If you appreciate the normal distribution, 4DF is actually a very familiar concept.

Fate conflicts sound great on paper but in practice I have not been too impressed.

I almost wonder if the dice and skills and actions should just be nixed and the game should become a sort of freeform, limited by a resource management wagerfest on fate points and invokable aspects.
