ITT toys that would never pass safety standards today

I'm fairly certain a lot of Spawn figures would need their spikes blunted down, but these MAC figures are really nasty when it comes to sharp points. Witchblade and Kenneth Irons both have this nasty chunk of random spikes that are sharp enough to stab someone with. It wasn't like they were sold as "collectibles" either, I know TRU carried these figures.
>>
TRU still carries NECA/McFarlane shit that has pointy/sharp/small parts.

They would just be labeled adult collector toys. TRU sells collectables. So does WM and Target.

Many '80s toys don't pass today's standards. I noticed the GI Joe X-30 missiles on the Target exclusive re-issue had dull tips on the missiles where-as the original were very pointy.
>>
I thought all toys had to pass safety inspections even if labeled as "adult collectible", but apparently not.

Just so you know, sharp pointy ends can be placed on toys made for kids over 3 years old, as long as they're not made of METAL or GLASS

Wait why wouldn't this be allowed

Maybe it had something to do with the chunk of Uranium that came in the set. Radiation Poisoning and Cancer, fun for all ages!
>>
>>5734449
>>5731708
the amount in the kit wasn't harmful. No more radiation than a 2000's cell phone. The kit went off the market mainly because it just didn't fucking sell well when you could make things burn and explode with other science kits. This one simply was not fun.
>>
>>5734449
My stepfather told me about this set of cobalt glasses his mom had back in the 60s. Really neat that they glowed blue and all from the radiation, but it was the Cold War, things were weird and unsafe.
