What's a good system to run a setting that's essentially Turn A Gundam, ie, turn of the century technology with the occasional but steadily increasing dash of far-future superscience? Hardmode, not GURPS.

Savage Worlds, but expect supertech to rapidly outstrip 20th century weaponry. But if it can do anything it's heroic characters winning against the odds with luck and clever tactics.

FATAL

But schizotech is perfect for gurps! Especially when it comes to handwaving!

Yeah, but to get anything decent out of GURPS besides the most vanilla of settings, you need to scour a shitton of sourcebooks and essentially build the game yourself. It's like the difference between running a prewritten program and scripting and compiling your own from scratch. The latter is tailored exactly to my needs, but fuck if I have the time and effort to do so.

This. Like savage worlds is excellent, especially if you can find appropriately thematic playing cards
