Hey fa/tg/uys,
Due to lack of players, I had to add some NPC adventurers to my group and one of them is - completely fluffed up and unstatted - artificer. Group is level 1, DnD 5e.
This artificer is accompanied by his mech-like walker who is basically cow-sized mechanic chicken skeleton with frontal part of torso, neck and head missing. In its "chest" is mounted a big box that has a long barrel protuding from it.
Basically, players think it is a walking gun. Now, I did mention to players, this thing can (unreliably) hit enemies at distance, but ... How do I make it weird? Different? Perhaps device launches "the barrel" just once at target and then serves as healbot that heals up all creatures in 30 ft area for 1 hp per round? Or maybe entire gun-metallic-chicken sets itself up, needs one action to be directed and fired, has operator's to-hit added to his ...?
Got anything for me, /tg/?
The machine explodes.
It just explodes.
Three turns later, an exact replica of the machine falls from the sky on top of the enemies, and explodes again.
A random amount of turns later, this happens again.
This keep happening until the battle is over.
