They are really great figma, I love that their scissor blades can combine.
Take extra care when posing Satsuki, the antenna on her head are made from quite a hard plastic and are very delicate.

Can you use any other hands on the old style figmas that had the ball on the end of the hand? I have a saber casual, and one of the hands, the right fist, broke when I first tried to take it out if the hand tree.

Dip the hand tree into warm water for some time and try taking them out while warm. PVC turns soft with heat. Do the same when swapping hands but be more careful since breaking a peg inside a figure will turn out to be more of an ass pain. You can also sand the ball pegs some for easier swapping just not too much.

Problem with many of the older figs are joint fragility.

The Figma is more durable, but the sculpt is mushy shit, breasts are missing paint, and the paint is really sloppy. The knees also are shit because they are not double jointed, so there is no kneecaps.
I love Guyver, but the Figma is mediocre as fuck. I sold mine the week I got it.

The problem with the Guyver figma is that the test pics looked amazing, the head was the most on-point sculpt yet seen in a figma. And the production version was sadly nowhere near that level due to whatever reason. Which was very very sad.

The paint isn't sloppy, the only "mushy" part of the sculpt is the head, like I said, and who the FUCK expects double jointed knees on a Figma? GSC don't work that way.

The paint is fine, on par with most figma. Again, anons are just butthurt that it isn't the glorious shining god they saw in the promo pics.

It's still a solid Figma and definitely worth buying.

The black paint washing is very much sloppy as hell, dude. It doesn't need to match the promos but get some damn standards.
And most Figmas don't have paint washes, either. In terms of paint it's definitely weaker in comparison to the average release, as MF can't do washes for a damn.

And no, you idiot. I wasn't expecting the figure to have double jointed knees, I was just merely pointing out that one of the Figmas' problems (especially in comparison to the older MF releases) is because it only uses singular design, which doesn't work for characters with obvious kneecaps. Guyver isn't the only character who suffers from the joint design.

The Figma has a lot of issues (forgetting to mention the size and proportion of the head as well). It is not a bad figure but it has many notable problems.

My biggest complaint is the figure itself is mediocre from an engineering sculpt perspective and it has nothing to do with the design. The awkward as fuck looking hips, diaphragm only joint, probably no ass technology and two faces nearly identical.

Also the shading on the face will probably be a nightmare since Max Factory has never once delivered consistent shading. Sure they have happy accidents like the Giant Warrior, Pyramid Head or Bubble Nurse but it's still not consistent, just those designs worked well with random variation.

Compared to Motoko it's a joke engineering wise and sculpt wise.

Thing is Bruce Lee got shown off then shelved for a while. The first Samus (in her suit) was released July 2012, figma Lady was released July 2013. while the neck is conected to the body via a balljoint, the head is a separate piece to the neck, and is conected via a figma joint. as long as zero suit samus neck joint is conected to the heads (like thinke for example), headswapping it to the varia suit is possible.

Satsuki could pull off all the poses I'd expect her to just fine, especially for a figma, who have never been as highly articulated as other import lines. They always favor form over articulation.

As for the face sculpt, I agree, not looking particularly great, but I'm reserving judgement on that till release.

For the metroid bit I agree. I'm glad I have the statue to pose her with the one that comes with it, but that shouldn't be a requirement. They went with strange accessory choices again. Hopefully the Prime Version comes with missiles instead of two set of generic beams. And the articulation is matter of preference. There was no way to giver some waist movement without looking intrusive. I don't have Satsuki, but my Ryūko wasn't too bad for posing so I assume ZSS will be about the same.

Well its a newer thing they do with almost every new figma release. So eventually if the line continued it would not be weird if most figma had exclusive parts.

That being said most of the exclusive parts have not been as cool as a base like that. He probably doesn't even have much to him beside some extra hand parts so it would be odd for the base to be exclusive.

I could see Femto egg being a special/exlusive figure bonus though.
