I have a vampire: dark ages session tonight. It's set in Rome and has so far been quite enjoyable.

I've had about five hour session, where a lot of things happened, but at the same time nothing did. DM is clearly rushing the game to the part that he wants us to play, so we briefly visited a lot of places and barely lingered in each, because he kept pushing us forward and forward.
It really spoiled my fun, because he clearly viewed the whole session as "Shit I have to get out of the way before the fun begins", and it showed.
>>
>>55198934
Thats really nice.

What did you play?

I was supposed to play a game of 5e today in a campaign that's been going on for 7-8 sessions now. That is, until the DM messaged us all and said "I'm cancelling D&D indefinitely because it feels like homework to me to write sessions." This is only after reaching the second location in the game. I should've seen it coming though, his whole campaign was comprised of characters, enemies, and lore from other sources (Primarily Dark Souls and MtG.) It just bothers me that he offered to DM and is now saying he can't be assed to do the DM part anymore.

Icons, it's a superhero system

Got my first in person session in months on friday night/saturday morning. It was awesome.

Fuck getting old and all this job and responsibility and scheduling stuff. Sure, I can shitpost from the office but I can't play. Having to use IRC to get us all together for any amount of time is hell.
>>
>>55199076
Thats really neat. I haven't played a supers game in ages.

Whats your character like?
Or do you DM?
>>
>>55198934
Went to the county fair, ate a lot of food and drank a lot of beer. It was pretty good.

I had a shit week and I spent all Saturday playing video games and watching porn.

But I appreciate the sentiment.

I meticulously planned out a nice SFW date with my underage girlfriend, plans that she promptly tossed in the garbage and turned the date into netflix&chill with emphasis on the chill part.

I'm very very tired but can't sleep anymore.
>>
>>55198934
My game is on hiatus because I'm moving soon and also because I terribly needed a break. I've got some big plans for my game, but I don't have a job lined up for my destination yet, so I don't want to schedule anything until my own schedule is worked out.

>>55202509
Outwardly I'm disgusted, but inwardly I'm jealous.

My Saturday session last night was amazing.

The Witchknight (a PC whom the player is effectively playing as "Kylo Ren wants to be a Hellknight) finally faced the music, and confronted the Hellknights working with them about the fact that the Hellknight's plan to reach "reach a perfect utopia via making *everyone* native outsiders" is in fact, pretty awful. The Hellknight commander he confronted was well aware that the Witchknight would win that fight (friggin Mythic characters man), but stared him down anyway. It was pretty tense, but by the end the Witchknight decided he couldn't kill the Hellknight commander just for being misguided (really, really misguided), even if he should have.

Instead, he exiled the entire company from Drezen, barring them from the safety of the city but also effectively giving them a three-day head start on the enemy fortress both the Hellknights and the PCs want to conquer.

He then informed the other PCs, who were angry that the Witchknight was once again putting himself in harm's way without them, and trying to carry the whole world on his shoulders... at which point the Witchknight revealed his Mad Wizard Lab, where he'd been doing experiments to turn demons "good" with Helms of Opposite Alignment (based on an encounter with an NPC earlier in the campaign). Much outrage ensued.

Finally, after that calmed down, the PCs made it to the enemy citadel... only to find the Hellknights already there, down to the last men, and losing hard against a stronger demonic force.

It was a good session.

Got back from a great session with my friends on saturday, to find out that my cat I took from where I used to live and was acclimating to a new house had broken out of a screen window while I was gone. I left the door open for him all night and I barely slept but he still hasn't come back. I'm scared.

He's busy living it up on the town, senpai. Just put out a bowl of water and food on the porch and read a book.

Good for you anon, my DnD group is no more. After several months of hiatus, several players will not have the time to make it each week. I used to like to play my cleric so it sucks.
>>
>>55202554
Dating a teenage girl is very invigorating at least until the novelty wears off, you should try it.

>>55203156
God, you sound like her. But yeah I'm a stressed out 29 year old with multiple responsibilities while she's a 17 year old without a care in the world other than how her volleyball team does, this kind of thing is to be expected

In fact I did! I was able to GM once again after a long time without a party, and it seems like the new one will last for a pretty long time. I GMed Numenera for players who played nothing but D&D before, but they adapted rather well , though at the times they tried to apply standard D&D logic and wondered why it wasn't very effective. Everyone seemed pretty excited about the session and they're looking to continue.

And it happened at the time when I thought that I will not be able to play in-person again. Nice things are nice.

And how long does that take?
>>
>>55198934
Me too, OP. It was yesterday, but it was marvelous.

The PCs roleplayed between themselves for a good five minutes straight, there was NPC drama, a few great combats brought on by terrain and better planning, followed by a few twists, turns, and marvelous reveals.

It was awesome.
>>
>>55198999
Man, this is so rough. In my last game, I had someone spying on the party as they left the city, just to put it in their heads that something might be up. I gave them a roll to detect the spy, and they made the roll. So I told them they saw a hooded figure looking at them by the gate who then went back into the city. Nothing dramatic about that, I expected them to move on. They dropped everything and ran back into the city to investigate. I had to invent city blocks and buildings, NPCs in them, this went on for almost forty five minutes. Finally they decided they wouldn't continue on the quest until they found this hooded figure. It completely derailed everything.

Hey creep allowing a dumb 17 year old to make poor decisions, you ruined the thread and should neck yourself. Simply the fact that you choose to announce this and speak of the "novelty" of it is cringe worthy to the utmost degree. Enjoy whatever worthless career you have chosen.
>>
>>55208245
lol what crawled up your butt?
>>
Had my worst session ever.
Not just bad, but uninteresting, and full of people making horrible decisions.
So solo-charging an entire Ork Warband as a basic bitch Assault Marine.

The only reason the party didn't wipe was because I couldn't stand the thought of another fucking game ending.
>>
Had the second ten hour shift in a row but makin mad dosh.

Also doing dishes counts as exercise in my book.
>>
If we're blogging right now, I've been great!
Over the last several years I've had a problem with all my friends not taking the game seriously and being complete retards ingame when I've been hoping to roleplay properly. I decided to actually fucking talk to each of my friends, one at a time, and each went on nearly the same tangent about how they wish everyone else would take the game seriously. Now I just have to wait til next weekend and let them all know everyone agrees with them.

>>55209363
I think he's trying to create his own copypastas. Nobody in the entire thread mentioned a 17 year old or the word novelty.

Game tomorrow. Looking forward to how badly the rest of the party cocks up the important political negotiations coming up. We already have the sky giants trying to kill us so this should be hilarious.

Also trying to learn Silhouette Core Deluxe so I can try DMing for the first time. Fucking book is already making my head spin but the system at least looks fun.

Weekend game got cancelled again at the last minute, and I'm grumpy about it because I keep turning stuff down to make the game.

I'm running a single player MMX-style campaign for a friend, and am coming to grips with the fact that, for the sake of interesting, compelling storytelling, I'm going to have to be an absolute bastard.

Player is playing a steel beret - a mass production grunt unit - specialized as a sniper. On her last mission as a beret, right after she got full system upgrades and became a full-fledged maverick hunter, her officer in-charge went maverick, killed a member of her squad in long, drawn-out fashion, injured another badly enough that he wasn't fit for duty and left service to lead a civilian life, and convinced the third that he'd be better off behind a desk.

The character has assumed that that OIC was just dead; a gravitic weapons system, and a contained micro black hole generator going super-critical and eating a third of a skyscraper would tend to do that. She's wrong, and in a few sessions she's going to learn that first-hand.

I feel like shit. The thing is, I know I don't have to play it like that. I could do any number of other things. But I want to. Because what better final boss is there than someone your players already hate with the fiery passion of a thousand suns?
