I believe I read about something about a custom that can be used like that somewhere. The villagers in that particular story fenced up a meadow and placed a pole in the middle of it. Upon the pole they placed a garland, then they let a bull into the fenced area. Any man who was brave enough and quick enough on his feet could try to snatch the garland from its resting place, and if he succeeded he was crowned with it as the king of the village for the rest of the day and became the most eligible bachelor in the eyes of the unmarried girls.

I've always been tempted to do a School Festival type thing where the group has to work together to run a booth and compete to to see if their booth makes the most money.
Only that I know my group would come up with some truly horrible booth.
