust, though that's rarer.

That said, if you're fine with a little repair work you can occasionally catch them on Mandarake for varying prices. They put up a Normal Style about a month ago for only $15 and instantly sold it, while the style changes seem to be $25 minimum. The last two waves, Blues & Forte and ElecGuts & Clear Saito Style command the most money if you can track them down, which you'd have more luck with on Yahoo Japan Auctions through a middleman like Buyee.

Just got my Dark Rockman, I don't know if I really like this figure. His knees are fiddly as fuck, like the other anon said, but I didn't realize just how terrible it was going to be. Which is odd, because most of his other joints are super tight--kind of scary for such a tiny figure. I've felt like I was going to break him a few times now.

The peg in his right elbow where he can change his hand is too tiny or something, because you have to be super gingerly to get it in there, and even when you do it's prone to falling out at the slightest movement.

His neck also has pretty bullshit articulation; his backpack and hair prevent him from looking up, and he can't really look down that well.

Right now I'd give it like a 5/10, maybe 6/10. Fixing the knees might bump him up a bit, because they're really shit.
>>
>>5872709
If either of the thigh swivels are stuck, my solution was to carefully pop the leg off and pull at the overlap with my fingernail.

It sounds like quality control is varying from figure to figure. The joints on mine, barring that one floppy knee, aren't too tight or loose after unsticking a couple of stuck ones. The arm stays in fine as well.

As for the neck, you can kinda get around that limitation by sliding the neck posts out a little. They're just long, straight posts instead of balljoints or mushroom pegs.

Not him, but it seems like this is the second time you've said that. Calm down and wait for the reviews of classic Rockman to start coming in before declaring the sky is falling. For all we know the delayed release might be due to the flaws being caught early on.

Also, DR was a Wonderfest exclusive, so they were probably rushing them out the door as fast as they could. It could very well be the first production run of the mold.
>>
>>5875527

This is my first time posting here
>>
>>5814060
What I'm wondering is it going to be the same size as Rockman, since the line is called 4inch-nel, or is it going to be properly scaled to Rockman?
>>
>>5872709
For what it's worth, mine came through with only one joint issue (ab crunch frozen) and a slight scrap of metal sticking out the end of one of the pins. Agreed on the arm pin being way too small, though, and I can't fucking get the face off to switch (and I'm not experimenting on Dark Rockman; that can wait until the cheaper vanilla one comes in).

Gotta say, I'm still happy. I overpaid for this exclusive version, but this is absolutely hands-down the best EXE figure we're ever going to get.

It's also good to see they're not just doing the "Classic, X, Zero, Zero-series Zero, dead" that all the other lines have done. Maybe we'll finally get something from ZX? Maybe?
>>
>>5875605
I don't know if you noticed, but there's instructions on how to face-swap on the lid flaps underneath the the top flap at the to of the package. You just gotta' remove Rockman's ear circles and then it should make taking the face out a bit easier.

Much more than SAL.

Last time I payed ~$30 for DHL, but I got my package in like two days. I have a few of these still and my god be careful.
I bought them off the BST forever ago and the guy BS'd me on the condition so when i got them in and touched the Teal colored one his elbow joints literally disintegrated into pieces.
Same with an arm from one of the others.

Luckily the Elec, Fire and another are fine.
But now I got 1 with two broken elbow joints and 1 that only has one arm.

It's Sentinel's typical stand for their figures. I think the idea behind it originally was to eventually include like little cards with scenery to go underneath but they never went through with it (except for on the e-capcom Monster Hunter figures they did).

I think its worth it for $30. If you can't get that other new X figure or are hunting something more faithful I'd say its a go. X and Vile seemed to have the fewest Q/C snafus of the 4 X/Classic D-arts I have.

Is there a specific type of paint that can be used to paint over the metal pins?

Nah, they all have that issue. I scraped together almost the whole line in the past year and the only one who doesn't appear to have cracking is Protoman. I made some replacements on Shapeways, sanded them smooth, and painted them the correct colors.

Some of them are really difficult to get because people usually binned them when they broke or just left them in a drawer to collect dust. You'll have to check Mandarake religiously and/or use the japanese secondhand sites in the Buyee middleman network.

I just checked Mandy and they have 3 of the sets. Unfortunately that's because they've sat on those for a while and the prices are out of date. They do list them occasionally for prices in the 1500-3000y range, but they sell out fast. If they list any they'll show up under a search for "ロックマン". For Yahoo.jp and other marketplace sites you'll want to search specifically for "ロックマン ロッキン".

>>
>>5898336
Very much appreciate the info, I'll keep an eye out for it. Not sure how they attached it or how it could be, I don't have the figure yet. I'd assume it isn't a very secure connection though.
>>
>>5897871
I believe the idea was so that you could insert images under there.

I've seen the EXE figure displayed with a printout under there to make it look like a tile for the BN games.

>>

I usually slid something thin and flat inbetween the joint and the rubber, then used it to pry the rubber over one end of the plastic pin. The other end just pulls out from there.

If the joint was already shattered I'd push the pieces out with a toothpick and use my fang teeth to pop one end of the pin out(one on the head of the pin, the other on the unpainted side of the rubber). There's probably a better way to do it, but that worked for me.

As for getting the pin back in, you can either shave a little rubber out of the holes or you can heat the rubber with hot tap water and force it through.

Just got my Rockman and I gotta say he is great!
Probably my favorite figure in general to date.
No loose joins, paint apps are pretty much perfect on my figure, and posea ility is outstanding.
Unlike other figures that I have with a lot of joints, he's not fiddly at all when posing.

Honestly, the only negative would be the connecting piece of his elbow joint, it's a thin rectangle instead of a cylinder, strange choice.
It looks flimsy but it's not.

how do you un bend these bends? was it hot water or warm water...

me too for non-meme reasons. Whenever i play with my D-arts mega man, i do that thing where he touches a bad guy robot and copies their ability. still have the old RS Mega man from ebay too.
>>
Got in Dark Megaman and the only issue seems to be his left leg is a bit on the loose side but everything is in order. Paint apps are solid with a little silver being painted out of the line. I was a little unsure on the base seeing how small he is but I can imagine the setups if more display option come about with all the spacing on the side.

Water is a bad idea in this case. It'll rust the pins. Try a hair dryer.

Maybe but the articulation is really nice and what was done with the shoulder movement was a solid idea.
>>
>>5903403
Mine is like this too but I haven't tried anything yet. I think you can heat the hair up with hot water, bend them straight, and quickly run cool water back over them.

Guess that's nice for people in that area but shit another run and its still event exclusive?
