Just grabbed a couple Hoihoi-san kits. Anyone else have any? How are the kits? They're by Koto so I'm not worried, just curious.

Someone mentioned the other day about trimming the pegs slightly to make it easier to disassemble after dry fitting.

Is there a specific way they should be cut to make them pop out easier or what?

Signed up. Was surprisingly hard to come up with 5 different gunpla that I want.

Ok so I finally got started on my Late UC Unicorn, as in I wanted it to resemble the silver Phenex from the G-Reco OVA, and I was wondering if decals would make sense or if they'd even show up over the dark silver color I had planned. Obviously white waterslides/decals would show up but it would probably just contrast too much.
Also would a lighter silver work to replace the yellow in the v-fin? If not should I keep it yellow or match the rest of the armor?

They're fun, but it's all plastic-on plastic, so the limbs are a pain to move and poseability of the classic Hoihoi is pretty limited due to the plastic skirt.
Their gear is compatible with 1/100 mechs.

Eventually everybody got fed up with him and called us all fags and ran off to a circlejerk forum. There he made even more terrible builds and even offered to do commisions.

Mechatro WeGo is an original design from this one scifi designer guy that got popular (Backstory is supposed to be that its some robot transport for children that basically works like a combination of a claw game and a Segway).

The company making them got the Nichijou artist to do some promotional and box art for them and they decided to do a Nichijou version because of it.

Basically it's almost entirely unrelated to the series itself, it's just a cool crossover/tie-in.

Citadel are made for handbrushing. It's airbrushing that they are finicky with.

I had an iwata eclipse that unfortunately broke as i was cleaning it. The needle got jammed and wouldnt budge at all.

I was done with painting so i went to clean it out as normal. Got real messy that day so i took everything apart to clean properly and when i put it all back together the needle was jammed. Don't wanna overdo it so I'll stop for now. Not perfect, but I like it. Better than the Aile Strike from last thread at least.

First type of weathering I've tried, but, although I like it enough, I don't think I'll use this method on customs. Next thing I'll try is using the sponge. What I really wanna do is have the "scraped metal" effect under white paint, but that seems pretty intricate.

The Unicorn one is pretty much already in the 0079 colors

I think it'll be the Zeta. It's a popular, classic design. They'll probably try to give it a full transformation and have that as the big selling point.

Really wish there was a better photo of the #200 display. Bandai has displayed prototypes like that before and we've been able to figure out the designs easily.

The 2000 Gogg is really similar to the Z'Gok in engineering. They're both great for being 15+ years old. They're also definitely solid candidates for a Revive considering their age.

Anyway, enough of that.

Been putting together the Hyakuren. Shoulders feel like they'll need a bit of manipulating in order to get the full articulation out of the arm while posing since they obstruct it a lot, but the base articulation is quite good. IBO kits are very fun to build.

So in the last day I made Barbatos and the Thunderbolt Zaku II. I think I had more fun with the Zaku II. The little switch to move the monoeye was a pretty cool bonus.

After topcoating in Tamiya Flat TS-80, I'm just barely dipping a small brush (3/0 Round) into some Enamel Aluminum paint and applying it to the edges of the kit. I'm by no means an expert as you can tell, but that's the jist of this enamel chipping technique. Depending on the color of the suit, you can use different colors and different ways of applying the paint.

I got Gelgoog on sale at HLJ to go with my Revive Rx78-2. Unfortunately I fucked up the Gundam when topcoating, and Gelgoog here isn't exactly stellar either. I'm still learning.

Well, I've never been keen on thinking about physics in terms of models. I'll keep that in mind and maybe just sand down the hole slots and cut a new hole for one drill to fit into.

I use it for diorama stuff. It's just still on my desk from barbatos's last thread. While it has other uses, I mostly mix it with water as a scenery fix to hold stuff like flock in place or mix it with dirt to spread it over the base as terrain.

Can't remember if it was in /m/ or here, but I caved in and got kampfer, he looks pretty sweet. I plan to get the zudah next and add to the list of zeon suits, since I only got 4 amongst the many feddie suits.

Going to finish the rest of the panel lining and decals tomorrow. Since the kampfer is not complete without the yellow on the gorillion thrusters it has, it looks like I am going to have to bite the rag and go and paint them too.

Trying to save the F71 I mostly ruined with an oil wash. I was originally going to do a mostly clean build but I've had to weather it up now.

Started on the feet as they're obviously going to take a pounding. Looks very stark now but I'm going to put a filter or two over them and hopefully get it to blend in more, failing that I'll just attack it with pigments and a dust coat.

The forearms don't like to close all the way. Otherwise it's great. It comes with a ton of weapons and if you are just going for how it appeared in the show then you will have a bunch leftover for kitbashing.

His limbs and weapons are also great for kitbashing onto other kits. Its just a shame that there's no chest gattlings like on the original Leopard.

I don't mask them at all. Just airbrush primer and base colors and then do the rest by hand. Masking stuff that small and trying to get clean lines usually turns out worse than just hand brushing a few layers.

Doing the white on the blade ligers whiskers by hand was awful though.
