Those of you just joining us, please read this guide. Please read it before asking questions as there is a chance it has already been answered there.

For those unfamiliar, "Plamo" is a shortened form of "plastic model." If it's made of plastic, someone can probably help you here.

Do you think bandai will do another run of MG jesta cannon to go with Unicorn TV?
>>
>>5587916
It wouldn't surprise me if they did.
>>
>>5587916
more important question is will it be Jesta Cannon RE:96 TV version? I would joke to add 2.0 or Londo Bell Use version to make it extra unnecessarily long.

I'm guessing this is a long shot but does anyone know about the quality of the Fujisaki Anime Masterpiece series? It's old so I'm guessing it's not great but I found some on mandarake for a decent price that look interesting.
>>
Noob question, but are the decals that come with Real grades stickers or waterslides?
>>
>>5588229
Stickers. They may look like waterslides but they're not.
>>
>>5588233
Cool thanks. Was assuming they were waterslides and applying them accordingly with no problems. Just recently realised it doesn't actually specify anywhere.

You let it get extremely dusty m8. You solved the riddle!

It's harder to clean caked dust off a matte surface because it's not smooth like bare plastic or gloss coat, you just gotta clean it more often

Nope. That's a thing I was doing. It works.

Here we are, the metal black grimgerde I said I would spray. (the lower leg should have been gold but I was too lazy and stopped at the black primer layer) Not to mention using the stickers for the sensor because I am a lazy hack.

Still need to spray over the parts the clip held onto as I thought it would be hidden.

IBO kits are inexpensive but the usage of a lot of plastic on plastic joints make them really stiff when posing. So that's something I don't really like about them.

>>5588420
From dalong's review, yes.

Shame about the obvious stickers though, put me off on putting them all on.

I've got a big box of really old, busted up Gundams that I've been trying to salvage with little luck. I'm actually considering grabbing one of the Frame Arms Girl Materia types and using the shattered remains of a mobile suit to make some sort of mecha musume shit.

I've got a Gouf with obliterated joints, a Kampfer with most of it's body crushed, and an assortment of green parts that appears to have been an SD version of something I can't identify. I thought it was a Big Zam at first, but it doesn't have any legs and there's these big pointy triangle parts on the shoulders.

What do you guys think I should go with?

Finally finished my RG Justice, I really wanted the flight pack up in flight mode but it's so back heavy that I've found it impossible for it to sit up in anything but a very front heavy pose. Why would a general dress like a Geisha? It's like she asking for them to fuck her up.
>>
>>5589285
She was basically a figurehead. She's never been in an actual fight before the series.
>>
>>5589285
She's the daughter and sole heir of one of the top 7 noble families that run the military and the division she commands is intended to be purely decorative in order to get her put of the way.

The hg ritter manual mentions different features on the machine were made specifically to be aesthetically pleasing since the ritter was supposed to be used primarily for ceramonial purposes rather than actual combat.

The main reason she keeps going after the MCs is she wants to prove her division isn't worthless.

You do realize that you don't have to blindly like everything just because it's a real Gundam brand Gundam, right? Like, I fucking love Shinkis, but I'm very vocal about how much I hate Vitulus. (She reminds me of calves in veal boxes, if you're curious)

I'm about to start watching a bit of gundam so I'm atleast not disingenuous about having toys but not knowing the source material. It just seems fun. Also I got these two off Hlj because they were very cheap.

Given the insanely high melting point of armor and the only benefit would be if you got lucky enough to over heat their systems, it's not worth the risk of range.

Fire is far too close of a range compared to beams and such. Hell even a javelin usually has longer range in Gundam.

I have these little terran marines I got from the blizzard store for 10 dollars. when snipping the part off the attachment point which connects to the runner, dont cut it clean on the model to allow a little breathing space for those parts to take the stress when you snip other parts
Then snip them clean off once the parts are fully free from the runners (this will help avoid white stress marks and warping)

Make sure to snip just the sprue attachment off flush with the part, be careful to identify which is the sprue attachment and which is the part.

It is a very siilar approach to the Barbatos 6th form, which give a lot of play value due to more accessories and the option of a form change that slightly reverts slightly back to the vanilla version but not exactly. Teh Graze Kai is missing the regular Graze boosters and the Barbatos 6th form is missing the 4th form elbows, katana, gun, and extra polycap to build the regular feet.

There's not a lot to brushes honestly. As long as they're approved for acrylic (which 99% of the mare), you're fine. For handbrushing, though, Vallejo, Citadel or P3.
>>

Simply because not a lot of people handbrush.
I have tried life color and it brushes pretty well, but the end texture is like a latex and doesn't sand well.

I'm going to be an asshole and say that the only way you can paint a tiny 1/16 gun and have it look good is if you use an airbrush.

Can will put out too much paint and it will cover whatever little surface detail your guns have.

Hand painting with properly thinned paint will require multiple coats to look good which again will cover the detail.

What you need is one thin even coat of primer followed by a thin even coat of paint and the only way to get that is with an airbrush.

Pic is very related.

It's a very simple kit, less parts in total than I've seen in individual hg gunpla limbs.

The detail is very solid.

It's one of the bandai ghibli kits, and I would buy another for sure. I haven't tried any of the fine molds ones.

Just a heads up, you have the shoulder armor on the wrong sides.

Still they really are quite decent, just wish they'd do a replacement of the rubber coverings; with the sleeves you get with the newer TNG Patlabor kit.

So since I need a 1/100 scale building for my current project I will need to scratchbuild it. So to help with scaling it I picked up a HO scale building form model railroading to use as a reference since it is fairly close (HO is roughly ~1/87 scale).

I'm going to use it as painting practice for buildings too since I've never painted one before. Should be fun.

I want to paint small details on like one or two kits. Beyond seam-welding, panel lining & other simple modifications, I'm practically a snapfag. So it's not worth the investment for me, & that's without mentioning I live in a terrible climate for it in a house with no proper setting.

I got both wolf and saix and got some comparison photos for ya.

Please forgive the following poor quality iPad photos as well as missing parts, masking, horrible cluttered desk and so on in the middle of painting and fixing loose parts on the saix as well as heavy spring cleaning so tons of clutter on the desk from other parts of the room.

But enough of my rambling blog moment. As we can see with the limbs stretched out to a rather neutral stance to bring them to a full standing height, saix is a good bit taller then the wolf. Also of note is the boxes they come in. The wolfs box is nearly identical in size except for that wee little bit of extra height. bear in mind I don't know how big the other wolf kits are box wise, but I'm willing to bet they aren't this big due to him containing the weaponry of every wolf kit.

Now for a top down, as was likely to be assumed already, saix is good deal longer then the wolf. I do however want to express something that easily noticeable from these images. The limbs of the saix are lanky and factor a good bit more to its height then for the wolf. Combine with the fact the saix really doesn't look good posed to its full standing height, while the wolf works it better, you may often not see as big a height difference if any with most of the poses you may put the saix in.

Next post I will finish up with my thoughts regarding the price difference.
>>
File: image.jpg (311KB, 960x720px) Image search: [Google]

311KB, 960x720px
>>5592527
Now for the final post. Just took an angled pic of them necrosis to each other to get a better idea of overall bulk and size differences. I really don't think either one is bulkier then the other, although the wolf does give that impression due to being smaller in all the other dimensions. Maybe the proper word is he is stockier? Like the difference between a human and a dwarf, still roughly the same width just squished down.

Pricing, well at this point from how old the kits are, it depends on reissues. i think saix had a reissue recently which helps the price out a lot, but even without that reissue it was one of the latter releases of the line so it's price was always in the forties range even for Amazon, up until last fall. Then the price suddenly dropped again, so guessing that's when the reissue came about, if there was one.

The wolf I have is I believe one of the much later wolf releases and since it has all those extra weaponry from every wolf released, it's price logically is gonna be higher then you might expect. It all depends on the wolf you are comparing prices to the saix with, he comes with stuff that came with a total of three different wolf kits. He has the default gun turret, then Irvine's long range gun, and finally the AC specification of the double cannons, a leg mounted rocket launcher, Gatling gun, and finally leg boosters. So yeah, a lot of extra junk.

Different models use different thicknesses for different parts. There is no standardization. I just use the .5 and 1 thicknesses because it's simpler to work with that way.

So apparently Gaia makes this "super glue putty" in CMYK and white and you can (in theory) mix the exact color of your plastic and then (in theory) seam weld without painting.
>>
>>5593384
You can also melt leftover runner pieces with regular plastic cement in a jar to do that too.

But if the Gaia cement works too then go for it.

In practice it doesn't work quite as well as traditional putty (pic related).
