Better equipment with nothing to use it against, except to steamroll NG+ even harder than before, and to top it all off, a shitty bonus boss that connects the game to Chrono Cross.

Don't get me wrong, CC was a fun game, but it took a fat wet dump all over CT's characters and setting, killing characters either by erasing their timelines or by just having a villain murder one offscreen.

Would have been better as a stand-alone game.

Killing every character as anticlimactically as possible off screen has a way of leaving a bad taste in your mouth no matter what else you do with the game

Chrono Cross is one of my favorite games, but from what I've heard I'm glad I've never played the original.
CT looks like a good game, but I don't feel like ruining CC for myself.

Strike! is pretty good for vidya inspired stuff. The playtest doc for the expansion even has team combo moves (admittedly, I don1t remember if they are any good).
