>You are not allowed to play these classes
>You are not allowed to play these races
>No magic allowed at the start

Well, that's one way to make DnD a balanced game. Male Human Fighters for everyone!
>>55005206
I assume these decisions were discussed and agreed upon by the DM and all players as a compromise?
>>55005206
Yes, and?
>>55005206
Expand.
>>55005206
Perfect, now we can begin our medieval campaign based on Camelot!
>>55005206
Well it's not like every setting has to have the kitchen sink thrown in.

Oooh, we're nights of the round taable!
We dance whene'er we're able.
We do routines and chorus scenes
With footwork impecc'able.
We dine well here in Camelot.
We eat ham and jam and spam a lot.

This isn't an attempt to purely cause discourse between people who want choices and people who want balance in their game (who could easily come to terms with each other if proper context was actually considered rather than left intentionally vague), at all! No sirree!
>>55005206
>I don't like the restrictions in a game I'm not going to play
Its good you know your preferences. Now you just have to get to understanding they're not everyone else's and that's chill.

I remember doing a game once where no one could be more than 4th level casters as a plot point. As the game went on, we had the opportunity to respec into fullcasters if we wanted to. Years later, I realized he completely stole the plot from Tales of Symphonia, but it was still a fun game.
>>55005206
Okay. I'll sit this one out, then. Call me when you guys start a new campaign.
>>55008337
On second thought, let's not do a game based on Camelot.
'Tis a silly setting.
>>55005206
>No Items
>Final Destination
>>55005206
A lot of game systems do just fine with humans only by default and no magic or character classes at all.
>>55005206
>implying anyone would play a kender voluntarily
