I'm playing a half orc barbarian with 7 in each mental stat. He is a chaotic evil rapist who worships rovagug. He shits on the floor and rubs it on himself as well as drinks his own piss and washes his dreads with piss. He is a cannibal as well as completely murderous. He peeps his dick cheese off and eats it. He doesn't care about his behavior in public and will murder and rape anyone he wants. His name is Gore Skullfucker.

I think Owen Stephens, the Main Starfinder dev, is also publishing a 3PP book that carries over the classes, races, and SPELLS from Pathfinder, so you are right.

I'm willing to tolerate the races, but why the classes? You just had your chance to fix Starfinder, but it isn't even out and they're already blowing it?

I really should make that guide when I come back and add all that to the BAN list. Imagine how many poor GMs are going to be tricked into allowing it.

Only thing is that the enemies will have way better weapons too. Fly isn't so useful when everyone has access to Jetpacks, all the Tuckers Kobolds have been upgraded to actual Vietcong with knockoff (which country in Golarion is closest to Soviet Union?) AKs and Gnolls have Rocket Lawnchers

Point is, the Nosferatu is what happens when a Vampire gets so old and powerful they go feral. The Nosferatu lacks the charm, nobility and grace of a Bram Stoker vampire, they're hideous murderers that terrorize the villages and towns of the darker places in this world.

Do not treat the Nosferatu as a rumor-shadowed nobleman or a mysterious serial killer. The Nosferatu is a monster of the old world, and should be portrayed how you would portray a rampaging dragon.

Intrigue GM is actually active in the thread, so that game seems still alive. Essentia's ending apps soon, you can probably PM the GM to see if they're still active. Neither seems to have the same tone as IG, though.

Or did you just want to call IG a bamboozle to push that idea? It's not like any of these games are new.
>>
>>54501161
Ulfen, yeah. Basically, it's the whole "Big martial being a bodyguard for a caster" trope that's as old as time. Best case scenario it's a duo app, otherwise, I'd just be bodyguarding an NPC.

Maybe she's a Witch (Seducer) who was sent away because her sleeping around was giving the family a bad reputation.

Maybe the Ulfen Guard is a eunuch and thus incapable of satisfying her urges the way she wants him to.
>>
>>54501517
that depends. for one the various Stages have varying tone, and depending on how things turn out there may or may not be chaotic deviations from those due to player shenanigans.

at its heart the campaign isnt that complicated. Garavon is not the nicest tiefling around and he has a bit too much power than the House can appreciate. The problem is when so many parties has interests to guard when that conflict kicks off...well, think 1914. Things ate loaded and very much ready to blow up big at a moments notice.

>>
>>54501542
depends on your preferred methods and allies! there are certainly a large variety of means available to you. all the ones you mentioned are fair game for the majority of the campaign's intrigue.

ofc not EVERYTHING is gonna be intrigue either. sometimes the offer of help is just that, nothing else. but this is not Cairhien and theres no easy way to tell who plays the Great Game and who doesnt... :^)

>>
>>54501542
that said the political angle is the one least considered so far. Karvanes are a big player internationally and in trade, but domestically they are mid tier at best. yes there might be ways to get the Thrunes attention onto garavon, but that will likely bring a lot of trouble for everyone involved - the hendersomething crisis hasnt happened yet in this timeline, and if similar things come to light about the Karvanes and reach Abby's ears...you do not want to be near THAT going off.

Steal. Steal like Lupin III at Big Dave's Fine Art and Precious Jewels Showcase and Emporium.

Like a thing from a book? It's in. Maybe change the names. One part of a setting is cool, other parts are lame? Butcher and flay, harvest what is good and cast aside what is ill. A van drove by with a painting on the side of a totally sick wizard riding a lightning dragon? That happened.

Now you've got some parts, and you can think about how they fit together. What would the consequences be of having a Mordor-type evil empire bordering a bunch of Lies of Locke Lamora-type amoral city states, willing to trade but difficult to conquer? The lightning dragon wizard, is the champion, or ruler, of a city-state?

Think about it when you're driving, or taking a shower. Eventually you'll have a cool setting that fits together and suits your tastes.

>A healer and unarmed fighter in fucking IRON GODS
That's still pretty much a full initiator. Medics are pretty fucking legit.
>>54502250
No anon. Healing IN COMBAT is garbage and having "healer" as your primary role is garbage. Medics make competent tanks and strikers on top of being able to keep allies in the fight and help them mitigate damage. They're fun to play because they're more engaging to use than being a wand of CLW with an Int score.
>>
>>54502250
Yes, under most circumstances, because usually the fight ends before or right after somebody goes down and everything can be healed with a few wands of CLW and during combat a potion suffices.

Unless it's IG which deals 15d6 damage to touch on a trap that's impossible to notice, or traps you into a room that attacks you with +20 to attack and 4d6+10 damage and trip each round, And all the enemies that explode you during the gameplay. A dedicated healer is a godsend when you realize that the robots do 4 attacks into touch that do 3d6+X damage and every door slamming open in every dungeon sending every enemy at you as the book 2 barbarian deals +90 damage a round.

Seriously if it wasn't the best written adventure Paizo has put out nobody would want to play it because it is murder.
>>
>>54502250
It's less that it's garbage, and more that just spamming cure spells is the wrong way to do so. If you want to heal, there are three different ways off the top of my head to do so effectively. 1) Play a Medic 2) play a Vitalist 3) play a Spirit Guide Life Oracle channel bot. Though I'm wondering if a Zealot or a Raja focusing on Radiant Dawn and Silver Crane might work as a good heager as well.
>>
>>54502329
never give up anon! the perfect app backstory is waiting for you! JUST DO IT
>>
>>54502191
My technique varies. Sometimes the backstory comes first, or something in my art folder inspires me to do something mechanically. My current character was just me dicking around to make something with as many str boosters as I could think of to hit really hard. She's works really well, all things considered.
>>
>>54502329
I'm not a fan of overly long backstories in apps. I'd rather write what likely matters to the campaign, then come up with more if I get in.
>>
>>54495153

Worf from Star Trek: TNG

He comes from a culture that brags and boasts about glory and honor through personal victory in combat. He emphasizes the honor part of that, believing that exaggeration and hyperbole only lessen a warrior's honor, and that their actions should speak for themselves.

An idea I had for a starter setting for StarFinder is the PCs being whisked away to what is essentially a universal themepark.

One of them what I will tenatively called Celestial Macabe; Vampire Hunter D, Castlevania, and Dark souls thrown together into a blender and set on a giant castle planet (ring world actually) that the PCs can participate in with areas segmented by levels

It's not really a campaign so much as a testing ground for myself, I could allow whatever I want consequence free of an actual story and possibly have fun with it as well.

The win state would be completing the challenges and getting the world specific loot to use.

It's all meant to be sci-fantasy related so it'll just be comestically themed to the world. For instance, there is a jungle world based on Monster Hunter

There is literally nothing wrong with taking the knot if it's attached to an intelligent creature whom you love, which she apparently does.

Holy shit, I'm genuinely surprised this woman is not only in love with a man, but from the last paragraphs she's actually staying faithful in a long-distance relationship. That doesn't strike me as something Paizo would write at all.

It was the single interesting thing about the race.
>>54502903
>Kinda neat desu, because with tech you could influence the change.
It's explicitly not thanks to tech. Cultural change made them realise they only had sexual dimorphism because they were sexist and smashing the patriarchy was the only thing they needed to do to remove it.
>>
>>54502932
Retcon happened. Now they choose whether to be dwarves or elves essentially. Mechanically better, but the reasons behind the decision are infuriating.
>>
>>54502950
Lashunta were never a patriarchy, they were always controlled by women in a perfect utopia of peaceful city-states.
>>

The patriarchy bit was a joke, but abolishing gender roles is explicitly what made them lose sexual dimorphism.

And here is an example of someone looking to get triggered.

They retconned that. The new one is that those changes happen based on the environment, and it a sex-defines-role society the change is 99% correlated with sex.

Erastil was first introduced in Kingmaker, and his write-up has... Questionable views on women joining his clergy or their role in society. To be fair, his opinions are perfectly reasonable if he was in a more "realistic" or "grounded" setting, but Golarion is neither of those and they really didn't have a place.

>>54503126

That, and women were only allowed to be part of his clergy unless they agree to drop the vestments on their wedding night. Being a priestess was only a function of the virginal young women still looking for a good man.

One in book two
One in book three

Let's count heterosexual relationships
One in book one
Two in book two
Technically one in book four
I am also pretty sure that none of the Russian soldiers were avid fans of Shoreleave.

Wrath is a lost cause.

But now let's count those in Curse
Queen and her lackey is one.
And that's about it,

I can remember only one guy couple in RotR but even that is something that probably never comes up because neither of the characters are important to the story.

Kingmaker has one married couple, yes, but no lesbians save for maybe that one calistrian cleric, but she is a throwaway character at best.

Any and all other characters in any of those are left very specifically ambiguous so they exist in a limbo of sexuality until GM decides what kind of genitals they prefer to suckle upon.

Because then you simply can't carve through them like a cake? You have to bask in their heterosexuality? Same reason there's only like one evil homosexual relationship out of all the APs (Queen Illeosa and a Gray Maiden.)

Oh, I forgot. There's a lesbian couple in Kingmaker, Book 4.

>>54503499
>One in book one

Should it really count as a relationship when the man has or is in the process of being viciously murdered by your encounter? Because if we're counting dead husbands/boyfriends than literally every AP includes at least 1-2 heterosexual relationships.
>>
>>54503476

Also you have to be pretty murderhobo or your GM doesn't like giving you common sense or perception rolls to recognize shit out of the ordinary to end that encounter with you killing the guy.
>>
>>54503581
>I'm actually really excited for that myself.

Since it sounds like you're a precious cinnamon bun with eyes yet open, understand that Starfinder is also including a system of item upgrades distinct from simple enchantment, where a shitty home-built laser rifle might do 1d8 damage while a top-of-the-line Corporate private stock laser rifle (technically the same weapon) does 6d8.

Also, they have added a second health pool for characters called Stamina. Most weapons hit your Stamina before they hit your Health. In Starfinder, Stamina represents your "luck" and "narrow misses." While Health needs to be healed with items or magic, Stamina can be replenished with a simple 10 minute rest.

Soldier1.jpg
90KB, 900x643px
>>54503633
I actually mathed it out a while ago.

A soldier with a 7d8 laser gun should be capable of doing about 125 damage per round as long as he has ammo, and he can reload. This is versus an optimized blaster sorcerer, who should be dealing about 108 damage per fireball at level 10. It's an AoE, admittedly, but he can only do it three times per day.

Before anybody jumps down my throat about "Casters aren't broken because they deal damage" no, that's true. But giving the casters fewer niches they dominate other players in is a good thing, and soldiers appear to have "lord of the battlefield" as their entire thing. With taking away levels 7-9 spells as well, the disparity is lower than ever.
>>
>>54503716
Honestly...give that sorcerer teleport and then the balance issue is fine. The sorcerer might even just be better.

Teleportation into a room, murdering everyone in it, then leaving is a lot better than killing someone extra good all day.
>>
>>54503499
Nadya as a romantic interest has always made me deeply uncomfortable - not due to her being a single mother, mind you, but because the circumstances of her being single aren't what I'd call "irreversible" by any stretch of the word.

Nadya joins the team because she wants to help you guys stop the Winter Witches, right? What if you... I don't know... Threw in the juicy bone of promising to resurrect her dead husband as well? He's only been dead for like two years, and she's probably still got lots of his effects laying around the house. Resurrection's a 7th level spell, which is high but not an impossible dream to any caster by the end of Book 2.
>>
>>54503693
>Still that counts because alive or dead the,'s people liked the ole socket n plug combination rather than clam rubbing or skin flute duels.

Ameiko Kaijitsu and Tessa Fairwind had boyfriends, but I'm pretty sure you could date either of them as a woman in their respective APs.

Flying and teleporting is no longer as much of an issue due to the fact that everyone can just shoot in the air
It is harder to escape by flying and teleporting
>>
>>54503763
Well here's the trick; that's a different niche than the martial's Schtick. In this instance, the sorcerer is providing utility more than anything, and since teleport affects groups, he's providing it to his entire team.

If that sorcerer with teleport is in a group, he can literally teleport the soldier into a mission, and then teleport him out when the job is done. that's way, way better for a party dynamic than the sorcerer doing everything himself
>>

Is SwimmingEagle a cool guy?
>>
>>54503828
Yeah, i like it. by giving the martials the best offense and defense options, even if you bring in casters from Pathfinder, the casters won't go for the offense and defense options; they'll go for other things, like buffs, illusions, enchantments, or summoning. Summoning of course is still a tricky issue, but the rest? That's all great stuff for party composition because it means the caster is handling what it should have been handling right from the get-go.

level 9 spells are still turbo-broken, of course, but they aren't as bad as they were before, and games rarely get to level 17 in the first place.

>>
>>54503962
Why do you think this is a problem? Yeah, the casters are still the ones with the biggest hand in the direction the game goes, but that was never going to change. The point is that allowing your allies to be effective is what defines a fun party member from an ubercaster, and that's the difference we're looking at. Yes, the wizard used black tentacles to lockdown the group of mooks so that the soldier can fight the big bad. Why is that a problem?
>>
What kind of setup do you feel is better for use?

A vast, open region with a few city-states, plenty of "vast, untamed wilderness" except for where it isn't that's kinda points of light?

A smaller and better-charted kingdom/republic/whatever with a central government, but still a fair amount of land and plenty of room for adventure?

A+B. There's a huge continent with several smaller countries within.

A + B: A huge country with a lot of variance in climates and room for adventuring in, with it's own internal factions and the likes.

A + B is by far my favorite. I love exploration and the open road as much as the next guy, but I deeply appreciate urban settings, engaging in a bit of courtly intrigue or even a bit of bar-room brawling. I've said it before and I'll say it again, but humans and other civilized races often make better enemies and antagonists than your typical evil Lich commanding unthinking monstrosities from some dank ruin.

Wait, what's the difference between A + B and A+B? Because the latter has qualities I'd like to see in the former; specifically, the huge continent with huge empires and smaller kingdoms within.

So Skald's Vigor states that you get Ithe Strength bonus your raging song provides as fast healing. If you're playing a Totemic Skald who picks the Bull focus, does that mean you get to apply the Strength bonus from that as well? I mean it's a Strength bonus, and it's applied via your raging song, so at least RAW I'd argue it works. In a similar vein, would you say that the Strength bonus from Amplified Rage works as well since it's increasing the bonus?

I was thinking of doing a Half-Orc Totemic Skald build that uses Battle Song of the People's Revolt with Amplified Rage and the Bull focus to boost Skald's Vigor (and later Greater), along with Warleader's Rage to allow a larger range for Amplified Rage but I'm not sure what to do with the build from there.

so what kind of penalty would you give to players who don't bathe and change clothes? Wouldn't other people not like them?

>>

I meant in character. I'm running a survival/exploration game and want my players to be aware of things like bathing and changing clothes to avoid infection/disease as well as meeting with other people when they find them.
>>
>>54504616
I don't see why that should give mechanical penalties. Sure, have people comment on the stank and maybe refuse service or whatever, but quantifying it into a Charisma drain or whatever is silly.
>>
>>54504652
Penalties to saves to effects that are caused by exposure, Allies having to throw minute will saves if the guy smells like a thousand tons of wet pig shit. Creatures with scent start attacking more because they can be smelled a mile way.
>>
>>54504575
>>54504652
Okay, what do you actually mean to do with this? Because this, if I'm being uncharitable like I usually am, sounds like you're fishing for a way to penalize people.

Not washing your clothes shouldn't be a problem, because it can easily be assumed that the PCs are washing and keeping clean "offscreen" in whatever ways they can, using nearby streams, magic, or whatever else.

Sure, you think it's immersive, and reminding them of it might be, but just springing the idea that they stink on them is going to lose your players' trust if you keep making them track soap consumption and bath times. It's like having NPCs be attacked behind their backs, they'll get paranoid about ever leaving someone alone.

yeah but the whole point of exploration in a sandbox game is seeking out things they want to do. I have a world map that I've created that has streams already mapped on the landscape. if they aren't near any they can't bathe and if they are wounded and running around in filthy clothes and covered in blood and grime they'd most likely get some sort of disease.

If they do, then great. If they don't, scrap the idea and don't force it on them.
>>
>>54502913
It isn't impossible. And, if they really wanted to make something alien, a creature that could shift it's sex on it's own, like several species of Fish and frogs, it would be something to make them different. Some even change quite drastically when they do so.

I've not kept up with Starfinder, but it sounds like they've basically just made two races that grow up from a single child-form. Again, not impossible biologically, though most things with wildly different adult forms (like ants) tend to have only a single reproducing member, and the rest are neutered drones.

No the whole chemical sex changing thing is simply a myth, frogs do change sexes though. They can't change genders however that we know of. That said considering there aren't exactly many gender constructs of frogs, I suppose it's theoretically possible to have a gender-fluid frog, but you really wouldn't know. It still acts exactly the same as every other frog, because it's a frog.

Is it mean of me to have the final dungeon in my campaign allow the bad guy snipe the players with very little chance of being able to retaliate?

Specifically the main bad guy has access to a network of portals and magical security measures that lets him see and be almost anywhere in the dungeon and being an asshole he can just lob grenades through portals when players are near them, but they are one-way and have a really odd pattern on where they are so they can only hope they can avoid whatever the bad guy throws through them.

Well large amount of estrogen men usually constitute to prostrate cancer, heart diseases and weakened physique as well as a chance of becoming increasingly feminine if you intake large amounts of it, though your dick's going to be still there after any length of time. Effectively estrogen is bad for male physique since they are more dependent on testosterone since it effectively gives males their masculine characteristics (stronger, broader and larger than females).
>>
>>54505457
Well technically yes. There are some less desirable side effects of taking the pill as a man (you should never take any medication that isn't for you), but in terms of the severity proposed by "Widespread Sexual Disruption in
Wild Fish", no. It is physically impossible for a living human being to grow opposing sexual organs. You can have surgery, as some people who are transgender sometimes choose to do. But you can not inside a change of sex, or become intersex as a living human male or female.

Not entirely. The human brain is sexually dimorphic; moving yourself towards the other sex will affect your perception of those genders.

>>
>>54505798
Yes being being more societally feminine or masculine may affect your perception of gender, but it won't affect your own gender, there are plenty of men that are more feminine who are still men. While one man may be viewed as societally feminine, he's still feels most comfortable as a male and treated as a male. They may perceive gender roles differently, but there's no question they are male.
>>
>>54505834
As someone who's actually transitioning, I can testify estrogen significantly changed the way I think.
>>
>>54505879
>more societally
No, being physically more feminine. It has nothing to do with society and everything to do with literally moving your body and body structure towards a female sex. This also affects your perception, because the female brain is not the same as the male brain. Because you aren't literally female, taking the pill will never actually make you act like a woman, but it will make you act in that direction.
>>
>>54505727
For individual cases, maybe, but not on a grand scale. Again, it's their upbringing by baby boomers who, in their usual rebellion against their parent generation, started rejecting conservative views and lived through the time when equality movements got most wind under their wings because of it, including the generation that saw war wanting to change the world into a more tolerant place because of their bad or good experiences. And with that an emphasis on higher education became a thing and these people became teachers who also started influencing the youth and that was inherited by the next generation and the next generation, creating the nu-males. And even then that is mostly because over each generation the idea of equality became increasingly corrupted to the point that people took the "white males are evil" to heart despite that being fringe case ideas of what caused everything. And also the American media being dominated by people with left leaning ideals.

Even then the nu-males are still fringe cases and only gain popularity because, I am repeating myself but what the hoohaa, a good portion of the media is left leaning especially on the internet.
>>
>>54505834
It will change a lot. But it shouldn't change your gender. Many people who take estrogen experience changes in personality, but not to the severity of changing one's gender. WIth that said, it is scientifically possible. Just unsubstantiated, and at best unlikely.
>>
>>54505929
>But it shouldn't change your gender

Why not? I thought gender was fluid.
>>
>>54505948
Well gender is since it's a term coined by a moron who ruined the lives of two boys for his own theory and thus is considered to be naught but a slang term for sex. Sex doesn't change.
>>
>>54505948
Not exactly. That's a bit of an oversimplification. It's possible for a person to be gender-fluid sure, But to claim all people are gender fluid would be false. I'm a guy. I'd never feel comfortable in any other circumstance than being a guy.

Hey guys, can we get off the gender topic and talk about what this thread is actually meant for?

For instance, ever thought about why witches need covens? As it turns out, relearning your spells after your familiar dies is pretty fucking difficult... except they can learn from another familiar, meaning keeping a friendly familiar in the hands of a friend means you can come back from having your raven buddy shot in the head or something.
>>
>>54506021
If you mean to specifically to change their gender, no one knows if that's even viable because no one would actually try something like that. To cause slight changes in personality such as those who are transitioning, it really depends on the person. I'm not knowledgeable enough in pharmaceuticals to give an accurate answer on that.
>>
>>54498528
I've thought about doing exactly that, but I don't want to do it if all the game has going for it is "Use your old apps!" A game needs to stand on stronger legs than that, IMO, before it's worth running. Also, it's competing with other ideas in my head.

It's the same cycle any thriving civilization has gone through. Few generations before build a better world for their offsprings and those offsprings fall into decadence and selfish ideals and since excess is all around they gorge themselves with it to the detriment of the following generations. Right now the only thing is that the generation that effectively spent all the earlier generations built up to still live because of advancements in healthcare and hygiene so that they can be around to complain to the following generations.
>>
>>54506053
Speaking of Witches, how many Changelings are transsexual? I thought I recall hearing Crystal Frasier state a greater than normal percentage of them viewed themselves as men trapped in feminine figures, which is an awfully intriguing thing to consider for a mono-gendered race.

And speaking of said mono-genderedness, don't most of them display intersex characteristics, up to and including penises? Knowing how frightening gender dysphoria can be, I'm sure the anguish of such a collection of sex organs is exactly what their Hag mothers want.

How much estrogen would you have to give someone over the course of 18 years (assuming birth to adulthood) to turn them into a plaid-wearing, bespectacled NuMale?
>>
>>54506117
Yes, but that automation and limitless immigration is partially a cause to the increasingly harder life the younger generation has to endure. They no longer have access to as many jobs as their parent generation and as well paid. And the parent generation still lives in decadence now at the cost of their own off-springs. Especially in America since the baby boomer generation still controls most of the industry and the truly money making professions and businesses and are unwilling to step down or live in the now instead of still fighting communism by hoarding all the money to build red-proof vests padded with Lincoln's and Jefferson's deflecting the projectile communism.
>>

I had a couple ideas

The first idea was that the players would be members of a small sect of Lamashtans growing in power over the course of the campaign, breeding with man and monster to produce more horrifying creatures to grow the cult in power, probably while doing battle against an inquisition of Sarenrae chasing them down.

The next was that the players were emmisaries of a Drakaina seeking to become a demigoddess or at least attain some sort of divine power. The players would end up as foes of a nascent demon or daemon lord who they plan to kill so their master can absorb it's divine spark. Breeding would occur more as a byproduct of the kind of people who would align themselves with a Drakaina.

The third has the players as sort of average ordinary people who are told by the gods that while they aren't necessarily heroes themselves they will one day be the parents of Golarion's future champions. What follows is a small-scale kind of comfy campaign where the players go on local adventures, fight bandits, save noblewomen, etc. all the while building a home and family for themselves either with eachother or NPCs.
>>
>>54506257

1 and 3 sound fantastic, anon.
>>
>>54506222
It's hard to tell.
The effects of estrogen without antiandrogen therapy on males are very poorly known.
The short story is that testosterone is a far more potent hormone and will simply dominate over estrogen in competition for receptors if both are present in the bloodstream.
Basically, estrogen doesn't really do much in terms of observable effects in males as long as there is any testosterone.
And if you nuke testosterone and replace it with estrogen, you just end up with a girl (male) who would likely be horribly depressed due to being full of the wrong hormones.

What's stopping you from making a Hermea campaign, the only place in the lore that canonically supports breeding for the purposes of producing superior children?
>>
Anyone here get the Starfinder CRB early?

I'll give you your mythic campaign.

On one condition.
15 pointbuy. core monk, rogue, warrior, and kineticist(no jolly) only

I'm game fucker

>Don't Covens basically serve as Wizard Academies / Assassin/Theives' Guilds for Witches?
Seems like a pretty cool assumption to make.

My thanks.

There's a homosexual relationship in Kingmaker too, in... I want to say book 4? Two ladies. The game doesn't go out of their way to tell you though, and assuming my Dm was actually playing it straight by the book the two characters actually prefer to keep their relationship on the down-low.

>>54506509
>>54506488
Then how am I supposed to be a mythic hero if I can't even use mythic?
>>
>>54506695
because 'mythic' doesn't actually make you a mythic hero, it just breaks the game

A normal high level pathfinder character is a figure of myth and legend already
>>
>>54506509
That is a very feminine-looking man.
>>
>>54506695
Tone of the campaign.
Hydras, dragons, huge worlds filled with immense beasts. Liches trying to annihilate all life on earth, elemental lords, arch devils and archdemons all being real threats.

The best part is that all of this addressable with small modifications like 1.5x or 2x max hp, gestalt and custom monster creation. No reason to touch mythic at all other than to say you're using it; which is the dumbest move to make
>>
Mythic isn't the worst thing in the world, it doesn't really become unbalanced until around the third tier, and doesn't break until 6th. Which in most cases means very nearly the end of the game when things are already plenty broken.

It does need some serious errata, maybe even an outright overhaul, though, and it's something I, as a shitty player with no experience in game design, have considered tackling.
>>
>>54506733
Yeah, see... You never get that tone around here. It's all quirky cutesy bullshit or APs or tired deconstruction everyone's seen before.
>>
>>54506723
>A normal high level pathfinder character is a figure of myth and legend already
Not necessarily, you might be as strong as those people but that doesn't mean anyone has heard of you.
>>
>>54506829
I can't think of one campaign here that was a deconstruction of anything.
>>
>>54506843
You seem to believe that using mythic will make your character well and widely known, whereas an ordinary character would be obscure at higher levels.
>>
>>54506829
Great assumptions and broad strokes there faggot
>>
>>54506843
This, most APs end with the exploits of the PCs hardly being known, such as RotRL and Iron Gods.

You know what Mythic is good for in my eyes? Stripping it the fuck down to the barebones. Keep mythic ranks, keep some of the basic path abilities, but fucking throw out the majority of it. No you don't get a billion bonuses to ability scores. No you don't get to juggle another nonsensical resource. Yes, you DO get the option to start your own cult and be immortal.

This, of course, does not actually "fix" mythic, it just views it as something to be smashed with percussive maintenance until it's something you and your group can use. It's much like ABP in that sense.
>>
More important than mythic, when will Paizo release rules for achieving divinity and becoming a demigod? I need a campaign that handles ascension and beyond, and the third party stuff that delves into it is repulsive garbage.
>>
>>54506881
Name a single campaign that came out of here with a high-powered premise.

>>54506875
Every single tremendous faggot with Mythic is a big deal in the setting. Apart from those aspire Elves I guess.
>>
>>54506913
There will never be rules, because becoming even a demigod is beyond the scope of what Paizo wants in its system. The Lich Queen and the Hero-Gods of Ilbydos aren't getting statted out.
>>
>>54506921
Mm-hmm, because Mythic = High-Powered and not Stupid Unbalanced Bullshit. Also, Romance of the Righteous Kingdoms.
>>
>>54506913
Mythic is literally achieving divinity, it's how Aroden did it and Mythic Hierophants gain domains/sub domains to bequeath spells unto followers.
>>
>>54506875
The same applies to mythic. There are rocks and shit that have mythic power. You could find those and nom on mythic creatures for years and assuming you don't make a big show of it be unheard of.
>>
>>54506921
>I'm going to ignore the game that started at level 10 and was gestalt with a fuckton of stuff allowed
>I will especially ignore the fact one of the players posted a character sheet that was in the realm of 15~ pages of abilities
>there are DEFINITELY no high powered games!
>>
>>54506937
Empyreal Lords are statted out and they're basically gods.
>>
>>54506969
That game took place in Tian Xia, of course I didn't care about it.
>>
>>54506979
But they're not. They're even lower than demigods, same as the Great Old Ones are statted out but are explicitly not real gods. Hell, even Deep One Elders grant divine magic, and they are neither mythic nor gods.
>>
>>54506908
Page 7, shitlord.
>>
>>54506979
The Empyreal Lords are Empyreal Lords.
Not even their collective total stands a chance against one real god in a fight.
>>
>>54507020
>>54507017
They're still enough god for the average PC.
>>
>>54506953
This is so stupid it's not even worth explaining everything wrong with it.

>>54507017
Empyreal Lords are explicitly a type of demigod.
>>
>>54507020
Then how'd Lamashtu take on the fucker she stole divinity from? She was "just" a demon lord at first.
>>
>>54506560
Never having heard of it is what stopped me.
>>
>>54506560
Because a Hermea campaign is pretty much "and then the big dragon told you to fuck X" ad infinitum.

Also that's false. Hobgoblins also practice eugenics.
>>
>>54506583
Not for like two weeks man. I'll let you know when I get it.
>>
>>54505854
Sorry, I'm not in any of your games.
>>
>>54507430

Someone on reddit had an early copy, but they didn't give any signs of intending on leaking it.
