Where to buy
>GSC Online Shop - some figmas only are available through their online shop
>Amiami - usual place for buying, to some people, shipping is a bit higher due to packaging
>Hobby Link Japan shipping is usual lower, but their prices are a bit higher, private warehaouse is available
>Hobby Search Japan - items stay in stock the longest
>Mandarake - search figma or フィグマ
>eBay/Amazon - only if you hate having too much money. Avoid bootlegs, you can spot them as 'Chinese version'
>http://jungle-scs.co.jp/ - Seems like you can fine some good deals here
>Check the BST threads, My Figure Collection for any offer/deal

The S shape is always good advice though. The basic idea is that straight lines tend to look stiff.

First time posting in /toy/, please bare with me. I have an an autistic daughter absolutely obsessed with Pit and Dark Pit figmas, each retailing ~$160 on Amazon. I have tried diverting her towards Amiibos, didn't work. Also, I'm all for spending $$ on quality products, but $300+ for what might be a 9yo's passing infatuation rubs me the wrong way.
What other retailers are out there that might be more affordable?
Thanks in advance.
Reminder: if you want GSC to make something you need to tell them you want it.

I dono but i wouldn't get a figma for a 9 year old.
>>5609324
Thanks, anon. FWIW, I don't really want to, but she has a limited scope of intetests outside of video games.
>>5609302
>SPAS 12 is a GSC bonus
Eh, I'd feel really tempted if the stock was folded, but as it stands getting an AN-94 is pretty cool.
>>5609311
Sent GSC a request to have the cast of the Tenchi be made. Fingers crossed.
Not going to beat LA anytime, but Platz are releasing a set of 3 rifles in July.

>>5609310
Get her into Legacy Revoltechs or camp out on Manda/Jungle for preowned Pits. There's a Dark Pit for 14k and Pit for 12k on Manda currently.
or you could get her Nendoroid/Figma Link if she wants a twink
which godhand members are you going to buy?
>>5609353
>2k for 3 weapons
pretty gud deal. wish we had pictures of them with figures though so we can see how they actually look
>>5609359
I'd like Slan and Void, but realistically I'm not going to buy them.
>>5609359
Most likely only Slan. Since I'm pretty sure they're gonna be some of the more expensive figma releases.
>>5609359
All of them over time but Rape Man is definitely sitting high on the shelf. Love the red paint apps on Slan though
The Shotgun bonus for the Gurlukovich Soldier doesn't worth the extra money you need to pay
just get this LA set of shotguns

I think this is my favorite Figma line of all time. Can't wait for Vitruvian Man.

This is one Figma that should have been a Revoltech.
Looks good though, apart from the joints in the scarf... which arent the same red as the scarf itself...

The new Major is from Arise. They don't have Tachikomas in Arise.

wildly cool design, I like him alot.
i bought a used figma recently but there's one minor issue. its in fantastic shape, no scuffs or problematic joints, but the hair piece (bangs, mainly) that goes over their faceplate doesn't have a snug fit, so it falls off real easily.
any way i could fix this?

>>5609310
having an autistic brother who also sadly imprinted his obsession onto video games and YouTube I feel ya man. It can be quite rough explaining that sort of thing, but try sitting her down and trying to teach her the value of money. I know it's taboo to discuss finances with kids, but sometimes it needs to be done. Show her the value of how much money those figmas are, she gets video games so show her in terms of how you can buy a 3ds with that same money for one of those figmas. Show her how many video games can be bought for that much. Heck if you most, tell her that one month or so of food shopping is worth that much.
My sister is not autistic but my mother had to eventually sit her down and have a similar discussion with her, granted I think she was like 11 or 12, but to this day my sister now married claims that talk was an extremely important life altering lesson for her. She was, is, into ice skating and so much of the parents income went into the lessons and the skates, it wasn't long before she wanted all the extremely expensive handbags and skating dresses everyone else had at the rink. so yeah man, others may attack you for things like 'that's too heavy a guilt to tell a young child,' but they ain't her parents, you are and you need to weigh the choices as too what is too heavy for her and/or is necessary to hear.
Good luck raising her mate, 4channers may joke and belittle autistics, but it ain't easy to handle kids with it, especially if they are the aggressively ocd types versus hiding in a personal bubble types
>>5609963
Maybe, can you give me an example of the pose?
>>5609359
In order of priority;
1. Slan
2. Void
3. Femto
4. Ubrik
5. Conrad
I wish they were making Skull Knight and his horse but that's just asking for my wallet to be raped.
>>5609970
>>5609975
Kinda tricky with the old style Figma wrist joint.
>>5610003
Cheers buddy. I'll try and pick it up just for that
What are the chances of getting berserk stuff re-released now that a new animu is on the way?
>>5610021
Very little.
We might see some new figures based on the new anime though. I really hope we get a new Casca cause the one they released was shit.
>>5610030
Also a new Black Swordsman Guts.
Berserker armor and Golden Age were pretty good, and I don't see them rereleasing Berserker armor or making a v2 (that would be great, though)
>>5609310
You're probably not going to find it cheap at any point. The cheapest you'll be able to find it on mandarake, but they're still going to be upwards of 100 dollaroos.
Also like others mentioned, it'd be hard to recommend a figma for a 9-year old. They're not particularly fragile or anything, but I doubt it's going to last in the hands of a child who's actively playing with it.
>>5610084
I would like an updated Black Swordsman Guts with better facial expressions and his arm mounted crossbow.
>>5610084
I don't think they can re-release Berserker because of its limited status, but they could always do a different version of it (eg. damaged/bloody).
Kind of like how Bandai makes different versions of Tamashii exclusive figures because they can't outright reissue them.
>>5610107
That's what everyone says but it's yet to even happen for a figma.
>>5610110
Well, maybe Max Factory will stop being dumb, be a good business company, and milk that mold a second time.
>>5609345
I HOPE SO
>>5609310
>video games

>>5610119
What if they were to make a new mold?
>>5610133
Maybe a new headsculpt, but there's no need to redo the entire thing.
>>5610133
I wouldn't complain (assuming it's better), but it seems a lot less plausible than a recolour or retool.

Wrong.
Evangelion is still relevant.
Jojo is still relevant.
Lupin III is still relevant.
Ghost in the Shell is still relevant.
Berserk is still relevant.
>>5610743
They're also still getting new content, whereas Tenchi hasn't for over a decade.
>>5610743
All of those except Eva are only relevant because they keep getting new installments. And Eva's primarily relevant because it ruined the giant robot genre by forcing them all to have some whiny hero or some 2deep4u twist or subplot.
>>5610706
Not sure but the 1st episode was a real ride to watch.

>>5611073
>also why did they put david twice?
Homo Davides Ver.?
>>5610091
>They're not particularly fragile or anything
Let's be brutally honest here, yes they are. Grown adults frequently hamhand Figma figures, the joints will absolutely not stand up to even the slightest abuse. Figures like this are more akin to a posable statue than a toy, and should be treated accordingly.
Put them in the hands of an autistic 9-year-old child and it's going to be a recipe for disaster. She'll break something within the first ten minutes of owning them and then have a meltdown over it.
I seriously feel for >>5609310, but in this case the decent thing to do is not spend $300+ on something that will be ruined almost immediately - in fact that'll just create a larger problem when she won't accept they can't be repaired or replaced. The best thing you can do in this case is talk her out of it, which I appreciate is a nightmare, but you'll be setting her up better to cope with her autism later in life if you don't break down and capitulate to everything she demands now. As others have said, try and make her appreciate what she could have and get more enjoyment out of for the equivalent amount of money, that's probably a good starting point. Also curtail her access to the internet until she's older so she can't find out things like this exist in the first place.
>>5609309
>>5611114
>>5609353
Nice, I may ship it with this since it also comes out in July.
I put in a product re release request to GSC for Black Swordsman Guts. I would totally love an improved 2nd version, but I didn't want to seem so entitled and just asked for a simple re release. I'd be satisfied just as long as I wouldn't have to pay $120 to some aftermarket juicer.
I appealed to them with the fact they're doing the God Hand and the new anime will be about Guts as the Black Swordsman. Here's hoping they want to cash in on this prime opportunity.

Fuck. Can anybody with Figma Saber Zero confirm how many hands she comes with? Right now I have 5 pairs of hands, including every hand shown in the left side of this image along with the defaults clenched fists, so that's 10 hands total but I just realized there's an extra hand to hold the sheath. I was wondering for years why I couldn't fit her sheath in her hands.

>>5613495
if they figma have hands made for holding guns. if not, get the LA hands which fit on figma joints.
>>5613488
don't be an idiot and invest in something more worthwhile, like stocks.
>>5613498
hey there are some lego sets that tripled in value like cafe corner, anything that appreciates in value is a good investment
>>5613488
You have to understand the market. First of all, not everything gonna double in price. You need to understand the characters, fandom, demands, and make educated guess just like every other kind of investment. Usually a good bet would be:
- Meme series (Berserk, Klk,Mgs, Fate for example)
- Special edition (Berserker Guts, Kat from gravity rush)
- Smash characters (Lucina, Samus, Link, Snake)
- Vidya characters always beat anime characters through sheer audience demand
- Waifu stuff, but this is risky you dont want to have a stale flavor of the month waifu
>>5613512
the most expensive figma are only about $150 on the aftermarket

The most expensive figmas are less than $200. Collectibles in general aren't good investments unless you're talking about expensive art.
>>5613520
To be fair thats a great return on investment. Like special edition mk7 Iron Man is guaranteed to sell for at least twice MSRP.
But then again, personally I think that it is better to wait until the firest batch of reviews come out. There's always a chance of another Snake incident. Without such botched release, Snake would've sold for way way more than currently
>>5613533
if $150 is enough money for you to consider an investment, more power to you I guess
>>5613512
>lego sets that tripled in value like cafe corner,
Cafe Corner cost $139.99 USD when it came out in like, 2007.

like all model kits, it's about experimentation. assemble it dry, see if you like it. if you think it needs paint, add paint. if you think it's fine, it's fine. if you need to modify it, experiment.
you don't need to your hand held through this, you're an adult.
>>5613554
Just build them but have plastic cement around to tie together the parts that aren't swappable so the gun doesn't fall apart when you decide to deal it or something.
Only gun at the moment that would need pairing to not look bad is the Scar.
>>5613540
Not in raw dollars, but percentage gains. Scalping limited edition nerd stuff has a lot of percentage gain compared to stock investment (single digit percentage usually).
The only thing that is more profitable than scalping nerds on the internet is scalping jocks for sport events/concert tickets
>>5613568
yeah but you'd have to do it dozens, if not hundreds of times to make it worth your time.
>>5613570
True. And with that amount of time preordering, doing SAL shipping, pick ups, resell them on ebay, etc you're always better off just straight up work a real job and spend extra time to earn more money. That's why despite the great return on investment, you only see bottom barrel people scalping concert tickets/sport events.
I'm saying is that if you're a hobbyist, and you're already deep down in chinese imageboard arguing about waifu figures, might as well try to make an extra buck out of your hobby
How do the Love Live figmas scale compared to the AoT figures? Are they of a comparable size, especially in head size?
>>5613635

Who does? The Love Live girls?
Is there a way to remove the ball hinged neck joints from Figma heads without damaging them (and/or with the ability to put the back in later)?

Yes. Miku 2.0 and Snow Miku 2.0 are the only ones with non-removable neck joints.
>>5614005

>>5613924
yes

Anyone got the new Motoko with the GSC pre-order bonus?
I've already ordered the standard version from AmiAmi, I paid just over ¥5000 in total.
It hasn't arrived yet.
Now I'm debating whether or not I should just sell her once she gets here,
and instead order the bonus version from Mandarake for ¥6000 + shipping in the mean time.
Are the bonus parts worth an extra ¥2000~ though?
That is my question, to myself and any anons who have the bonus version.

After another good hard look at your pic I've already talked myself out of it.
>>5615433
I would love a fully cloaked Motoko figma to be honest.
I'm not sure if this is the best way to describe it, but it would look great in a clear plastic with a glossy wash over the top for that 'gasoline on water' shimmery effect she has when cloaked.

>>5615751
>Why the heck are you paying ¥2k extra
Ain't paying full price + 2k on shipping for a bonus that doesn't worth the effort IMHO
That's why I went with AmiAmi to get my squad
>>5615784
I never got into the DRRR anime, I still have it on my backlog. Although I really dig the Celty character
>>5615802
On the pics I have seen of these transparent legs I never noticed that the joints were white (because the background of said pics were white) until now that I see your pic, so her legs are using the same color of joints as the Archetype She 2.0
>>5615802
how is that stealth i can see the joints??
>>5615821
They're not exactly white, they're just translucent plastic. They couldn't be as transparent as the other parts because they would be too brittle.
>>5615843
Because >>5615845
100% clear plastic is very brittle.
>>5615821
>Ain't paying full price + 2k on shipping for a bonus that doesn't worth the effort IMHO
What he means, is, the bonus part does not have to be a flat extra 2k for you if you do it right.
If you buy multiple figures off of the Goodsmile site you save a LOT due to a FLAT SHIPPING FEE.
So anon is suggesting you buy a couple to sell off or split the order and shipment with a friend.
Understand it NOW?
>>5615864
I'm the original anon who was pondering buying the bonus version >>5615349
The reason I said it would be 2k more is because I was going to buy from Mandarake, who seem to charge 1k minimum for shipping, and the figure itself was 6k.
I'd already ordered the standard version from AmiAmi for 5k.
I've never ordered from GSC shop before because of their outrageous shipping costs.
I don't want to have to order multiple figures just to make it seem like I'm not being jewed.
None of my friends collect toys.
Selling shit on the internet is a chore, and I'd inevitably have to eat some costs due to shipping/insurance etc.
tl;dr
No the bonus version isn't worth an extra 2k

I posted pic-related almost two threads ago and no one seemed to notice it though.
>>5615950
Looks cool but I don't mind giving it a miss.
Which endoskeleton is that? Does it have light-up eyes? Kinda looks like it does.
>>5615950
>>5615953
>>5615952
It's the Playmates Endoskeleton. I honestly don't recommend it, and it only looks as good as it does because I heavily modded it.
>>5615952
Also forgot to mention, it basically has light-pipe eyes hence why it looks like they're glowing. I'll admit, the only cool thing about it is how it actually fits in with the rest of my Figma collection due to its small size.
>>5615955
>it only looks as good as it does because I heavily modded it.
Blowing your own trumpet a bit there m8 :^)
>>5615959
The reason I asked is because it looks relatively in scale with Motoko.
I only have a Neca endoskeleton and it's obviously way out of scale with all of my figmas.
I'm not familiar with light pipes in toys, can you post a pic of the eyes 'glowing'?
>>5615963
Basically it's from the godawful Playmates "Terminator: Salvation" line. Admittedly it's one of the only decent figures to come out of it by virtue of being a vanilla rendition of the T-800 Endo. Thing is, most people ignored it at the time since it was too small to match with western figures. That said, the size was surprisingly perfect for Figma/Figuarts so I ended up nabbing one for myself. If you need to look it up, just search up the "T-R.I.P." (specifically the 6-inch version, not the 3.75-inch version).
>Blowing your own trumpet a bit there m8 :^)
Haha fair enough. I may have gotten ahead there. If you're wondering about the mods I did here's a list of them:
>re-arranged the chest wires so they come out from the front instead of the back
>gave it a black paint wash to bring out the details
>heated up and glued the teeth together so it's permanently closed
>heavily modded the dorky gun so it looks like a pistol version of the Terminator's usual Plasma Rifle
>>5615963
Here it is with the eyes "glowing". Basically it only "lights up" if you shine a light near its head due to the translucent red plastic at the top of its head which also make up the eyes. Also forgot to mention but the figure in >>5616003 isn't my custom, rather it's how it looks like without any mods.
Admittedly, it's not that bad if you want a Figma-sized Endo, but a black wash definitely goes a long way in making it look more presentable.
>>5615864
>If you buy multiple figures off of the Goodsmile site you save a LOT due to a FLAT SHIPPING FEE
Yeah, but you have a limit of 3 of the same items there, and I wanted to get 5 in this case
I went with Amico to get 3 and I was able to include other figs from there that I couldn't get from the GSC shop and the shipping cost were shared between said items, so in the end all was good
Same thing I did on HLJ to get the other 2 motokos and some other items from there
I also agree with anon on >>5615881 about that selling have their problems, so I didn't bother with it

Durarara is far better, but I wouldn't mind Baccano figma either.
>>5613616
Pretty much hit the nail on the head right there. Whenever there's a figure of a Smash character coming out, I always make sure to toss it in with my order, just because I know that I can hold onto it for a year and turn it into a quick $20-$50. It's way too inefficient to be anything resembling a job or an investment or anything, but I see no reason not to have a figure or two pay themselves off if I'm already making an order.
>>5616246
Wasn't even me, you're just using buzzwords. Love the anime reaction image too.

Hey bro you cant head swap the Archetype 2.o with Arise motoko, they do use the same joint but they reversed the connection. The ball joint is on the head of Motoko, the peg goes into the neck joint. The 2.0 has the neck joint as the ball socket and the peg places into the head. I found out the hard way. Sure a custom joint can fix it.

I don't know, I'd say her chances of getting a figma aren't as low as Fake and real Assassin's. If anything I just want a freaking Lancer already.
Just bought Saber Alter (unopened) for 5K on mandarake. Considering that she goes for 100+ on ebay, amazon and plamoya, I think I got a good deal.
S-Alter has been a grail of mine for a while, but recently I gave up hope of a figma and bought the revoltech version for 2K. Neither packages have arrived yet so I'm thinking whether I should sell one and keep the other.

>>5617784
>I don't know, I'd say her chances of getting a figma aren't as low as Fake and real Assassin's.
True. Knowing about the popularity of those characters, I think Medea's chances are 10%, fake Assassin 5% and True Assassin 0%.
I've been waiting for more servant figmas since 2009, but let's be realistic. Jeanne has more chances of getting a figma right now than any of the original servants, Max Factory always goes for the most popular/main characters from the last installment/adaptation of any franchise most of the time. I expect them to produce a couple of Fate/ Grand Order figmas and another two for Fate/Extra 3 at best. If not for the anime adaptation of UBW, Archer would still be an unreleased prototype. We'll be lucky if they decide to make a Sakura when the first Heaven's Feel movie is released.
>>5617792
Good luck with the hard plastic tubes inside the rubbery parts of the upper arms, the ones on mine cracked by themselves after some years because the elbow joint pegs are too big for the hole and stressed the plastic. The lower arms don't fall off but are loose as fuck.

Question: How are the little armory guns? Some stuff got shifted around for my most recent order and I don't feel like paying shipping on only one figure. These seemed like a decent thing to add on.
>>5618738
Pretty good. Love the Combat Commander's pistol set since you can wrap the holster around the leg of a Figma and a good number of pistols to have around.
Only thing you need to have is probably plastic cement to glue together the smaller parts you know you aren't swapping out in order to keep the gun together. Already have the 2 Scars and a few LMG's coming in for monthly order. Though I was a bit surprised to see the Scar getting a colored variant back then.
Also try to get some Little Armory gloves to help pose Figmas with them unless you're keen to using the usual holding hand for this. Though there is flesh colored ones coming later.

>>5619027
>no LA kits are flat grey besides the gun racks.
That is an LA kit in the pic though
It looks different from its packaging vs. display pics
>>5618944
I want to see this one
>>5619027
>cont.
I think the paint really makes a difference though. this SCAR isn't finished, but the paint and two-tone coloration is a lot closer than the original, which was all the same dark olive-brown. the detail work is tougher.
>>5619030
that kit is only available in black or tan, they just again used the prototype pic. it doesn't come with the belts, either.
>>5619044
Ah I see, they weren't clear in pointing that out then on at least Hobby Search, maybe on amiami or HLJ they did idk.
>>5619049
>I would like my sniper girl personally.
Her, perhaps?

http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?scode=FIGURE-011983
there were two separate preorders on amiami, yeah.
by the way guys the type 89 and M24 are up for preorder now, I'm really glad they're doing another sniper. the M82s are cool and all but almost too heavy it seems.
>>5619055
Looks like it would be lots of fun, to get two figmas together and get into spotter and shooter shenanigans
>>5619058
I'll let you know in August
>>5619058
Only thing is there is no picture showing how the final model will look like assembled and not-painted.
What color will the factory model have I mean. No indication, just the flat grey again.
Release is in August though so maybe it makes sense to just preorder now anyways since its so cheap
>>5619051
I was thinking this one but she'd be great too
>>5619067
I'm guessing light green for body, black everywhere else. unless they decide to make it wood-looking, but with the way the stock looks it's more likely based on a polymer body.
What if I just want the bike?
Wasn't there a Racing Miku figma a lot of people ended up disappointed with? Something about it having a stupid long neck. I thought I remembered it being the 2014.
>>5619123
then you could go to wal mart, buy a gun, and shoot yourself with it because you're fucking retarded.
>>5619159
No Wal Mart where I live.
What if I just want the bike?
>>5619161
Just keep the figma for parts or something.
>>5619163
The deals off
>>5619164
Not sure what you expected. I doubt someone will pair off the bike from the figma unless it was some odd Ebay sale or something.
>>5618944
I know that feel. And Scar-chan would only be the third in the line.
>>5619067
Most likely black because that is the normal color for the M24 SWS.
So does AmiAmi accept debit cards?
Is that possible to use with their credit card option at checkout? Don't really wanna use Paypal
>>5619214
have you checked their FAQ section?
>>5619235
Yeah they said generally debit cards aren't recommended but not restricted.
What has me worried though is this-
>Our store can only accept payments in Japanese Yen (JPY). Payments sent in any other currencies will be returned.
If I pay with a debit card or through paypal or something, the conversion happens automatically?
I have limited experience ordering overseas, my previous two figmas were from Amazon stores at damn good prices in the US, but this is the first time I'm ordering directly from amiami
>>5619241
Then just use paypal to be safe, they convert it automatically. Your bank should do that anyway though.
>>5609369
I imagine these are going to be minimum 60 bucks if we're really lucky.
>>5619258
I hope so man. Im pretty sure they're gonna be more than that due to the series its from and the amount of material used
>>5619262
...and the yen being strong lately
>>5619262
I'm expecting 80 but quite frankly I'm getting the whole five of them regardless.
So I'm at a dilemma regarding the new Motoko figma
I really want to get it but I don't want to buy it from amiami if the total price will be more than $58, which is the cost, with free shipping for the figure on Amazon, only it will be available on the 27th.
So if I choose EMS and purchase the figma from amiami, but the shipping cost adds up to over the cost of the figure acquired through Amazon, or even in a local store that has it for $65 right now and I could go there tomorrow if I wanted to go pick it up.
Obviously I want the cheapest option, but the convenience of being able to pick it up right away for $65 is tempting if the option of buying it overseas from AmiAmi will end up costing around that much anyways and I will just be waiting much longer for it.
So I guess what will help me right now is if someone here who bought the ARISE Motoko figma from amiami with EMS shipped to the Eastern US can tell me what their shipping price was, it may be the same for all customers especially for NYC or the Northeast as thats where I am.
>>5619267
Image anime right since you mentioned NYC? I can't say much on my EMS shipment on her since I ordered from Mandy with another figma but as a heads up you're going to pay tax on top if I remember right with the figure from them.
>>5619272
Shit you're right, how much do you think tax would be for that, that might add up to fucking $70..
And yeah Image Anime, or one of the few other collectible/hobby stores that sell figmas.
Thing is I could maybe wait on this one because I got SAC Motoko and Mikasa figma on Amazon for pretty darn cheap once the figures released in the US and all these stores had them in bulk
SAC Motoko only $51.50
Mikasa only $48.00
And that was about month or two after release in the US. Seriously lucky deals there, and of course had Amazon prime back then so they arrived quickly too, doubly so since the stores were in the US.
So I'm wondering now if I should take a risk and just wait it out, even without Prime shipping from a local seller in the US would take quicker than from overseas, if I were to buy from Amazon sellers for $58 now or from amiami for however much shipping would be.
But instead of seeing the price drop down as it did with those two other figmas I may see it keep climbing and climbing and the opportunity lost.
I hate this feeling, you want the figure so badly now but if you just wait you may or may not be able to get her cheaper like with the others. It's all based on luck.
>>5619265
Thats what I was thinking. If so I might just go for Slan since shes the only one I want.
>>5619279
Yeah I feel the same way but with Leonidas. If Motoko gotten cheap over time as US sellers started to get her then maybe Movie Motoko could meet the same fate. I know I've seen Motoko hit Midtown Comics for I think $50 or so down the road. Not sure how other import stores fare like Toy Tokyo or Anime Castle all the way in Flushing.
Personally she doesn't look like something that would jack up in price over time but may remain roughly around her release price or so but that's my guess.
>>5619312
> I've seen Motoko hit Midtown Comics for I think $50
Not bad at all, I don't really remember seeing any figmas that cheap when I went figma hunting in NYC
I went to Image Anime, Midtown comics, and maybe one other store who's name escapes me but all the figures were $60-65 and I decided to try Amazon first and glad I did.
I emailed AmiAmi support with an inquiry into the exact EMS shipping price for the figma, if it turns out to be less than or equal to the price for buying it from Amazon then I may as well buy from AmiAmi as the Amazon figma would be on hold till April 27th and then only get shipped, so it would arrive early into May.
Whereas if acquiring the figma via AmiAmi with shipping costs near the same cost as buying it in store, then I might as well just pay the "shipping" cost of the MTA fare and whatever taxes will be and pay a similar price (or slightly higher) to acquire the figma immediately instead of waiting a week or more with EMS, I don't know I never used EMS or overseas shipping before.
Also I just searched Leonidas on Amazon and AmiAmi, ouch, those prices are insane. I didn't expect that with that figure, its all random and out of your control how available/pricey a figure will be even just less than month after release, fuck I hate that uncertainty.
>>5619325
Book Off maybe? They expanded into a figure section last year but it's really out there in terms on what appears for sale. Price wise I think they reference sites like Mandy because I found stuff that seems to line up to what some fronts would sell overseas. Hell, a Sentinel Danboard there was $60
>Book Off
No that wasn't it, though it did have a lot of books and graphic novels at the rear of the store.
I did stop by Toy Tokyo though, boy was that a disappointment, shitty collection of figures, all overpriced and then a giant fucking VINYL POP storefront in the basement level
God I hate POP toys so much, overpriced hipster shit desu desu
>>5619239
>I don't want any of the anime girls from FOTM anime I don't watch.
>I just need to find enough girls to put together my own tacticool schoolgirl squad, now.
That's too bad for you then, there are several tacticool figma girls that come with gear and guns and with the Little Armory sets regular schoolgirls can gear up.
Is it possible to pop out the wrist peg on the 200+ figmas and use the pre-200 hands for them?
>>5619427
I currently only have Scarlet Rain as far as -200's go but the peg seems to fit fine on my Sinon figma. The peg is a bit long though so you can see it if the cuffs weren't covering it.
>>5617833
She is vn acuurate and more proportional.
> Already preorder Shizuo
> release october
> fucking do want Izaya
> fucking do want those little armory mascot girl
> they all will be released october
Srsly gsmc, i don't have that much money, i only can afford one.
>>5619425
>there are several tacticool figma girls that come with gear and guns
I've been browsing through the Figma line on Amiami and Hobysearch Japan, and I'm not seeing them. Just the Major and the Gunslinger Girls, and the latter are all long gone.
>with the Little Armory sets regular schoolgirls can gear up
Yeah, I knew that. I just need enough girls I like to make a squad.
>>5619651
What about Sinon from SAO? She comes with a sniper and a handgun.

bismarck never. she's getting an agp.
tenryuu MIGHT get a figma, she'll be in the kancolle movie.
>>5619662
>Sinon
Not him but don't remind me.
God I can't believe the prices they are asking for her now
never ever ;-;
>>5620254
I know I was and am glad I preordered her when she came out. Might be a while for her to get a reissue if ever.
>>5620313
Somehow I don't think we're getting a re-issue
Neither the figma nor the RAH
This is just the one that got away
>>5620319
Oh no. Dont remind me man. Didnt have the cash for the RAH then and now I'm pretty sure I'll ever get it. I'm just happy I got the figma
>>5620252
How are AGPs compared the figmas? In quality and scale.
>>5620335
Imploded my budget to buy them when I saw them on the shelves. Worth it.
>>5620409
You have both scale Sinons?
Think you might be able to snap a pic like this with them? Would be funny to see if you did
>>5620437
Will try that out later.
>>5620447
Neat, I haven't seen RAH Sinon all that much on /toy/
>>5619241
my debit card actually has a better conversion rate than paypal, I used it everywhere in Japan (that I could, mostly ATMs). Back then ¥20,000 was approximately $170, but the paypal rate was $5-10 higher.
but that was then and now it's higher.
>>5619267
I preordered her from Amiami and I live a few miles from JFK, the total was 5,360 JPY EMS shipped.
soo...
>>5612559
Hold the fucking phone, Saber Zero comes with an invisible Excalibur? I'm tempted to buy her just for that and maybe the slash effect.
>>5619350
>>5619364
book-off's prices are hilarious, desu
>>5620539
>>5620542
they also have Figma Anzu for $80
their manga prices are very reasonable though, if you don't care about flavor of the month western-release shit
>>5620543
thats absolutely abyssmal
>>5620437
RAH Sinon's shorts/belt/pants setup is tighter than I'd like for good posing, but she's still good.
Also soft material torso.
>>5620555
ahah, still awesome figures though, both of them, thanks for that pic anon.
I love seeing 1/6th figures from anime, something so fucking cool about that, cooler than figmas even, but only just. Obviously way more expensive too though
>>5620407
I only have Bongo for the AGPs but she's pretty close to the figmas in terms of size. The thread just hit the image limit while I was writing this so I just uploaded the comparison picture I took to imgur.
http://i.imgur.com/HuiOsBO.jpg
Quality-wise she's great, I honestly think she's better than some of my figma boats, although I heard the earlier ones were pretty bad.
Please excuse my shit posing, especially on Akagi, that bow was a bitch to string and I really don't want it to come undone.
>>5620535
Their support told me that the packaging weighs total 0.4kgs so I used that to find the appropriate price for EMS shipping and its about the same as yours.
Definitely cheaper than buying it in store now, or on Amazon and waiting for it to release in a week so AmiAmi it is
>>5620539
>figuarts luigi
>$3000
wat
>>5620536
The slash effect weights a bit too much, I never use it in fear of something breaking.
>>5620583
I'm sure they mean $30.00
>>5609778
This, although the Spartans were not as faggy as the Athenians, who they derided for buggering thier pretty effeminate males, and mocked them for their poetry and politics and long ways with words.
So Sparta wasn't up for that shit like Athens and Thebes were.
>>5620555
Seeing them together makes me wish I had the RAH Sinon...the figma one is still one of my favorite figures though
new thread when?
>>5620539
>boxed damaged
>>5620598
looks tobe missing someshit too, or maybe they fell to the bottom fo the box
>$120
oiamlaffindotjpegexetiff
>>5620407
Pretty much the same scale. Quality is a bit less on some of them, and the first one they released, Yamato, was a complete disaster and it turned a lot of people off the line. Later ones are fine though.
>>5620555
>shorts/belt/pants setup is tighter
You can say that again. It took forever to get that shit off without irreparably damaging it. Almost fucked up at one point though changing her into some normal underwear and a dress.
>>5620647
I've had to fix the belt with a little glue.
>>5620655
I didn't like the Hecate all that much. The scope caps and carrying handle were rather loose. Was a bit disappointed with the detailing and how the mag, scope and stuff aren't detachable for something 1/6. In 1/12 this level of detail is great though. Replaced it with something more detailed.
>>5620695
And here I am wondering if they simply upscaled the Figma to make the RAH.
>>5620713
The reason people say that is because the faceplates look almost identical
