I am starting my first Delta Green experience in one or two weeks. I will be a DM, or whatever it is called in Delta Green.
We obviously chose DG because we want modern horror. The whole secret organizations and politics shtick is fine but not as important.
I kindly ask the wisemen of /tg/ for tips on first one or two sessions that will get me and my players acquainted with the setting.

Get drunk while DMing, prepare a playlist of at least 250 different tracks and sound effects, get a fog machine and a stroboscope, have some dungeon floortiles ready.

We once had a drunk GM because we thought it would be funny. They start spewing shit, like sometimes you wont know whats part of the game or not. Its good.Do it
Using the new edition? Or picture related?

The old edition, though if the new one is the shit we might get the new one.

The new ones rules are very clean and easy for new players to understand. Tje biggest differemce is that players dont havr to role for a skill if they aren't under duress or if nothing bad will happen if they fail. IE you still have to roll persuade and stealth checks but not Forensics checks to recognize things, to counter this some scenarios have things like "if the agent has X% in Forensics they notice/find this" with a higher skill finding more. If you have the old books on hand by all means use them, but all the scenarios and such are backwards compatible.

I've GM'd while under the influence. Honestly, the games weren't too different from how I normally run -- just a little more improvisational. The players enjoyed themselves, and so did I.

Ok cool, will have a look at the new one. Aside from crunch, any tips on how to do a moder semi-military horror work?
>>54902455
That's probably because you're a crappy GM.

Don't worry. It works like old-school semi-military horror. Just use a lot of non-sensical acronyms and never explain what they are.
