Hell no. One of my first games in EDH ever someone stole all my stuff with this infinite mana memnarch silliness. Since then ive picked up a homeward path amd some other answers that ill swap in if i need it. There are some good theft effects, but general enchantment removal gets rid of most of it.

The thing about theft effects that piss me off is my opponents frequently get to abuse my absurdly janky synergies MORE than I ever did.

It is frustrating trying your damnest to get three garbage creatures to stick and failing, then having them get Rise of the Dark Realms'd.

People say that a theft deck is only powerful when playing against powerful decks, but when you Bribery out a Butcher Orgg, you got the better end of the deal than me hard casting the fucker.

Pack more flicker. Ghostly Flicker and Archeomancer is crazy shit. Conjurer's is solidly repeatable. Momentary Blink can do it twice and costs fuck all to cast.

Be mindful of what things are slow Flicker.

I have two or three mono color decks that I want to make, but have none of the cards to make them really good. Trades are also out because all my shit is either lost forever or not worth it for anybody who actually has trades.
I also have two or three other decks I want to make, but I face similar problems.
I just want a cheap deck that is fun to play and can actually be competitive. Usually things are only one of these. Cheap cards never win games, winning games isn't fun, and fun cards are either hard to come by or just not effective enough to actually make an impact.
What do? I mean, obviously besides complaining.

Edric can be surprisingly inexpensive, just don't go nuts on the mana base and extra turn spells. Good ramp, wipes, Overrun effects and flying/unlockable 1/1s aren't too tough on the wallet

First off, don't play mono color on a budget ffs. You can easily build a competent deck on a budget, but you need more colors to take advantage of it. Make Maelstrom Wanderer (or Intet if Wanderer is too pricey).

Yeah. Everyone always loses their collective shit when I play my Yasova Dragonclaw deck. They call is 'unfun' and 'not fair'. One guy in particular can't fucking stand her, and considers her the best deck, saying it's on par, or better than Zur or Narset. He'd rather play against my Grenzo Doomsday deck.

The deck's not even particularly good-- it's just a bunch of clones, and threaten effects with sac outlets, and cards that pump Yasova. He admits his hate is pretty irrational, but he still just can't stand her; I think suffers pretty hard from a case of feel bads from getting his broken shit stolen and used against him.

I'm looking for fun "Gotcha" cards. Not as in, the Unhinged mechanic, but cards that seem so narrow and surprise the fuck out of people when they do work.

1) something green and fast
basically abuse green's mana dorks for cheap, fast ramp, then cast some meme shit to hopefully instantly win, like yisan or nath

2) something black and slow
just sit around doing nothing and then hopefully win with some cheap combo when everyone else is tapped out. won't win if your group just focuses on hunting down a wincon by turn 5 and doesn't interact enough to stop itself from comboing

ideally 1 of each fetch, 1 of each shock , command tower, city of brass, and mana confluence. that's 23. Then I'd say 1 of each basic especially if blood moon is common in your meta. so there's 28. Then some utility lands like reliquary tower, cavern of souls if you're playing tribal , maze of ith, etc. depending on how many of those that decides on what else you put in. id also recommend some manlands or more basics for the rest. also keep in mind if anything in your deck produces colored mana and what colors and use that to decide on what manlands and basics you put in

Option a: Become The Combo King. Degenerate top-tier combos match up well against Stax.

Option b: Propose a silly/restricted EDH sub-event like God Fight, Tribal, or what have you. Once the players find it proves more fun than the Staxscape, they'll grow out from there to a more healthy level

Option c: Total Chaos. You are going to have to build perfectly to fire table-flipping chaos spells like Scrambleverse in a Stax meta, but if you can pull it off, it'll work. If the Stax players just get stronger though...

Option d: In the end, everything else can fail -- Stax is one of the two dominant archetypes and even if you fight back with fast infinites you'll still be in the hellscape. Get used to the misery.

Arcbound Artifacts matter was a lot of fun. They have a printed power of 0, so you can cast Grenzo without any X and get value off him no matter what.

Trike is also 1 printed power. And Red/Black artifacts has gotten a few new cards over the years.

Do you guys know of people who try to sabotage other people's deck building?

For example, a person asking for deck advice or if a card would be good and then a dude proceeding to recommend a bunch of complete hot garbaggio right of the presses and agreeing with all these bad deck choices just so they can demolish them later. This usually happens to newer players as they seem more suspectible to recommendations.

It plays a lot like a monoblack reanimator deck. You use looting effects to fill your yard and bring it back with feldon, but the trick is to use things like Warstorm Surge, Where Ancients Tread, and Stalking Vengeance with damage doublers and extra combat phases to completely ruin someone's day. If you have quality reanimation targets, the only difference between feldon and a regular reanimator deck is your removal. You need blasphemous act, mizzium mortars, and arcbond to make sure you don't get blown out, and Hour of Devastation is a fantastic new card for your arsenal.

My favorite targets are Wurmcoil Engine, Bane of Bala Ged, Flamerush Rider, and Myr Battlesphere, but almost anything stompy works perfectly fine. Motlen Primordial will win you games, particularly if you combine it with a sac outlet. Fling type effects are also fantastic, because your token is going to die anyways, unless you use sundail of the infinite.

Any help for a new EDH player? I've only played a few games with the anthology set I bought for my tabletop group recently but I'm starting my first EDH deck and finally going to repurpose my old Selesnya deck so I'll have Tostrani as a commander.
My question: Because I'm going to rely quite a bit on Seance and Mimic Vat to make my creatures into tokens so I can populate and abuse ETBs; what are some good G or W sacrifice outlets so I can force my creatures into the graveyard. I know there are a few key artifacts that make good sac outlets but I don't know any in Selesnya colors.

Any good EDH gameplays to watch/listen?

I already have been watching Muddstah and Lab Maniacs.

Pretty nice dichotomy in my opinion, also appreciate the clearness of these two channels. Other recs?

1) Use Marath, X=1, remove a counter, make a 1/1 token, Cathars' Crusade trigger, Marath gains a counter. -1 mana, +1 token. Sac the token to Ashnod's, make 2 mana, make 2 more tokens, Crusade triggers for each so Marath stays the same. Sac 1 of the tokens. Now you can make infinite tokens and sac however many you want for infinite mana.

Trostani is a really solid commander that can be built any number of ways.
The "champion" way is always really fun for me, with things like dueling grounds and glare of subdual to go along with creatures like Wayfaring Temple, Voice of Resurgence, Scion of the Wild, Oviya Pashiri, Majestic Myriarch, Giest-Honored Monk and Shaman of the Forgotten ways

So I'm pondering this list of like a a Neheb mass burn/ group thug deck with some stax effects and damage doublers. Ill run furnace of rath and dictate and then effect like blood moon and stranglehold to lock shit down. After casting things like blamebreak and flame rift cast large x spells.I then think whats more fun then doing that floating a bunch of mana and then casting a MLD spell. The real question is what are some of the best MLD spells. Things like woldfire and shit.

If you don't care about the artifact trigger, it's better than Citadel, which is 95% of the time. It will also save your ass in 4/5C decks where you're much more likely to get color screwed, it can filter colorless into colored mana, and it isn't hit by MLD. It's a real handy little filter land.

To play a turn 3 razaketh it will involve only playing mana rocks the first 3 turns and then dropping a creature on turn 4 to sac to him, he doesn't do anything until then so when your opponents kill him you just wasted a turn where as with Griz you could just draw 28-35 cards in response to a kill spell and still win the next turn
