Magic: The Gathering
>Can't reprint expensive cards in supplemental product because it gets scooped up and scalped by Investors
>Can't reprint expensive cards in Standard-legal sets because they're too powerful
>Reprints in Masters sets do nothing to prices due to their higher pack cost
This is not even counting the Reserve List cards, which would be an entirely different thread, but just cards Wizards has complete control over whether they are reprinted or not and consciously makes decisions not to.
Exactly how much longer can this continue?
Until Chinese fakes tank the prices of cards.

Speaking of Chinaman fakes where are the good ones and how long until they crash this market with no survivors?

>Exactly how much longer can this continue?
Until the inevitable collapse of Western civilization as we know it today due to its fatal neglect to deal with certain pressing issues. Give or take a year.

>civilisation collapses
>magic cards are still overpriced for a year afterwards

>>Can't reprint expensive cards in supplemental product because it gets scooped up and scalped by Investors
Easily solvable, just print more until investors give up.
>>Can't reprint expensive cards in Standard-legal sets because they're too powerful
Easily solvable, just raise the power level of Standard to Legacy level. Legacy is the best constructed format anyway.
>>Reprints in Masters sets do nothing to prices due to their higher pack cost
Easily solvable, just lower their prices to standard pack level and rebrand the Masters series "Chronicles".
All these problems are trivial to solve. The real issue is that WotC is unwilling to solve them.

>and rebrand the Masters series "Chronicles".
What is the easiest way they could do a targeted attack on scalpers? MtG doesn't have any good avenues for getting cards reprinted.

My body is ready for MTG 5D's. I will beat the post-apoc biker gangs using my card games playable on motorized vehicular devices.
