Does anyone know of a system that could be good for a ‘Who Framed Roger Rabbit' type setting? My group and I were having fun coming up with campaign ideas over the weekend, with one of the more popular ones being about a human/toon police squad in the 80's coke-crazed Miami.

As this has been a quite slow week for me I've managed to expand on the setting quite a bit and come up with a couple of ideas for cases. But I'm a bit stumped on which system to use.

I’ve been thinking of using Gumshoe or GURPS Cops as a basis and coming up with some new traits/stats for the toons. But I’m not quite sure how to handle combat when ‘lethal damage’ isn’t really a thing for the toons. They should, contrary to their human partners, be fine unless a certain mix of paint dissolving chemicals is involved.

Any ideas? If we’re talking offensive toonforce it’s fairly low-end, with the crazy feats seen in cartoons just being special effects.

Looks pretty good. I could probably get that and one of the others to work together.

Unless someone here knows of some other investigative systems worth noting? Am open to trying new ones.

I'm fairly certain this is the only correct answer.

Toon PCs use the Toon system; human PCs use the Call of Cthulhu system.

First reply best reply.

Gumshoe wants to be a detective/investigator setting - I'm not super familiar with it but maybe worth checking out.
