please tell me Nico is going to have a normal hand swap.

I want to get her but it being past on post Arena is just some serious monkey paw shit.
>>
"based on", not past.

not sure how I managed that one.
>>
>>5614541
Not a Marvel collector for various reasons but I want that Dormammu. That's gonna be the BAF isnt it.
>>
>>5614559

Id presume as much, yes.
>>
>>5614559
Yeah. They just released a Dormammu that was pretty similar in a comic con exclusive boxset last year, so a BAF with a few minor changes is the only way thy can mass release the figure without shitting on everyone who bought that boxset.
>>
>>5614541
I wouldn't count on alternate hands since it comes with a staff. I can't think of any female Marvel Legends that came with alternate hands lately, other than Black Widow.
>>
So is it possible to put the Legends Thanos head on the Select?
>>
>>5614568

Damn. Cuz I really like Nico but hate hate HAAAAAAAAAAATE what they've been doing to her lately.
>>
>>5614541
are both the new spidey figure new bucks ? I feel like the regular one is new, and miles seems to be, too. Do we have other pictures of them ?
>>
It's too much to hope that the Deluxe Marvel Legends figures will result in a properly articulated MCU style Spider-man figure, isn't it?

Yeah, they're on a new teenage boy buck. They look to be more or less just as posable as other recent Spideys, with the exception of not having butterfly joints, which I'm still kind of disappointed in but will be getting both regardless.

>>5614541
>>5614568
Normally I'd say there's no chance, but I dunno, the Iron Fist from the same wave has swappable translucent forearms, so there's precedent for that to possibly be the case here. I imagine if she did they'd have shown it, though.

It also makes me worried about the Ultimate Spider-Men. They're not shown with any alt hands, either, but I'm really hoping they come with all the same hands other recent Spideys have.
>>
>>5614614
yeah thanks, I've researched a bit, and also saw an MCU scarlet witch, I hope she's not the next Spider-gwen... That miles looks pretty cool, and more fun than the ASM one.
>>

Kek, nevermind. Size is too different

Sooooo I'm tempted to do the Onslaught BAF, but I only like Cap Wolf and Tasky.

Id even take her new pants costume at this point. But seriously please have a no pants variants.
>>
How much does it usally cost to buy the baf pieces separate? I think Dormmamu is cool but I don't wanna buy a bunch of other figures just to get him.
>>
>>5614847

Nico is probably gonna get scalped to hell. Just tossing that out there now.
>>
>>5614847
You can usually find them on ebay for around ten bucks more or less, depending on which figure they came from. The ones from case doubles are cheap, while the REAL shelfwarmers will be more, oddly enough. I just ended up buying a couple figures from the rhino and green goblin waves for their pieces because the prices were so close to retail.

>>5614849
Really, I've never read runaways, is she popular? The female figures can go either way, but I figured her for one of the pegwarmers of her wave.
>>
>>5614868
>Really, I've never read runaways, is she popular?

She's one of the more popular teen c list heroes out there Id say. That said I don't know how a lot of the fans are gonna react to the witch arm. Let's just say that particular change to the character was not received well by the long time fans.

Ill probably still get but her but personally what I really want are some New X-men figs. Would kill for a Surge.

Rockslide would make a killer BAF.

>Scale detail on limbs
>Clothing wrinkles on torso

Is... is hasbro finally learning how to sculpt bodies that actually have cloth on them?

Their best looking figures are usually the ones that actually look like their wearing clothes. Ghost Rider, Nova, Star Lord, now this Hob Goblin
Hope they keep it up
>>
>>5614908
Glad those faggots couldn't add that kind of detail when classic Captain fucking America was being drafted up. Yessir, gotta love Hasbro.
>>
Is it worth picking up a couple of these for a 6 inch display?
>>
>>5614924
If you can get them for $10 or less apiece, maybe. They don't have any weapons so they're kind of shitty in that regard, but I guess you could find any old sci-fi guns to give them.
>>
>>5614924
Those feet...
>>
Well guys, im gonna do it. Im getting rid of all my marvel legends that arent part of my main groups (spiderman, avengers, gotg). Moneys tight and im atarting to get overwhelmed by my collection.
Once i get everything together ill most likely post the list here before bst. Nothing too special though, i think the most valuable one is gonna be doctor doom

>i think the most valuable one is gonna be doctor doom
Doom is valuable? The Ronan/Epic Heroes one? Yeesh, talk about a desperate market.
>>
>>5615026
Yea, got him for $15 at my lcs a few years back and he goes for around $50 nib now. If you get the chance look up some of your older legends. I was surprised
>>
If I see a figure at retail, potentially on sale, and sell the figure but keep the BAF piece, is there any market for that at all?

Like there's some on sale now at walmart with Ultron and I still need some pieces for him, but I don't care at all about the figures.
>>
>>5615777
It's called ebay, and thousands of idiotic people do that with Marvel Legends. After shipping costs and listing fees and ebay's percentage cut, selling a loose figure that retailed for $20 will net you roughly $7 on average, which means you paid $13 for a BAF piece and are losing on the deal. A completed BAF, if purchased separately piece by piece, shouldn't cost more than roughly $8 per item.

Only fools play into the figure trade.

Not to rain on your parade but that torso with the clothing wrinkles is reused from the HB wave Doctor Strange.

I'll admit though, I'm glad they gave us sculpted Goblin scales. I wasn't expecting that. They probably only did so because there are so many damn Goblins out there they could reuse those scaled arms a lot but it was still nice of them.

So Marvel General, I'm setting up my Marvel bookcase in the spare room. Should I put Sentry on the villains shelf or the Avengers shelf? I could go either way, and they both have about the same amount of figures.

I'm torn.
>>
>>5616363
I always took that figure as his villain version T B H

It does look that way, I totally agree. I had the old Toy Biz one at some point (short hair, unfortunately) and it was just... really bad.

>>
>>5616572
That's a good idea. But the pool of x-men villains is so small that my Daken goes on that shelf.

Put that one on the villians shelf, and the bearded toybiz one on the avengers shelf.
>>
>>5616616
>>5616279
I'm not gonna lie, I'd pick up a full wave of Legends any day of the week for $10 each. That's the perfect price point for them. Even $15 is a bit much. The $20 just isn't worth it to me so I only pick up a few here and there for each wave.
>>
Is the Toybiz Bullseye any good? He actually looks pretty solid, even by modern ML standards, and I'm sure I can find some accessories for him.
>>
>>5616790
$10 for modern Legends when you can swing it feels great. Personally, I'm cool with $15 and that's the price I usually start impulse buying at- $20 is a little steep to justify doing things like buying characters I don't care about for BAF parts or for completion's sake.

Picked up Venom and Jack O'Lantern for $15 yesterday, and for that price, I really like the both of them.

What are people's thoughts about Gwenpool here? I actually like that she's technically written as a character of her own (basically she's a Gwen but not actually Gwen Stacy at all) but I absolutely fucking hate how much of a cashgrab her entire conception is.

Pic somewhat related since I can easily see Hasbro making her at some point.
>>
>>5616247

It's sad they have to get to this scale before giving him proper fucking toes.
>>
>>5616440

If it's anything like other huge figmas it won't be able to stand under it's own weight and they have a joint system that's not very friendly to future or nail polish.

>Look how fast the turnaround was for Spider-Gwen. Gotta strike while the iron is hot!
Fuck you're right.

I think the sad part is, I actually don't mind the thought that was put into making her her own character, but then you ought to wonder at some point why the fuck she's even a "Gwen" and knockoff "Deadpool" when she has literally fuck-all to do with either two aside from Marvel using both names for the sake of a quick and easy cashgrab.

jealeous of those suit wrinkles though. Wish Hasbro would give us a 6" spiderman with suit wrinkles. EVERY character should have atleast some subtle suit wrinkles.

Yeah taskmaster and scourge are badass, it's a well balanced wave, 3 villains (4 with the baf) cap and the girls. I would go with that wave or Absorbing man and then get kraven loose without the baf or something.

>>5617614
Biggesthing is the BAF is worth it for the rhino wave the characters though... might wait til it gets clearenced focus on the other three series.

>>
>>5617532
The books seem fine but I cannot get past her horrible conception. Even if the books are pretty okay, which is what I heard, I just think the reason for her existence is enough for me to not even bother. At first I didn't get how people could have that mentality. For an example, I knew people didn't like Silk at first, for good reason, so they didn't give her ongoing a chance like I did. I didn't understand why nobody would give it a chance despite it being in good hands.

Now I understand completely.
>>
>>5618000

I just got mine and I agree.

Overall the figure is much better than I thought it would be. The paint work on the alternate is actually done quite well with the cybernetic skull.

My only complaint is the lack of trigger hands so that he can properly hold a gun and the fact that he comes with that goofy looking rifle. I would have preferred one of the several other guns that Hasbro has already tooled.

Cable is going to be awesome in the X-Men wave later this year since he shares pretty much everything but the vest with Nuke.

Gotta say that this is the biggest change towards higher end collectors figures that Legends have made; the more and more common inclusion of interchangeable hands. Ben Reilly Spidey is such a fun figure and having so many hand options opens up a world of posing options for him.

Especially this sexy devil surprised me. I remember reading ghost rider 2099 as a kid, but never the original one. And as such wasn't expecting to like him. Might be my favourite figure in the wave still.

Are there any great collection books/omnibuses with him?
>>
>>5620068
How was your kraven? I got rid of mine because the whole upper torso setup was way too rickety for my tastes, we're talking floppy ab crunch, waist swivel, and hip assembly.

I get what you mean with rickety, the ab crunch is very rickety. It does not bother be as the jacket keeps him in place. Also the waist joint is a bit too loose for my tastes. Other than that it's fine.

Some other anon have tips how to fix these issues?

I mean it's easy enough to pose around as is, but making those two articulation spots tighter, would indeed make it a better figure.Still Definately the best kraven we've gotten ever, and as a spidey collector a must get in my opinion.

Ghost Rider is a character who's been given a lot of chances, and rarely actually had good books from them.

Jason Aaron's run is the only one I'd really strongly recommend, though the omni collecting it has been out of print and overpriced for a while now. Ennis' stuff is probably worth reading, and much easier to get copies of.

I kinda dig the Hearts of Darkness crossover with him, Punisher and Wolverine in the full-on 90's comics edge sort of goofy way, too.

I've been making some spidey webs out of the clear twist ties that some figures are bundled with (lately a couple of clearanced Arkham knight figures) and I want to make more but have no idea what to type into eBay or Amazon to find these. I'm a picture framer, and we use a clear plastic-coated braided wire sold in spools that could work. It comes in various thicknesses all the way down to 1mm. Just look online for "picture wire plastic coated" but be aware that you're going to have to buy like $15 worth of material for that one small project.

Yeah, the upcoming Spidey is Ultimate Peter, and Miles Morales is also in that wave.

As for other USM figures, Spider-Man Classics had:
>Secret Identity Spider-Man, based on Ultimate Peter/Spider-Man
>Ultimate Rhino
>Tail Attack Lizard, based on Ultimate Lizard

Then Ultimate Green Goblin was the BAF of the ASM2 Marvel Legends wave

There are also Marvel Selects of various Ultimate characters, like:

Aside from those you've got figures of various other Ultimate characters that aren't directly related to USM but might have appeared like Captain America, or Iron Man.

Still, he's a perfect size for fitting in to ML collections since he's about 6''. If you can get the DX version for around $50, spring for it. It's LOADED with accessories and features, and it holds up nicer than the regular version. It's the best Spider-man figure I own and I own most of the best 6'' Spidey. A figuarts Spidey may be better but I hate how the changes the CW costume makes to the comic one.

You're dumb and don't understand what washes are for.

A wash can come in a variety of colors, so if oyu don't want it to look gritty as shit, you use a color that's close to the plastic you're painting, thus making the details stand out better and more realistic looking.
For something like Hasbro's figures, where they come in glossy colored plastic, it makes a big difference in the appearance of their figures.

I already had Ben from a lucky run in at Toys R us a few months ago, and I just wanted Superior Venom and Ghost Rider.
I kind of wanted Kraven and Chameleon, but I'm trying to save money, especially with Venom Spaceknight being the next build a fig. Also, the paint job was pretty bad on Chameleon, and if I bought them both, I wouldn't be able to control myself from buying White Tiger just so I could finish Rhino.

So he hates the pants, but doesn't hate the chest?
Point still stands. No complaints because it doesn't bother him (likely because he doesn't notice it, otherwise he'd be hating on it because his hate is pretty irrational).

Says the guy who doesn't know anything about SFX.
Here's a book on building movie sets and other production stories
http://www.amazon.com/Below-Line-J-R-Helton/dp/0867194782
>Every set was such a rush to finish that i found myself more than once painting in the rain, slogging around in the mud with a forty-foot ladder and eight-gallons of raw umber wash, putting it on a building, only to watch the rain make it disappear.
It's a common as shit painting technique used by every artist, yet you deny it's used, despite the obvious evidence everywhere.

I'm >>5628646 and I hate the chest and the pants in equal measure. Look, fwooshfaggot, nobody likes your babby's first custom shit washes. It doesn't look real in any way, it actually detracts from the realism. Nobody walks around with giant tar stains all over their clothes. Did Captain America get a job as a Victorian-era chimney sweeper or something?

It looks like trash. Your custom sucks. Washes are for amateurs. There's not really much beyond that, other than your stupid ramblings where you try and pretend people are speaking positively about something when they're not.

Will we ever get a Figuarts comic book Wolverine?
>>
>>5629831

What makes you think they would? They've stuck pretty rigidly to the movie designs with no sign of branching out into the comics whatsoever.
>>
>>5629837

More hope and wishful thinking than any actual expectation. I guess I'm hoping that the film figures are popular enough for them to think about making comic book ones too.

I really want a good quality, highly posable Wolverine figure and I don't think Hasbro is ever going to oblige me.

Judging by most of the other figures having at least one variant, we'll probably get both brown and yellow/blue One:12 Wolverines.
>>
>>5629855
what are your "tiers" for characters then?
>>
>>5629782
>theyll never see me shitting up here!
>>
>>5629899

Avengers wise:

Tier 1 - Cap, Thor, Iron Man
Tier 2 - Black Widow, Hawkeye, Hulk
Tier 3- Everyone else
>>
>>5629948
Well hulk was released with the other three and antman is a general release so that kind of blows your tier bullshit apart. Any member of the avengers should be general release, this picking and choosing bullshit is what kills lines like it's going to kill the lupin line.
>>

>>
>>5630019
Marvel won't give them the X-Men or F4 license; they confirmed that at NYCC.
>>
>>5629846
Are the Marvel figures not selling well or something? I would have bought that Panther if he wasn't web exclusive.

If they're blaming poor sales on Hulk, that's their fault for making a shitty figure.
>>
>>5629859
>Mezco
>making a Wolverine costume we want
Literally wut. Every last one of their Marvel designs were their own OC variation shit. Turns out DKR Batman, Mutant Leader, and Dredd were not the norm for One:12 and they're not going to do comic accurate stuff. They'll probably make some variation of new age shit Wolverine or from Morrison's abysmal run.

I bought a pack of three Tamashii Act 4 stands shortly after I bought Figuarts Freddie Mercury since I didn't trust him to stand on his own for long and he didn't come with one. The other two I'm using to pose Jack O'Lantern on his broom and to hold Superior Spidey in a webswinging pose. They work pretty well.

I'm not talking in terms of figure releases, the tiers are based on how important the characters are. Cap, Thor and Iron Man have always been the big three; both in the comics and in the MCU.

>>5630039

Sorry but I disagree. I'm happy Mezco are making them because I know a lot of people like them but I'm just not one of those people.

>>5630599

I've found that Figma stands work fine for my Ben Reilly Spidey but that the peg is far to small for Batroc. Tamashii Act Stage is probably your best bet. They are up for August release on Amiami and HLJ so if you want some it might be worth preordering them.
