I haven't played an MMO in years but I've never seen an actual RP server work in the way you would think. I had a friend that played ever quest that claimed there was a dude that was litteraly a farmer or some shit and just hung out on some farm doing farmer shit though. I own secret world anything neat go on on there nowadays heard it just went FTP.

Secret World's reboot isn't any better than Secret World was to begin with, but the writing's also unchanged, so that's still pretty good. Loved that game's setting, I'll play the shit out of it just so I can see where the fuck it goes.

I used to RP in world of warcraft. I had a lot of fun doing it, there was a great community on my server back in late BC through Lich King. Things started going down hill in Cata, was on life support by Panda and declared dead by Warlords. I miss it, I had some great times and have some great memories doing it, but at this point I wouldn't go back. I don't think I could get back into it even if the community came back together.

I also dabbled in roleplaying in Eve Online, though it was hard to tell when in character and out of character tended to blur, especially when the market or combat came up in conversation.

Wouldn't go back to WoW in its current state, but honestly just being on RP servers was (for a lack of a better term) comfier than normal ones. Characters walk around town rather than just running and jumping the whole time, and chairs/benches actually see some use. I didn't really interact with other players much, but sometimes it was nice just to blend in with the scenery by sitting at a table at an inn and enjoying others have their conversations in the open.

I used to RP in World of Warcraft quite a bit. Was a member of the Blacktooth Grin on Venture Co. for a while before college started kicking my ass and I had to drop the game.

Fun memories include:
>harvesting hallucinogenic snails which exploded if you startled them
>Getting beaten by superiors because my troll couldn't keep her trap shut
>furnishing my own Grot hole in the keep pit because newbies didn't get a proper shelter, you got a fucking hole in the ground
>Getting my orc warrior invited to partake in the initiation ritual of the guild's dark magic arm and cocking everything up so bad I got evicted from the clan and beat to death's door.
They didn't actually boot me, but I did leave the character on that encounter since my sub was up and I didn't have the money to keep playing. I still don't know why they fucking invited me. Nak hated anyone and everything to do with fel magic (he was old enough to have still been around when the Dark Portal opened, fucker was ancient) and they basically invited him to an event where they were trying to turn a shaman into a warlock. So he:
>convinced the shaman not to do it, making the entire event completely pointless
>beat the shit out of a superior officer
>talked shit all the way back to the keep
>got demoted
>went into a bloodrage and had to get both arms and all his ribs broken before he finally passed the fuck out

My characters included a time-displaced samurai (yes, I even stole his character description from Samurai Jack), an old Soviet Era science project robot, a demon possessed by a human spirit, and a formerly retired magical girl.

Maybe, back in vanilla WoW I'd hang out in Darnasus on my mage and offer portals 50 silver a hop to Stormwind, portal service every 15 minutes or when raid was full, week nights 5 til 9 server time, Fridays and weekends 3 till 11.

I made bank selling portals and stacks of water and food in Silithus. If getting an escort counts then so does operating a Mage Mass Transit/catering business.

Fuck man, I did a ton of WoW RP during my "tfw no game" phase. So basically following my autistic highschool 3.5 group until a couple years back when I got serious about using Roll20.
Had some good times, had some retarded as fuck times that make me cringe to this day looking back.
The BC and Wrath times were amazing, even with me being a shit RPer and everyone playing edgelord Blood Elves and DKs. Had some good guilds, had some entertaining plotlines, all in all good stuff despite my own inexperience and autism
Cata was going downhill, and following Pandaland I haven't found a guild that's held my interest. Everyone went Coldsteel level edge with their Orcs during the siege of Org arc, and they still want to play their edgy Orcs to this day, despite the lore not working for that shit.
Anymore I don't even know why I play. RP is dull, dungeons and raids are dull.

Moon Guard on World of Warcraft reporting in. I have:
>Roleplayed a Gnomish Pimp unironically and it turned out to be one of my best characters.
>Roleplayed a complete mary sue that was so powerful that he would routinely solo-shitstomp pseudo DND sessions. Everyone loved it though because I was a male dwarf with a funny accent; he was extremely racist and actively insulted everyone he talked too but his accent was so thick it was almost impossible to tell what he was saying. I once wrote a 13 paragraph emote where I dunked the moon on some enemies because I said I would if I rolled 100. This was a serious RP guild.
