What's the best class to play if I want to be a shaper from geneforge?
You kill yourself, because Agent was the superior choice.

But I want to summon loyal minions and look good doing it.
What game? Pathfinder has the preservationist Alchemist which would fit the bill nicely.

Tell me about each games class.
god, I want a new geneforge game

Same. We shouldn't have it though. It'll be shit.

This.
Last geneforge had more endings than most modern CRPGs combined.

So true.

Nah, Jeff Vogel's good. I'm sure he'd make a good new game if he had the reason to do so. Maybe he'll, at least, remaster them like he's doing with the Exile series.

True that but I still don't think it'll live up to the expectations we'll all have. We're so used to such amazing games we might not like what we get.

There's always Avadong...
Oh wait, a good game. Yeah, I wouldn't be holding my breath. He's trying for mass market appeal and failing hard on all points.

I've only played the first Avadon, it was okay, but yeah definitely not up to Exile/Avernum, Geneforge or Nethergate. Real shame, I grew up on those games. I'm hoping his new engine/game he is working on is better.
OP here. For context Shapers have the ability to create and alter life, to create beasts to do various tasks such as domestic work, labor, and combat.
Your best bet might be to get with your dm and homebrew up a class to make sure you really get all you want out of the character, assuming you got a cool dm.

Well D&D of course.
