It always pains me to see this. I look through the catalog of Boros commanders, and I'm always dissapointed.
You have Aurelia, Gissela, Iroas, Maybe Basandra, and Depala if you build here right.

It seems like the only way to have an effective Boros deck is to shill out for power cards.

The deck I have for now is Aurelia with a nice colletion of mana rocks, MLD, and a Sunforger package with all the best answers I and find, including the best non-blue counterspells in the game.

I still haven't figured out what to what to do from there. I have a few equipment tutors, but few pieces of equipment other than Sunforger.
I'm also having trouble finding the right amount of creatures to wear said equipment.

I'm going to build Oona Mill. The idea is really simple; it's really a colourless deck. I just need to do monoblue artifact shenanagians and maybe spash some reanimator for shits and giggles. Doubling cube is going in there with a bunch of untappers like voltic key, dramatic reversal and paradox engine. How many rocks is too many?

Fuck the other shop's commander. Combo after combo deck. I fucking jumped through a million hoops, dealt with so many combos and still died to slivers playing their entire deck.

And they insisted that I had a chance when I said my deck wasn't strong enough to beat combo. If they said "gid gud", I'd be better off, but no they insisted my deck was fine and that I put up a good effort.

Every card you waste earning life to cast her cheaper is a card you could have used to give her evasion, haste or protection.
Even if you do manage to get her out on turn 3, you'll still have spent most of your hand in the process.

Just imagine spending all those resources to get her out on turn 3, and then paying 10 life to buff her, only to have be Plowshared once you finally get the chance to attack. You'll start turn 5 with less than nothing.

And if you don't get her out quickly then you won't be able to build up her counters. The game will have already been determined by the time she becomes a big threat.

Karlov is by far the superior voltron/lifegain commander. You don't have to pay 5 life to buff him, he's only 2cmc, and he has added removal utility on top of that.
If you try to build Licia as a voltron commander then you'll be pulled in two different directions that don't have much synergy.

I might work at the head of a go-big goodstuff lifegain deck.

I can even play my my Yidris and Sen Triplets decks anymore because my table just hates me out. Chris has a silver deck that people finally realized needs to die first (seriously fuck you Chris you fucking faggot). There is also a Jhoira MLD deck that one of the guys runs which is an instant kill.

It is actually really fun to put all these decks against each other though, makes for interesting games when we all play the meanest deck we got.

Because of its incredible versatility and built in politics. Let's say someone gets out Basalt Monolith and tries to resolve a Rings or a Power Artifact, tapping out to do so. Now, this is a win all but guaranteed, and with a card like Swan Song you would be able to stop it. But with Chain of Vapor, you can instead, look around the board. Is there another potential threat? Well target that person. Assuming the game hasn't gone on too long and they still want to win they'll need to copy it to avoid losing. For one mana and maybe a land you can take out multiple threats. And the fact that you can do silly things like toss down a Helm of Awakening, a hand full of net positive rocks, and then Chain of Vapor to make even more mana is just icing.

I've been trying to limit the amount of counterspells in my decks lately both as a challenge and as a part of a gentlemanly agreement among my playgroup. If I only was able to choose 1 counterspell to use, this would be it. It's the tactical nuke, the swiss-army knife, the things this spell can't stop are few and far between.

Because it hits someone>gains life>you get to pay 2 and do damage>you gain life again>pay 2 and do damage>you gain life again>repeat until everything is dead

Here's how that'd go down:
>gain any amount of life
>Meditation triggers, pay the 2
>deals 2 damage, you gain 2 life
>repeat steps 2 and 3 until everyone is dead
Which is why you'd need the infinite mana. Lifelink affects all damage dealt IIRC.
