What were they thinking making this guy cost 400 points?
If you're spending that much you should get a Knight or a Leviathan, not a glorified Ironclad.
It's a character so it's hard to shoot at with an effective 16 wounds and great stats. It's not going to die in a game, that knight is going to get focus'd down by an entire army.
It'll have a hard time making back its points, but it's can wipe entire squads alone quickly with 2d6 str 6 -2 3 damage auto hits + 4 huge CC attacks and 2d6 pistol shots.
The Salamander flamer buff makes it notably more effective, too.

How do you figure that?
I got 13.7 lascannon hits on average to kill
>>54078504
So about four or five turns of shooting at it with a lascannon predator?
>>54078807
Can't shoot at it if it isn't the closest thing
And you don't want it to be the closest thing

Can you move-advance-charge?
If so, Ironclad dreadnoughts running screening to absorb hits with a techmarine and Bray'arth behind them sounds pretty scary.

Seems like the thread summed it up. He isn't killy, but he has a crazy number of saves AND is a character on top of that.
He's basically guaranteed to get into melee so long as you give him even a token bodyguard
And of course, once there, he has Heavy flamers that deal 3 damage a piece and his CC weapon is similarly scary. 3 attacks with d6 damage each isn't quite knight level, but it's still quite strong.
