In many ways it's worse, but I don't think any changes they could have made to the FATE engine would have made it good for you anyway, so I'm not sure why you made this thread.

For those who actually care about trying new things, the Atomic Robo RPG is the only FATE based RPG I know of that's universally considered pretty solid.

Dresden is even worse about it. Spellcasting works off of it, and it even attributes things like convincing people to clever.

And here I thought that Cautious and Clever were too closely intertwined. That's a shame. Played one session of FAE, btw, and it caused arguments about which approach people were using. Bad system.
