>>
>>54262070
Exactly. At least the former group would be amusing if done right and in a way fitting the CYOA. Shitty anime character rip-offs will be always tasteless though, unless changed to the point of not resembling the source material at all - and then, you could as well give them a different name and some interesting description from the get-go.
>>
>>54262107
I admit that doesn't sound too fun, but I would totally vote for a Harry Dresden Traveller.
>>
>>54261665
I'd rather you have picked from the start Highlander. Both because it would stop the whinging about voting and because I think you have a good vision for what fits and doesn't fit.
>>
>>54262126
Democracy is a spook.
>>
>>54262126
Pretty much. It could work if you'd be sure of anons but I am certain that there is sizeable group who just wants to fuck around and goes for "lolsorandumb" choices for shit and giggles, just because they could - even if it will bring the CYOA down.

Plus, at this point I question of the creator shouldn't move on and create something new and fresh. There's only so many new characters/items you can add to average CYOA before it stops mattering - and either some start showing subpar quality or some stop feeling unique and everything blurs.

Uninformed democracy doesn't work. Which is precisely what this is. We know next to nothing about these characters unless we go digging through the archives. Of course people are only gonna vote for things with the most marquee value. That is, references and things that sound lewd. That's what they know. Everything else is too foreign to consider or sounds dull.

Not posting their entire character card or at least a larger piece of information would have made this more palatable I think.

That is some shit taste you got there. She is a sociopath who is only acting good to get into the pants of that Shaymin girl.

Then again all of the original 16 seat people are sociopaths. They committed genocide over "muh trust" because God was being autistic, and nobody in the world is really worried about them doing it again.
>>

Underground is one of the best faction. Better than being an Imperial cuck who uses force to keep order or an Ragnarokfag who can't handle reality and wants to create a safe space.

Why follow the seats when it's shown that a good deal of them are incompetent or immoral. The only underground person who comes close to the worst seats is the psychic one.
>>
>>54262702
>comes close
I will definitely agree that most of them are FAR better people, but the psychic one jumps the shark so hard it blows everything out of the water and goes nuclear on the "Not Okay" scale. I'd say he doesn't come close, but rather surpasses almost if not everyone in the setting in terms of being an asshole. Most of the other Warlords are pretty cute though.
>>
>>54262702
>Good deal of them are incompetent or immoral
They literally built society though. How can one be incompetent and immoral if all of society was built by them.

King alone is basically their world's Aristotle.
>>
>>54262743
I hate that they grounded him.
>>
>>54262736
>>54262702
Psychic Warlord isn't that bad of a guy and doesn't do things out of malice. Slavery is just a natural business and its not his fault they didn't want to regulate it and he makes bank doing it.
>>
>>54262799
Anon, being polite in personal conversation does not make an individual less of a "Bad guy", it merely shows refinement in one's social abilities. This is leading to an oft had discussion about the a myriad of topics ranging from the sanctity of free will, what it means and if it exists, and of the subjective or objective nature of morality. It is a discussion that would branch into too many subdivisions to keep track of, leading to nothing but annoyance and mild to above average frustration for everyone involved who feels strongly about the philosophies behind either viewpoint.

That is all horse-shit.

Do you honestly think there is nothing wrong with personality-death?
>>
>>54262743
When your society needs a military police keeping dissenters quiet and splinter factions start popping up that's a pretty clear sign of incompetence on their part as basically governors. As for amoral you have Empty, Genesis, Decadence, D before his defection (and after), and Arios' sons.
>>
>>54262862
>There are anons getting summoned to work as a janitor that aren't wiping away ALL the filth.
It always baffles me why people don't want to destroy all of it. It should all burn down. Wipe the slate clean and hope you don't have to clean the next one as well.
>>
>>54262880
>implying Constel would let you kill her children

That right there is basically why the setting is fucked. Decadence at least seems like she can be handled by Color but Genesis would be a constant menace that can't really be stopped effectively due to Constel's protection and his time warping hijinks.
>>
>>54262933
If someone kind find the winning combination of items, abilities, and types we could break the system by abusing the universe's own coding to find a glitch and surpass everything that would try stopping us.

Or, you know, tame the God with the janitorial Dick.
>>
>>54262862
>When your society needs a military police keeping dissenters quiet.
The military according to the CYOA are the police and national army. Not only that, but there is actual companions who are from the military police and they show its not a bad job.

The problem going on is that you got the royal guards acting like the military police and are being asses to the vast minority. Because a lot of the companions who aren't Underground are okay with the government and the way its done. Hell even some of the Underground Warlords like communicating with the government they are suppose to be opposing and makes deals with them.

>Empty, Genesis, Decadence, D, and Arios.
Empty was having a philosophical crisis and needed it solved to help society.

Genesis and D did nothing wrong and were just trying to help people. Its not their fault their wish granting device made their shit backfire super hard.

Decadence is an ass along with Arios and her children.
>>

Literally everyone agrees that Decadence has been doing a good job since she returned from exile, and while she's condoning Cornelia's actions, she still has all of the Protectors under her thumb. There aren't many people better suited to the task of overseeing a group of insane self-righteous paladins than her, for better or worse, and she knows by now that she'll never actually get the chance to destroy the world so trying is a waste of time. And Genesis is still autistic.

>Unironically believing that Meliorate wouldn't kill anyone and everyone related to the Protectors as soon as he found out they tried to have the previous hero breed with Amew
>As soon as he found out they tried to have the previous hero breed with Amew
Why would he kill them? The hero wanted to breed with Amew regardless of the protectors wishes, he couldn't because Pasille was being a clingy bitch and wanted him to breed her instead (Which he refused).

Even then. Not like they are going to kidnap the child of their god if she was bred.

>Trusting a time travelling asshole who is trying to play the entire world like pawns in order to achieve what he wants and was willing to kill the guy who saved existence as they knew it because he "got in the way"
Genesis is insane and he engineered the Protectors to be what they are now, as well as planting the splinter between Cornelia/Augustus/Constantine. He's the least logical of the three. Decadence isn't much better, but Meliorate is an emotional wreck who blames himself for everything after the fact, and he'd go too far in trying to fix the Protectors, they might become their own faction if he did.

2 page update soonâ„¢.
>>
>>54263282
What was the CYOA going to be about
>>
>>54263409
It was essentially the original concept for Prey 2. You are stranded in a giant alien megacity as pretty much the only human after being abducted by dickass aliens. You can't go home, and you're stuck in the criminal underworld. Pick what kinda crimes you want to do, what parts of the city you live in, what your gear is, who your companions are, etc. I wanked to one of the companion ideas I had.
>>
I am new to this of CYOA making but apparently masturbating to your creations while you are in the creating process it seems to kill your inspiration or something is this true?
>>
>>54263448
I have the opposite experience. It was the only thing motivating me to get even half done mine before I realized I didn't care enough about the subject matter.
>>
>>54263448
Somehow I've managed to write descriptions like "They prevented the summoning of the Old God and slew its dinosaur servants." without masturbating, so I wouldn't know.
>>
>>54263448
That's why I only fap to my creation once it is complete.
>>
>>54263355
>Trusting a time travelling asshole who is trying to play the entire world like pawns in order to achieve what he wants and was willing to kill the guy who saved existence as they knew it because he "got in the way"
Genesis was trying to do what was best for everyone, the Protectors were made to help protect the land and worked fine until Cornelia went retarded.

Augustus thing was his own damn fault because Decadence pulled "It was just a prank, bro." on him. Constantine is a decent guy who likes his former job, but is dealing with military officers who don't like the Protectors for reaasons.

>Meliorate is an emotional wreck
Not really.

>Who blames himself for everything after the fact
Which is true. He was too dumb to see what was happening to Amew to stop it and he jumped into Reshiram and Zekrom war too late, and was too weak to stop the Darkness.

He could fix up the Protectors well since he's the most upstanding Imperial.

>implying you even need 50 points
First take the conspirator background. Next you need at least one follower. Get that follower Shard Administration with the second trigger, negentropy might be nice too but a better option might be to go for foreign element neither are required. Now you just need to get yourself Unlimited Shard Works, possibly with second trigger, and then Power Sight, and either copycat or power hub, and you would ideally want both negentropy and foreign element. Then buy as many caldron vials as you can. Then get your follower to modify your shard to fuse it's capabilities so that you see all shards and copy their powers permanently. The only difficulty here is getting the various 25 point powers. I suggest getting a second follower that has Path to Victory, and get whatever other one you want to start with the most for your third follower(you will want all three to max how many caldron vials you can get). Then select another three of the 25 point powers and give them to your three Nemesis. At this point I got bored of writing up my various caldron vials, regardless you're ready to begin your own cycles now and should be able to surpass the entities.

This is my autism speaking, but the more power I can get in a cyoa, the more I fear losing that power, the only "God" power combination that managed to appease my autism was ST perpetuance+bringing an end, immortality, good defense and immunity to simurgh mind rape in one package, I mean, the simurgh cant mind rape if I am her master right?

I admire the guys who can make all those creative builds with only 10 or 20 points, I cant, my autism always flares up and I end up selling my soul for even one more point.

You should work on that. Like, if you want to enjoy CYOAs more, put a concerted effort into curbing that tendency. I used to have the same problem, but I started thinking about it as writing characters to go into the setting rather than trying to "beat" the setting. That, plus getting more creative with how I win. It really made me enjoy stuff a lot more.

I don't know if it would work for you, but at least something to think about.

My favorite ability combo from this is still Schrodinger + Combo. Just one punch and you're hitting harder than a car crash. Two hits and you're vaporizing a regular human. Ten punches and you're pretty much a human suitcase nuke. It just gets crazier from there.

What if, lads, and stick with me here, I made a CYOA about being a space-pirate/space-privateer.

You'd pick a class of ship, some utilities and weapons, and other general gubbins. Then, you'd pick a crew and a few missions or some shite.

It'd be a pretty low tech setting, with most stuff being speculative science stuff. Image familiar.
>>
>>54263952

Villains get one extra power point for every level in all flaws, a hero that picks all levels of case 53 will get 3 points, a villain will get 6.

If you are willing to become an eldritch horror that suffers constant headaches while still being more hated than hitler, you can hit 50+ points.

Ramming would not be in any way viable.

I'm talking sitting on opposite ends of a fucking planet flinging blocks of super cooled osmium at each other, whilst carefully maneuvering as to not fall into the planet's atmosphere.

If you'd be close enough to ram, you're close enough to have 5 billion hull ruptures due to incoming small arms fire.

>>54264153
Similar in tech level to firefly, (save that there's no FTL) Actually, now I'm not certain firefly has FTL, given that the "'Verse" is literally just one solar system but tonally quite different. I wouldn't say space oprea-y though. More "war is hell" type shit.

>how does piracy actually work?

If you mean mechanically how does it work: Slowly drifting along shipping lanes before filling merchant ships with holes and looting the remains. I would note, that there aren't many pirates, on account of there not being much traffic, but one side basically starts hiring/funding mercenaries to start building/purchasing their own warships.

If you mean in an extended "how have they not been stopped" way, it's because no-one has enough warships to actually go and stop them, and once they do have enough warships, everyone decides to start a nice big war, and are far too busy to deal with pirates.

This is something I've actually considered at length, and whilst I do exaggerate the fragility of ships quite a bit (armour paneling to stop micro meteorites/low caliber rounds is a given.) they have access to two stage railguns and directed energy weapons, so sub 1km combat would be rare.

Anyone know how the blessing 'Free to choose Monster Soul (High)' is meant to be interpreted? Is it just a straight-up free monster soul, or do you need the skill to harness monster souls to use it?

Because just looking at is, there seems, mechanically, very little reason not to take it.

Because a) for ramming being viable the whole setting as the creator sees it has to be revamped from ground up. Which would ruin it for me, as I like it just the way it is.
There is also b, but it's irrelevant for now.
>>
>>54264458
But i do not seek for the creator to revamp the CYOA i just find the creation of a ramming ship a fun and engaging challenge

It's not about fun. It's about the setting, and the internal logic within that setting.

I'm not sitting here hunched over my keyboard laughing about all the fun I'm depriving you of. Quite the opposite. Internally consistent settings are fun, and that's what I'm trying to achieve.

I know that you (for some reason) feel quite strongly about this, so rest assured, I'm not going to make ramming impossible, it's just that hitting an enemy ship at orbital velocities is probably the posterchild of bad ideas.

I went with Kingmaker with Second Trigger, plus Replication, which comes down to a total requirement of 23 Shard Points (not gonna bother listing the flaws and such).

The very second I start the Adventure, I can just use Kingmaker to give my first clone 7 points' worth of powers, and because my clones have the same starting powers that you have, they can in turn give you powers as well.

After all, you're not using Kingmaker on YOURSELF, you're using them on CLONES who THEN use them on you.

With every week, more powers will become shared between yourself and the clones, as each clone will be able to augment any new clones, until finally, after ten weeks, you and all ten of your your clones will each have access to 70 points' worth of non-Trump powers.

I mean, you won't have any new powers higher than 7 points, but it's still pretty awesome, and should be more than enough to deal with the Enbringers and Scion.

I like your approach, make your CYOA. With enough options for micromanaging rooms, crew, equipment, options that go beside 100% utilitarian (some decor with effects, stylistics of the ships that affect things), some companions with and without implied lewds (I expect being able to loot shipments of high-quality sexdroids) it can be pretty fun even in the stardust way.

Also, make sure to not do shortcuts like how it went with the cthulhu thing. Wasting such potential is a sin.

I suppose it should be interpreted as written: you get the soul of any high rank monster for free. And I assume the author included such option for the people who just want to have some fun without min/maxing or having to deal with a dragon/strange.

Regarding the actual value of a dragon soul, we can only especulate since the CYOA lacks a proper parameter scale and don't include information about weapons or the effect of potions (enhancers). And, arguably, you can get any soul if your build is strong enough. I miself hope that the spells of an Int 12 sorcerer (with a bit of teamwork, of course) is enough to get me the souls of a phoenix, a cerberus and a dragon.

>>54265040
I guess its a tricky line to walk, especially in the world of anon. I've had some fun discussions about builds and the thought behind them, but its easy to come off as irritating when doing so, so I've just kind of stopped.

Posting my laziness challenge build; can you think of a less effort to do your job build than mine?

>Exterminator
>Stealth Rank 2

>Lynx
>Babe

>Explosive Satchel Rank 2
>Melee Weapon
>Leathers

>The Band
>Creepy Cult

Start with the The Band to get enough tokens to afford the Rank 2 Satchel, and it all goes from there. With 4 Firemines, 1 pound of C4 and 2 Shardbombs and the Stealth to set them up I should be able to trap and kill the boss and its flunkies in relative safety.

The Cult in turn should be easy enough to bomb into nonexistence.

After that, life is easy. Two or three times a week I sneak up one a band of goblins or whatever and throw a Shardbomb or two at them from hiding; maybe I'll set some Firemines up instead if I feel the need for variety. The Lynx picks off any stragglers or wounded while I go out for a smoke; in my copious off time, I go for a walk with my cute piglet to meet cute girls. Maybe waifu the fairy, if we can get some size magic going on to get that to work.

When Gallardio's tour is over, I'll sign up with the Summer Elves to defend the forests.

>Kalos

Wouldn't take her into the field with us, but having her back at base to return to and heal us up would be big help. Also she is super cute

>Skirmisher and Scout
We should excel in this field, we can find them before they find us and pick our battles.
>Strike Targets
>The Dollcrafter
Again relying on my enhanced sensory skills, I should be the best man for the job of tracking down the mad bomber.
>Syl and Khor
This will probably be the biggest challenge; I imagine we'd be closely matched in hunting skills, so I think I'd try take advantage of her desire to go for the kill and lead her into an ambush with Kalos' help.
>Elven Bride: Valanna Swansong
A cute and dutiful elf waifu is quite a reward, and having the Summer Elf forests as my new hunting ground should be good for both us and them.

>2 succubus of my choosing from Crusaders Companion
>Twin Wives, shy and loud, Bali and Fiyu
>An eldritch monster baby that will be loyal to me
>A grand dragon loyal to me

And that's not even my royal cabinet yet!
>A cute death girl Ophelia to help guide me in death kingdom
>Owl Girl as my eyes and ears
>A monk dude for wisdom and as a bodyguard
>A dapper celestial being as a diplomat
>A slightly mad genius for some war strats
BUT THAT'S NOT ALL, as death I get +2 seals and +2 bodyguards so I Also get:
>A savage nomad girl for EVEN MORE WISDOM
>A top tier mage to also act as A straightman since all the ladies are wacky so far
>A girl trapped inside a cellphone with infinite knowledge
>A ?sentient? magical train compadre, who I take the creative liberty of allowing to change forms into a pale horse (death motif)

My perceptions of the world, some vital knowledge that I've lost? It's an eerie feeling of not knowing, It feels as if I've somehow spiritually died or lost something which imitates death. It's a League of Legends one, somewhat similar to the really old and outdated one.
It starts with you accidentally being whisked away from your reality/dimension/world (whatever you want to call it) by the cosmic force of balance taken physical form. He dosent really care that he's pretty much kidnapped you but is willing to give you safe passage to the world he normally dicks around in, Runeterra (the world of League of Legends.)
From there you meet a character who introduces and explains the faction and location to you, and is willing to induct you into the faction in some manner of position. They also confirm that your magical journey from your world to theirs has given you magic that has yet to form. They tell you that you can basically learn magic or an ability from a companion who is willing to teach you. They will also introduce you to Champions, though maybe a maximum of five.
Their will be missions and quests available based on what Faction you chose, and drawbacks where some will be mandatory based on what faction you chose.
There will be an Unaffiliated faction, which is just basically you wandering Runeterra. Bard gives you some magic or magical items that helps your travels greatly. All the champions that don't quite fit into a faction can be found on the road so to speak.
There will be a mystery portal you can enter that returns you to the time when an organisation called The Institute of War pretty much ruled Runeterra because their stick was ridiculously big, aka they were pretty powerful. COnflicts between Factions were solved via a match were 2 teams of 5 Champions battle it out atop a magical virtual battleground. You can either be a summoner or a champion.

This is basically what I have planned, excluding all the fluff. and what not.
Also, pic related is Bard.

Dragoon

Precision - R1
Magic - R3 11
Regeneration - R3 16
Endurance - R3 26
Sentient Sympathy - 29
Beast Eye - R1 30

Ancient Dragon 5
Babe

The Hook - E4 5
Air Belt - R3 8
Weapons - R4 18
Cudgel - R1 20

Mega Yandere

For the weapon I'm going with a dagger as apparently swinging it will blast the element of choice and I'm going with wind. Between a dagger that blasts extremely powerful gusts of wind, magic, togglable weightlessness and an unbreakable hook I should be able to fly around and tangle up pretty much whatever comes at me while blasting it with magic. It'd be a dangerous game but I'm practically indestructible.

Took the yandere challenge as it helps with the whole legend = loneliness thing and with Sentient Sympathy it shouldn't be too hard to explain that keeping us together and making the city the most secure in the world is a better idea than antagonizing the unhinged most powerful human in the world. Worst comes to worst we'll go into exile and try to unite other exiles under our own banner.

I was fiddling with the idea of you coming into contact with a cosmic being who basically rewrote the lore of the world to exclude the Institute for reasons, and he is willing to accept an idea from you to remake the world again based on what you wanted, i.e "I want cute guardians to guard this world!" will make it a modern au where the Champions would appear in school, as teachers or as modern equivalents or such, and the ones that have the skin would BE Star Guardians. You could also choose to be a Star Guardian, or whatever Skin the AU is centred about. Since the larger skin lines are basically alternate universes with their own lore (see PROJECT line), it sort of made sense. This was also how I was going to include the Institute of War where you say "Bring back old lore pls".
>>54267712
Maybe a raunchier and obvious AU, something along the lines of "I want a world of sexy women!" or "[OTHER GENERIC FETISH HERE]!"

In which context would a race of all male aliens who impregnate anyone (and I do mean ANYONE) they have sex with work best?
