Our wizard was home schooled, and his teacher had told him if he ever touches a sword, he loses his magical power. We were gonna laugh at him but uhh it's not like we can say for sure his family doesn't have a curse or anything. Also he's our magic expert.

This is because you've been talking to your cousin hasn't it
martial classes use you up and as soon as you've gotten too old you're worthless.
At least with mage skills you become more worthwhile as you age.
Just ignore your level in fighter, maybe use it for medium Armour and just accept your build isn't optimal, don't undercut your future more than it already has been

Honestly I wouldn't put the vials on her back, speaking as someone had to run around with his canteen and gasmask on his ass. With your rucksack on, the canteen becomes a bitch to get, and the gasmask is usually a bitch to put back in an close properly, which you have to or you're gonna reach back there next time and find that it fell out while you were rolling around on the forest floor, and then you're gonna have a bad time. Only reason it was back there was to make room for magazines ans shit, so i'd keep the vials where they're easily reached.
