It's lesser quality (no viking braids, no rooted eyelashes, cheaper fabric) and it's nice for there to be a version available for kids so they don't ruin a nice doll, and for collectors who can't afford after market prices. Saw the Welcome to Monster High line at Target today. The budget line with no joints looks awful, I also don't like that it's the $9.99 price that we used to pay for the jointed dolls either. Skip.

The regular line (they had Cleo, Clawdeen, Lagoona, then 2 'deluxe' Draculauras) is really cute and I'm not sure if that's a bad or good thing. I didn't buy them because I picked up Isi and a Gloom and Bloom Jinafire on clearance instead.
