Sup /tg/

I need a little favor from you. Let's call it a small-scale usability test.

I'm going to list three names of necromantic spells, and give you no other information than that they're NOT just different names for the same spell. Without any further context, I'd like to ask of you, if you can, to briefly explain what you expect these spells to do and what the biggest differences between these spells might be.

>Spell 1: Raise Dead
>Spell 2: Create Undead
>Spell 3: Awaken Corpse
>>
>>54271466
>1
Requires bodies, brings a small group of them back from the dead classical zombie-style
>2
Does not require bodies, but still summons a small number of undead regardless
>3
Temporarily brings a single person back with their memories intact, requiring the body
>>
>>54271466
1
Resurrects one person as is. Won't heal any wounds or cure any ailments on its own. Caster has no control over said creature.
2
permanently animates a prepared assembly of bones/ corpse parts. Completely under caster's control.
3.
temporarily reanimates a corpse. this is treated as an undead creature completely under the caster's control.
>>
>>54271466
>Spell 1: Raise Dead
Animates the present or gathered remains of a once-living creature into a servile, mobile undead creature.

>Spell 2: Create Undead
Unifies an imprisoned spirit with a body, which can be the remains of a once-living creature as above or which could be something entirely different - a statue, a pile of different bones, whatever. Who knows what you can bind this thing into. The result is a new undead creature with the spirit animating the body.

>Spell 3: Awaken Corpse
Infuses the present or gathered remains of a once-living creature into an entirely new intelligence seemingly born out of thin air. The creature is undead but is not servile. If the remains are intact - if the brain is physically intact - the creature might have some memories of what composed it but it is not the same individual. You don't need a full corpse for this one but you need at least a skull.
>>
>>54271466
1. Raises a bunch of zombies and requires a body.

2. Essentially summons a ghost or spirit, or helps such a spirit find itself into a host body.

3. Raises a person back from the dead, memories and all.
>>
>>54271466
1.
Resurrects a dead subject to life at 1hp with the potential of possible ability score loss, or other forms of post-resurrection sturpor

2. Create Undead
The higher form of undead Creation that allows a caster to produce higher tiers of undead with a larger degree of necrobiology attributed to their form over the rudimentary use of Skeletons and zombies, as seen with animate dead, which required these subjects for the spell to work. Create undead effectively Creates an undead being out of a corpse opposed to an undead corpse, so ghouls, and wights for example.

3. Awaken Corpse
A touch based spell that allows for a recently deceased individual to speak within the limit of the 5 minute factor that causes brain-death. If you've ever seen the film Reanimator, imagine Dr.West's serum, but it's a spell that enables the dead to speak an extra few words as their brain's functionality wears thin.
>>
>>54271466
>1
Requires a body, raises it from death Jesus-style.
>2
Requires a body, turns a corpse into undead.
>3
Requires an undead creature, makes it sentient.

>Spell 1: Raise Dead
Resurrect or revives someone who has died: heals their wounds, diseases, and restores them to functional life. Does not create Undead. Will cause "Resurrection sickness" as the process is uncomfortable.

>Spell 2: Create Undead
Creates Undead from dead bodies. Advanced techniques or branching developments can be used to make different kinds of undead, but at it's base level it simply animates available bodies into undeath.

>Spell 3: Awaken Corpse
Will summon a corpses 'ghost' and keep it pinned in place for a few moments; allowing the caster or anyone nearby to speak with them.
Advanced techniques or branching developments will allow this spell to preserve the intelligence and personae of Undead by placing their actual ghosts back into their (well preserved) bodies. Undead created this way remain PEOPLE.
>>
>>54271466
Levitate a corpse.
Pluck vampires or werewolves from the ether.
Hella loud bagpipes play in the distance.
>>
>>54271466
Rise Dead uses a dead body of any being to create a mindless thrall.

Create Undead allows you to create tailored undead - you can use parts from multiple corpses, creatijng any kind of abomination you want.

Awaken Corpse works like rise dead, except corpse retains its mind, along with all the abilities. It is still undead and under necromancer control. If necromancer orders it to do something against its character it might refuse, or turn onto the necromancer.
