Hey, /tg/. I've had an idea for a casual RPGafter playing way too much Hand of Fate, sort of pick-up and play style thing. It uses a standard 52-deck of cards, a d3, and a d20 so far. I've got four characters + some abilities, four enemy factions, but no fluff or real solid crunch yet. Gimme a hand?
Working title is Dungeon Decks. I can post what I do have if you want.

short answer is you aren't the first person to think of this, you won't be the last, so it all hinges on the execution. go for it.
Maybe my Halloween themed Tarot Cards might help.
I once I a concept of a Halloween world that used candy as a currency, and Trick-or-Treating was performed by gangs of masked humans (usually children/teens, since most are turned into monsters or killed by adulthood) that try to rob and/or murder the wealthy and powerful monster elite.
Feel free to steal.

It might be worth looking at the handful of RPG which are card based for inspiration. Such as Castle Frankenstein and malifaux Into The Breach.
They are the only fully cardbase game I know of. There's a few other which are dice and card base (typically with a western theme) like dust devils, deadlands aces and eights. The latter has a uses very thematically appropriate called shot system, which will take too long to explain here but definitely put it to good use.
Anyway that's probably too complicated for what you want but check it out.
