I feel like they're going to have a pretty shitty time of this one. Especially if I make the moat perfectly angled, and only half fill it with water.

Combine that with the higher than usual walls and their only option will be to try and cross the bridge... or siege, but that prevents its own problems for them.

Overall I like this cyoa, good job. If I may suggest, add some drawbacks for extra $$$, and also some option like

or something, so you'll also be able to better prepare for dealing with sieges.

I think the original was better. Even just the first page by itself. I much prefer the "accidental encounter" setup rather than "my family is really wizards", it's just that much more believable, plus I think the narrator comes off as less dumb. That, and it's more options with the same point pool. Even if Tier 2 is technically as powerful as the tier 2 version of the old CYOA it feels like you are getting less.

My $0.02, you should replace all tier costs with the final cost for that tier. The wings, for example, should have Tier 1 show 2 points, Tier 2 showing 5, and Tier 3 show 7. If you have to buy all the earlier tiers to get the later upgrades then there's no sense in doing an extra step, and it helps you balance costs at a glance too. Apparently needed, since the first line of notes says improved wings cost 8 points when they do not. Added bonus, that note immediately becomes irrelevant and can be deleted.

Separating a sixth sense for magic from the actual magic tree seems a bit weird. It's completely possible to be the strongest mage that's ever lived, and apparently have absolutely no feeling for what you're doing. Seems akin to giving super strength to one of those people with nerve damage that can't feel pain, heat, or anything else.

Unfortunately people are still going to make mistakes. If you use all-in-one cost then you are going to have people asking/assuming you have to buy the previous tiers. With prices as they are people might still assume the opposite, but the mechanics very much indicate that that would not be the case. Why would unlimited flight be purchasable by itself for the same cost as limited flight, and less cost than gliding? It's mechanically obvious the way it is, even if people might still screw it up somehow.

With increasing costs for each tier, I'm doubtful of this. Especially with such a small point pool. It's your cyoa, you do what you want with it, I just see less mistakes being made overall if someone's adding together four numbers instead of twelve.

A further note on the size of the pool, the old cyoa had about 68 points worth of options to choose from, this has about 86. To maintain the same ratio of available points to total pool we'd have to have 38.

In the past I've taken One and Many, but I feel like having an ability powered by killing other Artifexs will make me some enemies even if I don't actively pursue that end, so instead I'll rely on automatons created via Greatsmith and Seeker. My artifact helps to protect me from sniper fire, and Traveler is a get out of jail free card in case anything like an inquisitor slayer shows up.

Interestingly, Giver of Sanctuary allows me to transport mortals to other worlds. Take them into my sanctuary via non fatal portal, travel somewhere else via artifex portal, and then open a portal to the sanctuary again once there. The real reason for it though is just to have a home. I can store the results of my exploration and research here, which should be easily accessible even if I die (which should NOT happen with this build). Obviously with Seeker of Wisdom, my goal is essentially the study of worlds and advancement of knowledge, so death would be a huge blow. What exactly I do with that knowledge I can't even say.

I will spend most of my time in the Nothingness, running experiments and seeing what life does under various conditions. Really, I only intend to leave to get new samples, or when I source large, bulky masses that I can't just render from spontaneous life without going through the effort of making such a large creature. I'll work up to cat girls, as I'd like to run several stable ecosystems before introducing them.
I don't intend to spend a lot of time in combat, but I do intend to maintain magical, weaponized ecosystems in the far corners of the Nothingness, just in case. Things that I would need the Seed of Gluttony to get rid of. What could possibly go wrong?
By the way, that's what the Seed is for. A self replicating orb that can slowly turn a world into a lake of blood. I use it along with magic draining substances to contain any unfortunate accidents I run into during my work.

That isn't to say that I'll be completely unreachable. I can trade services to others, Artifex or not, in exchange for things that I don't wish to acquire myself. Having portals that can transport beings other than Artifexes across universes should always be in demand, and while I'm no Greatsmith, my crafts are useful, varied, and unique.
While I'm at it, I'm going to leave, "Journals," on my floating void islands, spread across the infinite Nothingness. Objects with memetic properties only available to a Natural Philosopher, meant to store information on the happenings around me, as well as a catalog of locations and results of my experiments in the endless void. Should I ever lose myself for some reason, there will be hints that few besides I can read, in a place that few besides I can reach, and my grudges will not die with me.

This build is themed almost entirely around shapeshifting. I can turn into pretty much whatever I want, as well as modify other beings to an extent using Medicus and (kind of) Natural Philosopher. Straight up "X beats Y beats Z beats X" is usually too boring by itself, but something that uses it as a base (like that one martial arts CYOA, or Fate: GO) is great if well-balanced.
Also, asymmetric choice pairings - locations being purchased by taking a specific drawback, enemies giving a boon rather than currency, etc.

Pretty good CYOA, but it could use a bit more refinement - either a general rework (maybe food, wood, and stone as individual resource pools, with gold acting as a 'universal' currency?) to represent different locations getting different defenses more easily, or just tweaking the balance a bit to make Flatland not so overpowered and extra walls either more 'meaningful' or less expensive.

Take my advice with a grain of salt, though; this is pretty good on its own.
