Any tips for running a Play by Post game? I'm DM for a discord game.
Be very clear and simple with your descriptions. Have a couple sentences ready for prime locations and characters.
Just use a voice call and use a text channel for maps and your dice bot. You'll get a lot more done if you're talking to each other live rather than wait 5 minutes for that one dude to decide exactly how he wants to type about flirting with the princess.

Push plots forward at 3x the rate you normally would, and adjust XP opportunities to favor exploration/social stuff or use milestones (assuming you use D&D)

O.K! Play by post!
Im going to take it that your going to be playing via waiting rather then real time.
If you playing just by real time text chat then thats a different thing. Real time can be run in almost the same way as a voice game.
I would recommend prepping some copy and past about what the room/dungon/people look like. But apart from that.
PbP
1. Get a system that works better with a small group. I would say fate. Or dont use a system at all.
2. the smaller the group the better
3.Everyone has to post before you advance the story. Even if its somthing like (I do nothing)
4. Have a different channel for dice rolling
5. Keep combat to a minimal and keep it high octan. No standing in a line hitting each other
4.Break up chaptures with images so people can clearly seen when they are scrolling where that part was.
