so, I've been hosting 40k games at my place recently, and a couple of people who come to hang out are interested in playing but not so much buying little army dudes.
long story short I'm going to start a space marine army that is sort of communal. I'm thinking a straight up pure primaris army. thoughts? is this a terrible idea?

Manlets are probably cheaper. Get some second-hand off ebay.

Get the Dark Imperium thing. Me an a friend pooled our money to get Assault on Black Reach back in the day, it ended up being used between four of us.
I don't really know if it's a good value but the models look good.

Consider Kill team/Victory is Vengeance, anon. It needs less models, and plays faster while being a nice intro to the setting.
Our board game group group pooled together and we each have small teams of our favourite races that we mix up a little and swap around between us each session. Every now and then we buy a box to expand on one of them.
