I'm looking for ideas for a horror campaign. I want it to be set in a single large location like a mansion or a school so that the players are together. Basically I'm looking for ideas as to why horror events are happening and maybe some good scare ideas if you got any.

I've actually had an idea for a game very similar to what you are talking about. The game starts in an evening party in some manner of rich socialite manor, from which people gradually start missing. The deal is that the family who owns the place actually has a cursed artifact inside their home as an heirloom, tonight is the date when the planets align and the object is at its strongest, and cultists are launching a discreet invasion of the home to use the thing to turn people to monsters.
