Hey jumpers, what's the most use and value you've managed to get out of a single perk in the course of your entire chain?

Demon Spawn from Hero BBS. The sheer fucking versality of it once you're powerful enough to make demons equal to baseline humans is fucking unbelievable. I've toppled nations in multiple chains solely due to being able to make 100% loyal undercover agents at will, biggatons be damned. It's probably one of my favorite perks, period.

I'm not sure yet. I'm torn between going straight there after Elder Scrolls and picking up two new companions, with Katia and myself as Meisters, or hitting up Night in the Woods first, recruiting Mae, and dual-wielding both of them as cat-themed weapons.

It's such a hard choice. Probably going to go with the latter though.
At least I'm halfway finished with the Items and on a roll.

Worm's Contractor is broken as fuck. Seriously, if you have 5 or 10 people you can trust to give powers out to, you can do some utterly bonkers shit.

Give one person the Reverse Engineering tinker power and cycle through all the specialties you can think of, you now have access to all the technology. Given a few weeks of preparation and build up, and you can start building your own shards, but smaller and vastly more efficient.
>>
Can someone remind me of the name of the jump that allows you to take a family member as a companion?
>>
>>54537444
There's the Harry Potter jump; one of its scenarios allow it. Also Charmed has some options. There are others, but those are just off the top of my head.

Man, I'm already going to be making so many cat-based puns people are going to accuse me of having Madness of Cats. Besides, I'm not hitting up Lunars at Jump 5. I'm not planning on hitting up Exalted at all, honestly. Maybe Sidereals really late, because I think they're fun.

Catklave is an awesome name for a weapon though.
>>
>>54537436
It isn't quite broken as it is just good. It's not the only power in the Jump you'd want to take, and it's balanced pretty well against the others, and if we're being honest here, it's not as if the other powers are just sitting around looking pretty, all of them are useful for certain different themes and abilities so none of them are really useless.
>>
>>54537196
The jumps still a wip, but I think the Archie Sonic jump might have a good contender in Live and Learn.

It basically ensures that you keep finding opportunity for adventures and self-improvement, which sounds insane if you take it early and follow through on them.

Dear /jc/,

Fuck you. I used to be productive, really fucking productive, but all this talk of lore and personal stories and shit made me do something I swore I’d never do. I downloaded and installed WoW. For 13 years I’ve avoided that productivity void, and now I’ve got two draenei, two wargen, and a blood elf. Two of them have steady RP partners where my undisclosed backstory is that they’re jumpers.

I hate you all.

If you're going Drop In, use Asura or the Power Great Old One. If you're going Meister or Weapon, use Death or Excalibur. If you're going Witch, use Eibon. Simple.

As for the 'sueish-ness', keep in mind that as the Fragment of anyone besides Death or Excalibur, you will be intensely watched by Death and his followers. Asura nearly drove the world to Madness, and Eibon was a dick who was completely obsessed with obtaining knowledge by any means necessary. Even the Power Great Old One, while mostly benevolent, did some pretty shady things and had to seal himself away because he was going to drive everyone to madness if he stayed. So more likely then not you're going to start out with a lot of people suspicious of you. Hell, even as Death or Excalibur's Fragment, you'll have a lot of enemies in the form of Witches and the Evil Humans of the world, plus Asura will have a serious bone to pick with you once he gets loose. And you'll be expected to actually do shit as Death's child, though maybe not as Excalibur's.

>>
>>54537865
Didn't they try to reinhabit their bodies but the replicants developed their own personalities which rejected their Gestalt?

>>54537843
WCS was a magical disease that was causing humans to go extinct. They then did some technosorcery to seperate the body & soul. Then created artificial humans based on their body. They were then suppose to repossess their replicant bodies. However the replicants developed their own consciousness. Which rejected their soul/original consciousness.
>>
>>54537833

>>54537717
Eidolon's power is having ever power. Contractor's power is having every power, but actually having access to more of them at the same time and the ability to control which ones you get.

It's straight up better than Eidolon, especially since Eidolon can't access any of the really good powers consistently. Contractor improves with time too, and starts out with access to better powers than Complete Arsenal.

Not really the best for personal biggatons, but it easily beats out any other power in sheer potential for build up and versatility, especially since it self synergizes and can emulate pretty much ever other power on the roll table.

Well that seems like a bad situation all around, what did they program thoughts and emotions in before they transmigrated or something?
>>
>>54537928
>Didn't they try to reinhabit their bodies but the replicants developed their own personalities which rejected their Gestalt?
Some Shades did so out of desperation and the process actually worked for them, but then Nier and Kaine go through killing as many as they can and those guys later die of WCS because it was still around.
>>
>>54537948
The Jump version specifically let's you grow how many of them you can have while also getting rid of the weakness Eidolon originally had.

Okay. You have an opinion. We get it. Other people have differing options. They generally aren't going to change it because you keep beating on the horse. Let it go, it's dead, we get it, you like Contractor, move on.

>>
>>54537968
Maybe you can grow the number and power, but that's irrelevant because every power on the list grows in power. The jump is explicit however that no, you cannot overcome the weakness that Eidolon had, because you can't develop new abilities that the shard didn't have originally. Only improve on the ones already present.
>>
>>54537970

>>
>>54537704
There are two ways you can do this. If you don't take the Snow Storm drawback, just stop Nier from killing his Gestalt, the Shadowlord. The Replicants and Gestalts will eventually re-integrate, and humanity will exist again. However, in the process you will have incidentally murdered all the Replicants as their consciousnesses are overwritten by the Gestalts. Maybe that's not something you care about, not considering them real people. If it is, though, you might want to have some way of your own to transfer consciousnesses, and put the Replicants minds into all new bodies that you've made.

If you do take Snow Storm, then you get in on the ground floor. You're there during the initial White Chlorination Syndrome outbreak. Right at the beginning, in fact. What you're going to want to do is round up every particle of maso you can find, so it doesn't drift on the wind and wind up infecting people. This might not be so bad, you've actually got about a year before the Grotesquerie Queen's spirit manages to pull herself back together and start directing the plague, so people won't be getting sick yet. Make sure that no one, and I mean NO ONE tries to nuke Japan to contain the infection, maso is not destroyed by high heat. It'll just spread it into the upper atmosphere and make containment impossible. Then, once you've gathered up all the maso, you're going to want to throw it into another dimension to cleanse the plague of extradimensional magic particles from reality. Fortunately, maso provides the means to do that, all by itself.
>>
>>54537986
They did though, and her larents decised that meant hide her power and make her afraid of it.
>>
>>54537997
>Use ultimate life form and dri k all the cauldron vials for all the powers.
That's not how Ultimate Lifeform works, you'd instead want to find some way to peek through the dimensional barriers so you can just copy Entity biology.

There's a different perk in that jump that might work. I forget the wording, but I think it's something about being able to have multiples of powers that you're only supposed to have one of.

Replicants are worthless anyway, since they can't reproduce.
>>
>>54537959
I think it's more like they couldn't remove every trace of themselves from their bodies, and the tiny bits that remained eventually regrew back into personalities. From what we know the Replicants act pretty similarly to the original.

Yes, but if I heard that, the conclusion I would draw is that if the power isn't controlled, then peasants will freak the fuck out and try and lynch her. Because witchcraft. And lo and behold, that's pretty much exactly what happens. It's not exactly a tremendous leap in logic.

Sword and Sorcery

>Bones of the Earth
Not super familiar with Conan and Conan-esque stuff so not sure what this amounts to other than sounding sort of like the Underdark. Either way not good.

>26 years old
>Warrior 50
Went warrior without any fighting perks which is kind of funny.

>Born to be Mighty
Pretty simple strength perk really.

>Lost and Forgotten 350
This is really great, adds loads of mysterious esoteric stuff to every setting to explore and discover. Adds some depth to not particularly deep settings and the mysteries of some settings could be pretty valuable to find out about. It's a little dangerous and won't always be worth toggling on but it's great for when I'm bored.

>A Cry of Thunder 500
Shouting for fun and profit. Scales with charisma/force of will making it a really useful perk.

>By Might Divine 800
This one gives me a boost to charisma/presence depending on my strength and skill which is pretty wacky at higher levels. Particularly given this also feeds into A Cry of Thunder so gives me more glorious shouting when I get better at fighting/stronger.

>An Occult Tome 900
Is a book of all my magical knowledge. Probably wouldn't let anyone read it except for my companion and admittedly I'm mostly taking it so when I take an amnesia drawback I can speedread it and don't have to worry about accidentally exploding shit with magic.

>A Weight Upon the Brow 1200
Is the coolest thing in the jump IMO. Grants more charisma/presence the longer I wear it and becomes increasingly fancy. I mostly like the appearance change mechanic.

>Branded and Shamed 1000
Means I have to hide a brand on my body which between illusion magic, clothes and make-up shouldn't be too much of a problem. Maybe they branded me before they chucked me in the Underdark.

It's a neat jump, took me this long to look through it because I thought it was of some setting I wasn't familiar with rather than basically a generic.
>>
>>54538171
Look, you keep asking this question but you're going to have to give up some more details if you expect a more specific response. Basically every Jump with a Background and the option to make up OC Companions allows you to take a family member along.
>>
How do you decide what your OC companions look like?
>>
>>54538058
Worm_Anon literally said that with time you'll have access to literally any power that could have possibly been a parahuman/shard power by any stretch of imagination.
>>
>>54538230
I thought Id given sufficient details. A jump that allows you to companion a family member from real life.

>Basically every Jump with a Background and the option to make up OC Companions allows you to take a family member along.
Huh. I suppose it does, doesn't it.
>>
>>54537914
I assume it's sort of a case of remembering everything you notice.

It's not really infallible in so far as you can still fail to pay attention to something but if you've read a book and really concentrated you'd remember its content exactly.
>>
>>54538281
Since when did makers offer oc companions?
>>
>>54538171
The only jumps I know of with that feature are SB exclusives. You're shit outta luck if you want to bring IRL family along otherwise.
>>
>>54538258
Yeah, and you won't be able to control which ones you get anymore then you did to begin with, because the only thing that grows with Worm's powers are the things they have to begin with. Control would be a totally new ability, and thus you will never gain it.

All parameters of the power grow. Which means by the time you got to the power level as described in my post, Complete Arsenal would be so good at picking powers you need at the moment, that you wouldn't need or want to choose anyway.
>>
>>54537444
Mad Men and ASoIaF do so explicitly and any of the options in my jumps that say something about how you can make a new companion can as long as the backgrounds make sense.
>>
>>54538281
I thought you were talking about a specific IP you were looking for. But yes, considering you can make the Companion from the ground up with an OC Companion option, you could bring along someone close enough to the original as to not be noticeably different. Especially if you pick a near-Earth world to do it in.

>>54538329
A lot of them do if you actually read them. Most of my Jumps allow the option. The few that don't simply lack the option because they were my first few attempts.

I mean, literally all the Kamen Riders allow them and that's just scratching the surface.
>>
>>54537492
Actually thinking about it in Harry Potter you can create siblings as companions without doing a scenario.
>>
what exactly is sorcery in Viking saga based on?
>>
>>54538385
Okay. If you're going to wank Complete Arsonal that hard, I guess it's reasonable to assume that QA can eventually grow to control things that aren't bugs. It's not a new ability after all, just an expansion of preexisting parameters.

Fuck off.
>>
>>54538452
Sorcery in Viking sagas.

The necromancy aspects in particular are based on Princess Skuld.
>>
>>54538471

>Maybe you can grow the number and power, but that's irrelevant because every power on the list grows in power. The jump is explicit however that no, you cannot overcome the weakness that Eidolon had, because you can't develop new abilities that the shard didn't have originally. Only improve on the ones already present.
I actually agree with you, faggot. There's a factor of Complete Arsenal that chooses the right power for the moment, so it'll over time become better.

Heathers: The Musical

>Dang Dang, Diggity Dang Dang!
Musical perk. Shame I can't visit the movie instead as I'm not a huge musical guy (Nightmare Before Christmas and Muppet Treasure Island notwithstanding).

>No Name Kid
The blowing shit up background. Also justifies me not being American.

>Always on the Move
Is a really great freebie, leave town without anyone caring.

>Ich Lüge Bullets
Mostly just a bullshitting perk but welcome.

>Drain Cleaner Mix-Up 100
Allows my plans to be slightly more slapdash as people will generally make mistakes when I want them to. Good for not putting in much work and for taking on people who usually don't make mistakes.

>Holy Shit! Holy Shit! Holy Shit! 300
Got so many of these perks that make me underestimated that I must seem downright retarded when I turn them all on.

>Say Hi To God 600
Lets my explosions only explode that which I deem to be marked for explosion. A perk that lets me be careless with a grenade launcher is pretty much essential.

>Best Friends Since We've Been In Diapers 800
Loyalty perk which are always welcome.

>The Jumpers 900
>Ramona: Honorary Heather, Solid Teflon, Popular, A Mythic Bitch 200, It's Time For Big Fun 500, Red Scrunchy, Incriminating Note 600
Changed my companion's name. Ramona means protecting hands which is fitting given I don't really like fighting my own fights. In this she's a party throwing, blackmailing megabitch. Useful for politicking and general snidey comments.

>Infinite Slushies
Goes nicely with the milkshakes I got from Dodgeball for some diversity.

>Long Jacket 1000
A duster that makes people not notice me despite wearing something as silly as a black leather duster.

Didn't take the drawback that stops the deaths from happening. Think that makes me a bad person but at least I can thwart JD in various comical ways.

Well, Soul Eater was after WoW. So thanks to retcons caused by the Soul Eater updates and the comin WoW update... I now have 4 weapon partners.

One is my original weapon, one of my most loyal companions, now with an imported gun. The second is her new twin, because of the Weapon Siblings import.

Third and fourth, I've got an weapon import slated to give two versions of Xal'atath, Blade of the Black Empire (the CP-bought version and in-jump version both) human forms. This is totally a good idea, and not at all a TERRIBLE FUCKING DECISION. Both of them assure me of that.

Anyway, so Soul Eater is twins galore for me.

Jumpers, how do you deal with the ridiculous amounts of waifus in the chain? I'm very picky when if comes to my 2d wives, but I'm already at over a dozen when I list them all. But I don't like harems, and I generally stay low in settings and follow the main plot and fuck the main heroine. Importing that many people obviously wouldn't be possible, and I can't fuck with literally the protagonists if I'm in a relationship.

How do I solve this dilemma?
>>
>>54538859
It's sorta weird, because it's not really conceptual, but it functions on that level of binary potency. It's not so much everything, since stuff like gravity and nuclear count separately, as well as all the elements. Physical damage seems to mostly be kinetic force.

>obviously wouldn't be possible

>>54538859
No, it wouldn't. Assuming you can even get it in the first place. There's no evidence that Null/Abs/Refl are anything more than game mechanics in SMT and Persona. It'd take some serious wank to say you can gain those levels of conceptual immunity in-setting.

People have already covered a large number of answers, all of which are good and many of which I practice. But here's my suggestion
Hive-mind of clones. Not a normal clone where it's an alternate version of yourself, but clones where you see through their eyes, hear through their ears, control their body as much as you control your own body.
So it's more like each body is an individual finger rather than your whole body.

Think how Pein controls his extra bodies, where it's a single mind controlling half a dozen bodies at once.

I was talking about gas giants existing /at all/ in that universe, instead of just in the solar system you're in.

Assuming you're even in a solar system, which isn't even a given when talking about fantasy settings.

There was no point to any of this in the first place. I know you feel like your jumps will be ignored because of the recent influx of high-powered jumps from Valeria and others, but all you're doing is furthering a self-fullfilling prophecy. If you're letting other people's jumps affect your desire to expose people to the setting, and experience it in their chains, then you're doing something wrong.

The Ulster Cycle is a part of Irish Mythology, which have these bundles of Cycles which are kind of hard to explain. Another Irish Cycle is the Fenian Cycle. (Which has among other things really smart salmon).

>>54540523
Fire Emblem is kind of like Final Fantasy where some of the games have different settings and cosmology, so there isn't one unifying Fire Emblem Timeline outside of Archanea, which is,

Fire Emblem Genealogy Of The Holy War -> Fire Emblem Archanea/Valentia (Valentia technically takes place in the same ten year timeframe but it had way too much material to share a jump with Archaea. I am not looking forward to reconciling how that'll work for a jumper in terms of timeline. Might just have the continuity drawback say that the benefactor will fix any weird paradoxes that might happen) -> Fire Emblem Awakening

Elibe + Tellius are also a multiple game settings but the jump is meant to encompass the timeframe as a whole. (Hence why I use the continent names in those jumps instead of their game names. And yes, technically Geneology should be called "Jugdral" following this naming scheme but it's too late to change it now. It will bother me into eternity)

Sacred Stones is its own thing.

There's evidence in Fates that it takes place before ALL the Archanea games but I prefer to ignore that part, frankly because I detest Fate's plot as a whole.

Personally I would suggest that you take ALL these jumps before you go to Fire Emblem Heroes simple for the continuity option.

>>54540639

Salamander Princess is another one I look forward to writing. "Hot under the collar" is not just a pun in her case. Her tower is going to be all volcanoes and fire elementals, so bring a few extra water skins. I plan her personality to match.

As much as I wanted to put a layer of warmth under Reaper's cold exterior, I want to represent a range of personalities as best I can. A few darker personalities will be necessary to achieve that.

I'm glad you're enjoying my work.

>>
>>54541327
You can try, but anything beyond a perk, ability or item's direct description isn't fiat-backed. For example, you couldn't learn Epic Magic in D&D unless you had a perk explicitly stating you could.

It is unclear. Bought Companions come back in like, 8 hours, if I remember correctly. Podded are something like a day or a week later. Some jumps explicitly say that items respawn in a day, or in a month, or in whatever increment. Items respawning and having anti-theft protection is one of the most common house rules, but no one's ever tried to codify it (for obvious reasons). Matter of preference at that point, if you don't want to play by RAW and have purchased items be vulnerable to destruction and theft if the jump doesn't specifically say something on that topic.

Another silly question. Pokemon Mystery Dungeon gives you Pokeglot for free, since you become a Pokemon. Does that make the CP I spent during the intro to jumpchain Pokemon Training one obsolete/wasted?
>>
>>54542067
Yes, except for the value you got out of it between the two jumps.
>>
>>54541745
Err... I'm not sure how a Cairn Wraith would work out. They're former Necromancers, sure, but the process of "extending their lives" the way they did pretty much reduces them to pale shadows of what they once were.
But, well, it worked with the Golems for Tomb Lords.
>>
>>54542094

It was my third jump. My second was InFamous.... I was using the big Quicksilver combined one. X-X
>>
>>54542067
There's a drawback in mystery dungeon to not gain Pokeglot, that becomes free points.
>>
>>54542067
Mostly, yes.

But now you can take the drawback that says you don't get Pokeglot in Mystery Dungeon for free points.
>>
>>54542067
Basically. Heads up: I don't have a source for this. It's just something anons said a long time ago that wasn't contested. But supposedly, Quicksilver explicitly allowed getting Pokeglot in Trainer counter the drawback that would prevent you from getting the Mystery Dungeon equivalent, since the version from PT has little value outside of Pokemon settings.
>>
>>54541886
>Lahmians
Bah. All the others are just sub-origins for Neferatem's original breed.
>>
>>54542147
But... That doesnt make sense since the jumpchain rules explicitly states that Drawbacks -always- counter/nullify abilities. Otherwise, they're not drawbacks. So the No Polyglot drawback overrides the PMT Polyglot for 10 years. Then you can chat with pokemon again.
>>
>>54542194
Well quicksilver said it multiple times, as the archive shows.

Back in the old days it was that Drawbacks counter/nullify abilities FROM THAT JUMP. And powers from other jumps could counter Drawbacks that didn't take that into account.
I'm not certain when the idea behind how Drawbacks work changed.
>>
>>54542232
okay but he's a shithead so why should I take his ruling over the JumpChain ruling.
>>
>>54542194
The drawback does read "unless you have another way to talk to Pokemon" and "you don't get it just for being a Pokemon."

In fact, most of the Drawbacks seem geared towards cutting off certain in-jump perks and other benefits of being a Pokemon.

Uh, no. The Third Magic was involved in the creation of one of those beings, and an aspect of the other, but those aren't you usually become when you undergo the ritual.

Because the Third Magic can be used for multiple things? It's not /just/ the ritual that ascends your soul, it's an entire magic system based on the manipulation and transferal of souls and spirit energy. They certainly /weren't/ done with the ritual we were talking about, however, or if they were it was a derivative.

But their world isn't gone, and they get the same "keep going or go home" choice that you do.

That said, I do point out that while their world hasn't changed even a second past their departure, they have and will continue to change. If they turn back, they will go back knowing that there is more out there that will forever be beyond their reach. Their world, no matter how vast, will never seem large enough again.

(Note: I don’t know the game so I have no idea how badly a screwed myself.)

We are scientists of freedom and our lab coats and pocket protectors are symbols of justice.

500 years is a long time in anyone’s life. It is rather humbling to be there at the start of an empire watch it grow from a humble planet to expand out through the rest of the galaxy. We made contacts and alliances with various alien species, We turned uninhabited worlds in to paradises and we built our own federation based on fairness and equality.

Even our species changed and grew over time as I used genetics from my other jumps to turn ordinary people in to supermen. In 500 years we forged an empire, created wonders that even I didn’t think were possible at the start.

While I helped greatly at the beginning with giving technologies from other jumps it soon blossomed in to something far beyond that.

On a strange note the sword with no name has disappeared from my warehouse, tests show it was becoming sentient or perhaps had been so for a while.

Got a question about Drakengrad lore. Did the Intoners basically introduce magic to the world and become gods? Some anon said that even drakengrad didn't have magic originally, so i'm trying to find out where the fuck it came from. I'm reading through the wiki and it's kinda vague though.
>>
>>54542798
>Be glad when I've got them all updated.

Don't suppose you could update a few other jumps on the drive? Some of Wild_Card's and Red's haven't aged well at all.
>>
>>54542825
Alright, apparently that didn't happen at all. It seems like all that's known about the gods is that they are pretty shitty to humanity.
>>
>>54542825
No, the event that introduced magic to Drakengard was...okay, originally Drakengard was just our word. But back in like 1000AD or little before, a city form the future crash landed in Drakengards world (It's the place with all the modern buildings in the Drakengard 1 and 3 games) and brought magic with it. The Dragons and the Flower also came along with it, the Flower eventually creating the Intoners (Or it fused with Zero who then accidentally made the rest of the Intoners).

Magic came from the future basically.

They all have plans.

One wants to fix the Wasteland when they get back, return a chastened humanity to a world where everything isn't trying to kill them. Maybe even cure the Ghouls and Super Mutants. Another wants to apply MAD SCIENCE solutions to the problems of her homeworld and any worlds like it. Her proudest creation goes where she goes, to keep her safe and on the straight and narrow. Then there's this Dark Dungeons fanboy. I'm pretty sure he's just along for the ride.

Finally, there's my Pokemon. They know they're all I have left of the beginning. Of simpler times, where my problems amounted to "do we have enough Potions to survive this Gym" and "does this sweater match my boots?"
>>

>Huh. The wiki said basically all races other than humans were created by the gods. So I guess that's wrong?
It might be right. Time breaks multiple times in Drakengard canon. The dragons certainly claim to have been around since the beginning of the universe. The gods could have created the other species with ancient histories already in place.

Not... entirely true.

>Fair Play (+0 CP, Mandatory if Art Beyond Measure is not taken)- I think that it’sbest if we even things a little, don’t you? After all, even my greatest creations are still within the relative limits of human capability, so it’s only fair that you be at the same level. With the exception of purchases for this jump, all of your abilities that go beyond the capabilities of a normal human have been locked or reduced to an equivalent level while you are stuck in the gallery.

>Art Beyond Measure (+0 CP, Mandatory if Fair Play is not taken)- Then again, the new powers and skills you bring to the fold have given me some interesting new ideas for artwork… Tell you what, you can keep all the powers and items you have with you. In return, I am going to use what I’ve observed from your outside elements to improve my art creations. Now my art will no longer be at about the level of an average human, but strong enough to be a fair challenge to you. Have magic abilities, for instance? Well, I’ve just added magician-themed pieces that will give you quite the surprise.

Drakengard 3 (a prequel) and 1 (the original are, but Nier takes place in a parallel universe.
See, the events of 3 lead up to 1, and in ONE of the five different endings of 1, the main character and his dragon get sucked into an alternate dimension along with the eldritch monstrousity that is the True Final Boss. That alternate dimension is our own world, more specifically modern Tokyo. The True Final Boss dissolves into ash and the main character and his dragon get taken out by jet fighters, and this leads to a bunch of eldritch ashes spreading across the city and bad shit happens and the world ends, eventually leading into Nier thousands of years in the future, and then Nier: Automata even more thousands of years after that.

Well, I recently acquired Castle Jumpenstein in the Wolfenstein jump. It's a cool fortress, staffed with nazis.

And I've got a nice Castle from Paper Mario, a 18th century one from Shrek, Discordia Castle from Sailor Moon orbiting the dwarf planet Eris, an Astral Plane Fortress floating in the Astral from OotS, a weird tiny one floating above my Warehouse stuff on a cloud (and made from clouds, I think) from Les Miserables.

There's also the Lord's Castle from Van Hellsing, which is a brick that builds a castle around it when you set it down. Ordinarily, it'd rival Dracula's castle. But you get one of these bricks every jump, so I've been set them down in a pocket dimension that follows me, expanding the castle with each jump. It's a horrific mass that nearly blots out the sky by now, huge and sprawling like a particularly lavishly furnished maze.

I also made a flying castle out of slime, with Adventure Time slime monarch and slime wizard powers.

Do palaces count? I do really like Oboro, Palace in the Clouds, from Kamigawa, as a floating cloud-palace.

And of course the Moon Palace from Power Rangers.

>Taking the planet with us
...UUHHHHHH.

I mean, I'm not sure how I'd rule that as working. But off the top of my head, I'd guess like a sort of portable universe-in-a-box type thing that you can access from your warehouse or just the full star system being stuck in some location that you're aware of so it doesn't screw up the solar system you start in.

>Imports
Yep. Still a thing. As a reminder on the mechanics, if you start on a T3 planet, you can import as many things as you want, but if you want to start on T2/1/0 for more CP, you lose out on import slots.

Sorry, I think I lost that permanent transformation drawback when I was remaking it from a regular jump to a gauntlet, as I was having a little trouble getting it to fit with the new scenario.

I made Drop-In the most expensive background because it doesn't come with the built-in problems the other two backgrounds have. Local Human gives you a rose that your health is bound to, while Artwork doesn't have that but does force you to find a sacrifice so you can become real to escape. I could reduce the prices, though - Drop-In to 100 and Artwork to 50.

>>54543143
I'm sorry if Rose seems too good for 100. I initially had it as a mandatory perk that was more like a drawback, so I tried to give it some more benefits. Then again, since Local Human gets the rose even if you don't purchase the perk, maybe I could make that perk the capstone instead.
>>
>>54544253
I remember people objecting to that idea because the Transistor was too powerful, way back when. But having played the game since then, I don't think that's true. Not even when accounting for power creep of Jumpchain over time. The Transistor's "reality warping" is really just it being the control interface for some robots that are able to operate out of phase with the rest of reality. Said robots are pretty advanced, but nothing crazily so. I think it would be fine.
>>
>>54544267
Only major hang up would be the omnipotence of the Transistor weapon. However we could always take a page from Nier Automata. Godly in the digital world but less so in physical world.
>>
>>54544309
That was how the first attempt died. The second one because the author couldn't find a way to work Functions. Regardless, you're right. It's really not as crazy as some people thought it was. At least, not any more than any virtual reality jump is.

>>54544312
That could work.
>>
>>54544305
Why not make Rose exclusive to that origin, since the origin seems to require you have it, but make it cost a lot to take along with you and retain the benefits out of jump?

Keeping in mind how insanely good it is out of jump given you can keep it in the warehouse.

Drawback? I was referring to that bit of the old version of the gallery-making perk that let you become your art gallery. If that was meant to be a danger and not a feature then I am sorry for the trouble.

As for the rose, you could add the same rule as the Horxcrux from Harry Potter, needing to be in the same general reality as you to grant its benefits.
>>

What's funny is that the SBers aren't aware of that rule.

>I meant items specifically for Cell and Creature Stage. Tribal and so on are definitely having items, I'm just not sure about what I could put in for the first two.
...oh. That makes sense, yeah.

Maybe a tiny item section for Creature. Letting you buy things like a nest of Creature Stage-level examples of your species, some plants that have delicious fruits growing on them, a supply of sticks/shells/rocks perfect for throwing, decorative bones like the ones unlocking parts, or maybe even a landmark like a monolith?

>...UUHHHHHH.
>I mean, I'm not sure how I'd rule that as working. But off the top of my head, I'd guess like a sort of portable universe-in-a-box type thing that you can access from your warehouse or just the full star system being stuck in some location that you're aware of so it doesn't screw up the solar system you start in.
Yeah, it's a bit out-there. But I'd love you for it.

Personally, I'd go for the second of those, but others may think differently.

>Yep. Still a thing. As a reminder on the mechanics, if you start on a T3 planet, you can import as many things as you want, but if you want to start on T2/1/0 for more CP, you lose out on import slots.
Huh, cool. Thanks, not sure if I completely forgot those mechanics or just missed them last time.

In any case, I guess I'll have to get a T3 then. Gotta get a lush world with tons of resources.

>Where is he?!
>Oh shit, sorry guys, I forgot where I put his bits and those people sealed him
>YOU FORGOT THE ANON?!

After having too little free time last week to watch an entire series, I'ma have to declare critical research failure for this one. I'm stuck in 4 princesses, there's an evil demon god in here too and everything could be a science experiment gone wrong.

That's all I know right off the bat.

>Run!
>What's going on?!
>Barricade the doors, they're coming for the princesses! Nothing can stop them! Nothing!
>Wait, it seems half of them wish to spare our charges, while the otherARRRRGH MY SOUL IS BURNING

So, I guess there's not much to do here in magical princess-space. Twiddle my thumbs. Play guess-the-triggered-trauma before huffing it right in Anthrax's face as a gout of soulfire.

But hey, maybe a bit of peace and quiet's just what I need.

>RIGHT. Are we agreed, or do I need to smack you all upside the head again?
>You're such a /killjoy/, Elodie. Anon's missing, and you care about some stupid girls who're party to it?!
>Setting aside the inherent value of human life, GALAXIA, do you realise what releasing him into THIS reality will do to it?
>Well, we'd survive but our stuff would-oh. Well great, now we'll have to reconfigure the seals. If only there was an extraordinarily powerful local practitioner who could guage the parameters of this reality-
>(dramatic Dark Schneider entrance) Ladies~

There's one thing I wonder about. If Anthrax is trapped in me and the princesses, and I'm trapped in the princesses, then when I'm released what will-

CLANG. My copy of the legendary Dragonslayer, bane of Apostles, bounced off my niece's. It had been six months since the light of my soul had sealed the rogue Locust-host's (come on, that thing was OBVIOUSLY one of Urfarah's leftovers) forces. Two months since confused refugees had started gathering in the Valley, to watch the rightful heir to the throne's training montage.

100 sword-swings.

100 broken hellbrass boards.

100 reality-marble squats.

10km running. Every. Single. Day. And Thorn Harvester's still coming back for seconds. Merela of all people's developing big sisterly instincts! Granted, the primordial maiden of war kind; a piggyback turned into a contest of dragging screaming dragons out of their slumber-caves.

That's enough, I remark-and narrowly get the blade up as the erstwhile princess goes in for a mordhau. Another very Merela thing to do. C'mon kiddo, don't tire yourself out before your final adventuring exam.

"Auntie Adorjan says pain is weakness leaving the body" retorted Thorn, bruises already taking on a brassy sheen. "I can do this. All. Day"

At last, training gave way to the Great Cow Race, as modified into what Merela considered "a warmup". Spike pits and fire geysers dotted the race track. Bound demons raised their longbows, tipped in burning vitriol. The cows had been genetically modified into hulking, amorphous blobs of mooing eldritch muscle.

Gran'ma Ben still won by technicality, once again costing the Valley's villagers their earnings.

Mainly because all the deathtraps and monsters dogpiled Thorn, while she calmly strode around the whole thing.

"You sure about this, girl?" she said, as they shook after the race.
"I've never been surer of anything. I don't know if I'm cut out to be royalty, but I've never felt more alive"
She frowned. "Reckon you ought to know that boy ain't right by now". She sighed. "Still, I s'pose he's right. You ought to have been told sooner"
"It's never too late to start, your majesty. And right now, I can let my dreams stop being dreams"

Both silently acknowledged the queen had imparted the final lesson any good adventurer needs to learn about fair play: Fuck that shit.

"Why her, though?" asked Phoney, as Thorn swigged from a health potion, before charging the Locust-my barrier dissipating as she cleaved deep into it's horde. "Give it to me straight, padre: You could end this fight any time you like, couldn't you?"

I watch the battle. Hundreds of rat creatures fall upon Thorn-whose dreams her sword cuts every one of them in half, and so it does. This isn't my fight, but-who says I haven't?

"Huh. Not a bad con. But I'm outta here, and I'm taking the doofuses. I didn't sign up to be part of no epic legend's birth"

On the battlefield, Briar finally makes her entrance. A speech about the glorifies of being her master's sockpuppet dying on drying lips, as Thorn hurtles forth at the speed of dream-and suplexes her hard enough to leave a crater. Merela's yelling pointers like a berserk soccer mom, as the Locust manifests itself desperately to wrest away the Crown of Horns from Thorn's head. But our grasshopper has learned well. Turning her back, she silently executes the Muso Tensei pose. And the sorrow plaguing the Crown hit the Lord like a bugzapper.

Gran'ma Ben had a very, very stern talk after the celebratory feast. Both about paying the bill for all the alcohol, and being a responsible caretaker for Thorn now the adventuring fever's firmly put her off ruling.

Mostly to be a jerk. It's indeterminate whether aura does or doesn't count as magic, but given that they don't think of their abilities as magic and they have to activate the aura enhancement instead of it being passive (most of their strength and speed is just them genuinely being strong and fast), I think they'd get really confused if you told them about Servant traits ahead of time.

Ignoring obvious reality is a fatal flaw in our line of work. This is what really matters. A jumpmaker who puts out one good jump is not necessarily a "good" jumpmaker any more than a one-hit wonder is a master musician. It could easily be a fluke, or not representative of their normal capability. Like, Hero BBS and Overlord are great jumps. I'd still be hesitant to say Sky Garden's Magician or Brellin are some of our top jumpmakers.
