Which one is worse:
>pretty model with shitty stats
or
>ugly model with great stats
Any game.
both

What stops you from using a pretty model as a counts-as for the one with great stats?
>>54656747
I frequently play with pretty models with shitty stats due to the model being pretty. But I do find I start to like the look of models better if I find out they have decent rules.
>>54656747
The first one. You can at least proxy or use conversions for option 2.
>>54656747
many people will field a model if it's good, no matter it's ugly (W40k Chaos Heldrake once)
barely anyone will use a unit that has a debatebly cool mini but it's stats are shit (most Chaos players will pray how awesome the Chaos Dreadnaught is, barely anyone will use it)
That being said, I would say a nice model with bad stats is worse, since we if it's nice we would like to see it fielded more often, and we don't.
Follow up: favourite model with shit stats?
I'm gonna go with Wildcats from Infinity. Nice looking, but subpar in the field.

The worst is Astra militarum veterans.
Good stats,
No model
>>54656987
God forbid you have to put them together or something. As far as units with no model go they're not even remotely an issue
It rarely matters to me.
I use wargame minis for my tabletop. If it looks cool, it goes in the basket.

There's Forge World upgrade pack, but it's Forge World.
>>54656747
If you buy a pretty model despite its trash stats, it's because you genuinely like the model, and you will keep it indefinitely.
If you buy a model because it has good stats despite being ugly as sin, as soon as they nerf it you'll end up with an ugly model with shitty stats that you'll find trouble selling.

Interesting, women react the same way when they learn you have money.

>Astra militarum
The fuck is that? You mean guard?
>>54656747
>ugly model with great stats
I play miniature games mostly for the visual spectacle of it
playing against some shit ugly army optimized for winning games is never a good feeling
I don't even play any wargames, I just like to collect and paint Warhammer miniatures.
So, pretty model all the way.

Well, I'm not going to judge your tastes but if you just want pretty miniatures you'll find a lot more in other brands, specially, not wargaming brands.

One is a tank, and one is a goblin barbarian
>>54656951
>shit stats
>subpar
I don't think these words mean what you think they mean...

Compared to what? They are inexpensive and have useful profiles for every range when linked. The biggest drawback they have is the bizarrely overcosted HRL. Would you rather they be Bolts?
