Most of the complaints were people expecting the joints to hold on their own without the support of a stand, which is silly to assume it would be able too.

Because of that people also complained about how loose some of the joints were.

As someone who owns both variants I personally feel they're quite alright. I'd certainly recommend getting at least one of them if you are looking to get a horse for your figma.

Simply put it's Wasted Potential: The Franchise. The artwork/designs are fucking awesome, and Huke is a ridiculously talented artist (and when he does write, he writes pretty well) but all the people who got hold of the license to make fiction with it were fucking mongos. The game was handled by a no-name studio who just did shitty ecchi PSP RPGs, the OVA and the anime were done by fucking "I'm here to save anime" Yamakan, and the anime was done by Yamakan with writing by MARI FUCKING OKADA.

Some of the manga that got made are pretty good (Innocent Soul is particularly good) but they're all pretty obscure.

There is a very, very slim chance that someone might resurrect the franchise and do it properly, but don't count on it. For now your best bet is just to come up with your own story.

I have no problem against using stands. Or a preference for not having stands. Some figma can hold their weight well and have a solid center of balance, others like my Honda likes to lie down more than stand.
But to assume that even the good balancing figures still have variation in peg/joint strength. Some one might hands a, TIGHTER body. Which I hate them for.
Being that the stands and bases come with the figma there shouldn't be bitching about it.

I personally wasn't bitching, just stating that the pose you chose was simple enough to avoid using a stand, like the other person said. So far I have about 40 figmas, unless they have very little contact with their feet, most can stand on their own. None of the ones I own save for saber 2.0 have weak articulation on the bottom halves. I owned 5 Lucinas and none of them had weak ankles.
Just try a bit more to avoid the stands. Most of the time they're good for true action but standing poses aren't that hard. If you want to make your pics stand it more, avoid stands. Of course I needed to use the kick stand on the bike but it's absolutely impossible to balance without it.
All of that aside, I would use stands all the time but it doesn't feel the same. Nothing feels better than getting that sweet pose just right without any help. But if you feel better about using stands, use em. Fuck everyone else's opinion, do what makes you happy, senpai-san.

The figma one isn't out of scale and the price varies where you look and if you look right you can find it for cheap.

Revoltech one just looks like a pain to pose because there parts often fall off. I don't get why they made so much individual sections where they cute up anatomically.

Becase of stinginess, won't buy a figma above 3500 unless there are special circumstances to it, I'm yet to own most of the Black Rock Shooters, but the TV Dead Master I own is ROTF Bludgeon's mistress if that's of any worth.

Broke down and bought the Satsuki Figma to avoid any potential pirce sky-rockets after seeing Ryuko prices.

The only problem is going to be finding a subtle spot for it in the case to avoid awkward questions whenever family or non-weeb friends are over.

Back on topic, I wish the other aliens from the game (Nafe, Mazuma etc) had gotten Figmas. They were pretty cool designs. I also wish the game didn't suck. Like, I have a dream of a Darksiders-style hack-n-slash BRS game with a mix of the classic characters and some OC Doughnut Steels to add variety, all set in the Hollow World. Also, BRS herself being less of a useless moeblob and more of a snarky, cranky death machine who gets shit done...when she can be bothered.

My girlfriend got her first figma in the mail, bubble head nurse! Since she bought that I went ahead and got the pyramid head to match.
Didn't plan on getting him any time soon, but I'm always willing to support figma addiction.

Love both of the figures! Pyramid head is a little loose on the left ankle and the bubble head's "teeth" face looks pretty lack-luster.
But in all we think their definitely worth picking up.

I know I will. It's got a pretty big following, particularly Japan, which is significant given its cult status here too. American and Japanese taste in anime don't always align. The figma also has use with the large tank too, given she wore this during their first battle against Saint Gloriana.

He guys, Figuartsfag here, I have a Link Figma and I'm really not impressed by Figma joints bur have been wanting to pick up some animu girls and Saitama. Will some of you with more experience with Figma please tell me how much/if at all these joints bother you and whether or not you feel it distracts from the overall goodness of the figure? I can't just use my one Figma purchase to criticise the whole line.

Also on slighty unrelated note: with the Figma pz 4 be able to fit slighty taller figures (still 1/12)? I realize it's probably made to fit shorter animu girls.

I heard Link is pretty limited but stuff like Saber 2.0 are up there for Figma articulation. Joints are put in places where her dress doesn't hinder a lot and doesn't detract from the design beyond the typical arm and leg joints. Plus her shoulders can pop out a bit for more range.

For instance, Kanbaru Suruga is one of my most posed Schoolgirls and she moved pretty damn smooth given the time I've had with her. Nothing felt like it was warping or bending.

As for balance I normally stuck with their stands but on there own without them it's pretty doable. Tohsaka Rin for example stood pretty well in this shot without her stand even with her accessory (the red thing) Same with Mikasa with the visor.

Yeah, she's pretty baller. Not the most articulated compared to other Figmas but goddamnit, she looks so good. The sculpt is superb, the paintwork is beautiful, and she's just so...imposing. If for some reason BRS ever gets resurrected and we get more Figmas from the franchise I'd love to see Huke's original concept for her get a Figma (which was basically identical to the TV series except with a tattered cloak and even more armour).

Shame she's so expensive and so rare. I got her when IU was a collecting newbie before I knew what Mandarake was and paid, like, £200 for her on eBay. Doesn't help she only came with a limited edition blu-ray boxset of the BRS anime series.

Also, be careful with the little stand that supports her insane cannon lance. The peg broke on mine, though fortunately I was able to fix it with a bit of epoxy putty and a pin.

He is not as bad as some people will lead you to believe in these threads. Only thing really hindered is leg movement, but that's entirely on the design. The lack of accessories is disappointing, but then again this is true for most figmas. He can still pull a lot of poses easily if you know your way with it.

She's awesome. I know the elbow joints will bother some people, but I don't care. The paint is top notch and she poses great. My alternative neck didn't come with its own neck plug, but it's not a terribly big deal.

Depends on what kind of design you're into. You may find a figure that you may not be really familiar with, but if it looks good, you may have a good time.

A lot of Figmas are cute. Do you prefer fantasy? Because there's a lot of that, which often include wands and magical effect parts. If you like schoolgirls there's a metric ass ton of that as well. Those often come with more mundane, but delightfully detailed accessories, like bags or phones.

If you're looking for fun, look for more poseable figmas. This usually means figmas that can rotate mid thigh, often hidden by some knee sock. Newer figmas tend to be a bit more sophisticated, but the basic formula is generally the same. Cloth is represented by thin plastic-- so if you get a character with a frilly dress, you may be limited in this department and/or run into self balancing issues.

If you want schoolgirls, look up some slice of life series. If you want something cute and girly try searching up some magical girl series, or idol series.

Although I was not really invested in the series I got Isshiki Akane from Vividred Operation, she was affordable, cute yet cool, more poseable than the average figma, and came with a bunch of accessories.
