It's a decent game, but GW started a marathon sprinting, and with unlaced shoes. Hopefully they get their act together, own up that the end times with how it ended was dumb and do an alternative ending that was not crap. its not hard, end times and nuking of the universe is the biggest thorn I AoS right now. I mean really if you look st it objectively it's all over the map. Who is AoS trying to appeal to? Honestly I'm not trying to troll I really wanna know what was the target market for AoS? Because the the process is pleasant from start to finish. In my experience, longer games do not add anything compared to shorter ones, they just add (often superficial, like infinity) steps onto the basic.

Because it's a great looking model and female character design that shows that the character is female but does so in a manner that makes sense and fits with the rest of the world established. Look at the boobplate for instance, it looks like it provide support for the female anatomy, but isn't concave in the center of the chest like most boobplates. Breastplates designed with the concave chest piece would cause any force from in an incoming attack against the chest piece to be redirected to the center of gravity, which is bad. The Stormcast breastplate redirects that force to the sides of the frame, which dispersesthe force more.

Carnosaur/Trog: 8.5" long, 3.5" tall (trog is 4.2" or so with the sail)
Bastiladon: 5.5" long, 2.2" or so tall at the shell without anything on it
Stegadon: 6" long with the longest horns, 2.3" or so at the hip with no howdah.

You've posted before and I will give you the same advice that I gave back then. You need magic to go along with the phoenix. Get a Hurricanum and switch the head of the mages with an elf.

On their own elves sort of fucking suck. They have no great standout options for their cost. They tend to do average damage, have average survivability, and no broken shit. This leaves you with an army that seemingly seems alright but in reality loses to anything competitive because competitive armies are built around fucking up these armies.

Look at what makes phoenix guard good. Not only do they have 2 attacks at 3/3/-/1 but they back that shit up with a fucking 4+/4+ save. On average that shits going to block 75% of all wounds coming into your guard. This makes them broken as fuck for tarpitting important models that your enemies want to do damage to shit that might actually die.

Now, compare Phoenix guard to Spearmen. Now you've got one attack each for 4/4/-/1, which is a straight downgrade. Your save is also 5+ with rerolling 1's too, which only blocks around 40% of wounds coming in. Obviously they're cheaper but really you're not getting great value for them.

You need something that packs a punch and lets you win games. Does not need to be magic necessarily but it will help with the Phoenix.

I was thinking of taking a Chaos Knight, Chaos Warrior, Pink horror and 4 marauders. Any better ideas on what I should bring? I'm building them all into a nurgle theme.

Moral reasons.
GW was turning their business model around when they came out, and they were cheap as fuck books. Not to mention that the unit rules, which is the main reason people buy them in the first place, are almost all up on the webstore for free (they're in the individual units' store pages, next to the delivery and returns info).
As far as we were concerned, anyone who wanted the whole books for free was a tight-assed little baby who didn't deserve to be spoonfed.
And yet someone still made 2 imgur albums that had the one-page fluff sections and warscroll battalions from the Order book. The links should be in the OP, and if they aren't, someone should get on that.

Do we know if the formations that didnt get points in the last book (like the start collectings and the ones in the realmgate wars books) will get them this edition?

I have been tempted in doing some armies based on those formations or adding others to my currently existing force (5 megabosses, although silly, sounds amazingly hilarious) but without points there's not point(c wut i did thar?) as my local store only does matched play.

Those guys, pink horrors, tzaangors and scutlings are exclusive to silver tower, however the rest are in clam packs (the blue and brimstone horrors are in the new horror box I believe. (though buying all the clam packs is more expensive than the boxset iteself...)

Even then i recommend the box, the models are all fantastic (apart from the mistweaver... stupid model that is difficult to carry without bending... its on my shitlist cos of that) and the game itself is fun with other people if you can chain them down and force em to play with you.

Well decided I am going to take a chaos knight, I figured a Doom Knight with a glaive would work really well for a tough, fast unit in skirmish.

Converted one up out of spare bits and found a bunch of unused chaos knight horses to use, made him nurgle to keep in with my warbands theme. Gonna try make a pink horror nurgle looking, 2pts for a wizard seems great.

Is it worth it to run a Carmine dragon in an Order army? It seems to be pretty good but for nearly 500 points it had better carry some fucking weight around.

Where I live, LOTR is actually more popular than AOS. We're about to have the biggest tournament of the year for a lot of us and LOTR has more people signed up than AOS.

But for some reasons the past few months it's just been shitposting central. And just to lead by example, what do you guys think of Stormfiend so far? Not completely finished but I'm almost finished. His army is magnetized which caused the slight gap between arm and weapon.

As a basis, but I didn't do the camoshade wash. Just did Kislev>Shade>Flayed One Flesh glaze and will probably do a final edge highlight on the muscles. Still a bit on the fence if I'm gonna add battle damage to the armor like I did to the 'melee' fiend. Also, purple wash on Skaven tails looks really good imo, I gave all my old Skaven a new purple tail wash the other day and it really looks better.

Gotcha. Bit annoyed that they give you the prime and normal model in the SC box, and then it's always prime+1 or 2 basic retributros in either the snap fit box or any of the starters, meaning you end up with 3 basic dudes and 2 champions.

mentioned in the lore is something. not sure if it rises to the level of implying there is a release in the pipe for it.
