So guys, if a Dhampir dies and all the proper rituals are undertaken (buried, etc.) would he become a vampire, or at least a revanent? I mean, if the Human soul of the guy is gone, wouldn't that mean that all that's left is vampirism? Nowhere seems to have a clear answer. It came up in a game today and now I gotta know what everyone thinks, or if there already is an answer somewhere.

It really really depends on setting. Everyone has their own idea on what happens when vampires are involved. Hell, some Greeks believe dead werewolves become vampires.
General lore. Let's say Forgotten Realms. Answers from different settings are excepted, I just want to hear thoughts from all walks
A lot of settings have consistent ideas in regards to certain stuff. Fae creatures don't lie, vampires don't reflect, werewolves change under a full moon - while not wholely consistent across every setting, a lot of tropes hold true in -most- settings. That's what I'm referring to here. The general idea, if such a thing exists with Dhampirs. If you really don't know, go Forgotten Realms.

maybe some unique undead? a new kind of vampire?
a vampire (or like undead) that understands humanity on a better level than regular vampires, to hunt them better.
Some form of bloodspawn?

If it's D&D it happens, so the solution is to either cast Spawn Screen on his grave to prevent it from happening, or behead him before burial.
I don't think Katane get the after-death deal.
