>Eldar is a Norse first name meaning "fire warrior"
Is it a coincidence ?
probably
GW probably got 'Eldar' from LOTR
>>54820903
I mean there was a theory about the Eldars bio-engineering the ethereal, who developed the Tau and their caste system
And one of their caste has a "fire warrior " unit
It has to be more than a coincidence
>>54820877
>eldar, humans, and tau can crossbreed
Wow.
>>54821059
It actually doesn't have to be.
>>54821059
yeah except GW added the Eldar years before they even came up with the idea of Tau
>>54821170
And ?
>>54821170
Bamco also came up with alphamon years after omegamon.
>>54821264
And the Tau Castes were made long after, based on the Classical Elements you mongoloid. Stop looking for shit that isn't there.
>>54821310
But Ether is not a classical element wich fit my theory that the Eldars made the Ethereal in order to make a xeno race imune to chaos
>>54821461
I'd call you out on it, but Farsight has had that literally damned chaos blade that steals the life of others unto himself with no ill effect for what, over 100 years at this point?
>>54821537
Unknown if that's a Chaos blade. I mean, as a Tau he'd certainly be resistant to any Chaotic effects, but considering the circumstances of its finding it seems more likely that it's actually one of the Blades of Vault. The name and blade's characteristics (not to mention aesthetic as well) seem to reference this fact.
Some people theorize it's the Necrons as well. Those people are stupid.

Standard 5 element pattern.
Fifth can be called Spirit, Void, Aether/Ether, etc. depending on translation, translator's bias and/or mystico-religious roots.
Four element patterns only ever refer to physical world.
tl:dr Learn more about mysticism before setting yourself up as an authority!

What does this have to do with the Aeldari?
>>54820877
So what, the elves actually fucked Blueberries and made the Tau? That's fucking hilarious.
>>54820877
artist?
>>54820877
>reading this much into GW simply taking the word "Elder" and doing a letter swap.
>>54820877
It means more of "fire handler", as in the guy taking care of the fire. There is no "warrior" part in the name

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aether_(mythology)
"Aether /ˈiːθər/ or Aither (Æthere, Ancient Greek: Αἰθήρ, pronounced [aitʰɛ̌ːr]), in ancient Greece, was one of the primordial deities. Aether is the personification of the upper air.[1] He embodies the pure upper air that the gods breathe, as opposed to the normal air (ἀήρ, aer) breathed by mortals. Like Tartarus and Erebus, Aether may have had shrines in ancient Greece, but he had no temples and is unlikely to have had a cult."
