Tunnels and Trolls appreciation thread. I picked up the Deluxe

Never played it. Tell me about it please. Assuming I already have a stack of Fantasy systems, why should I get T&T too?

D&D, Earthdawn, The One Ring, WFRP, to name a few well-known ones. I feel they cover most eventualities.

I like T&T a lot. It's actually my favorite system to run. Generally, I play the 1977 Fourth Edition, because it's hard to argue with a $4.00 PDF.

Tunnels and Trolls is the 2nd RPG ever created after D&D. It was actually created in response to D&D. He found the rules for D&D convoluted and needed to be dialed back as there was far too much focus on minutia and not enough on the story telling. T&T allows you accomplish the same experience as D&D but taking half as long for character creation and especially combat. The Combat mechanic happens all at once instead of turn by turn which takes away the dramatic flair and tends to drag on a bit longer than it should.
