I just want to get this off my chest
> The DM is just an ember of what he used to be
> Play and pacing is so slow and there are bouts where he takes mini-breaks to decide what is going on
> It's like watching a slow motion car crash
> Try to talk to him about letting someone else DM
> 'Nah Anon I got it'
> He's like the aged boxer that thinks he's still got 1 good fight in him
I dunno what else to say to him.
Maybe try to take some interest in him as a person rather than just a DM.
Instead of pussyfooting around it, talk to him openly and directly about your concerns like an adult.

I did. He refuses to give up but you can tell he's absolutely run out of steam. He's just being pure stubborn and refuses to see the writing on the wall.
Is the game being held at his house? If not, just ask the other players if they'd be willing to play a game you're GMing instead, and set up a different time for it.
