What's a good system for playing as an exorcist?does the traditional exorcism exist in 40k? or is it just shooting the possessed in the head?

While I don't have any experience with it, I'm guessing that Unknown Armies could handle that
Mythras could handle it with Spirit Magic. Mage can probably do it as well.

Dogs in the Vineyard handles exorcisms pretty well. Or at least, it handles them just as well as it handles gunfights and theological debates, which depending on how you feel about narrative systems is either great or terrible.

Kult. Some Vampire/Warewolf light World of Darkness.
In 40k, you generally shoot the posessed person in the head, then burn the body. There are exceptions, but not enough for a non-executioner exorcists to exist.
If you're talking about exorcising an evil spirit from a place, not a body, that's a different thing.

oh, too bad. I was hoping to see some incantations for exorcising evil spirits. But what about the Exorcists chapter?

During their initiation process, the Exorcists are allowed to be possessed, and the daemon is exorcised after a time. This is supposed to strenghten the warrior in question against the corrupting powers of daemons. If he survives off course.

Suggest you take a closer look at the 40K RPG lines...
Since Exorcised is an elite advance/background allowed in the game, "logic" implies the existence of someone that successfully performed an exorcism, i.e. an exorcist.
Hunter: the Reckoning by White Wolf or In Nomine by Steve Jackson Games would be my top picks.

> In Nomine
looks pretty interesting, thanks anon

oh ok.
I guess i'll just have to make my own Low/High gothic incantations to make the exorcism sound cool.
