Is it even theoretically possible to get your campaign to feel "pythonesque" without just parroting all the famous sketches?
Can you do lolrandom in a way that's actually funny?
>mixed alignment party
>hunting vampires
>they try to assault us
>we capture one
>drive the rest off
>they try to harry us with arrows
>party member with magic projectile deflection flail defends us
>we just collect their arrows and fire them back, taunting constantly
>they fuck off
>back to the captured vamp spawn
>string it up on this beached wrecked ship
>tie him around the stump of the mast
>play tetherball with him
>laugh heartily
>interrogate him
>watch him fry in the sun
Silly shit happens constantly without forcing it in our campaigns.

>apparent premise of a scene is derailed by asinine horseshit
Most campaigns are pythonesque.

Every character simply has to be obtuse in the face of the ridiculous.

No. Even if the DM tries to make it work, most of the time the players will make the connection and do the bit on their own.
Python's humor wasn't that unique, it just fluctuated between degrees of dryness, sillyness, and stupidity. One peasant jabbering about anarcho-communism while the other cajoles him into hording more mud for dirty peasant reasons is some shit I would've done if Monty hadn't gotten to it first.

It's all about the execution though. Pyhton is funny. Most gamers trying to emulate it fail badly more often than not. And thus, MP is one of two things which are banes of roleplaying despite being despite being awesome shit on it's ownthe other thing is pratchettAnd that's even setting aside the problem that even non-failing MP/pratchett insertion is completely inadequate in even mildly serious game

Our party member, professional city guard and inquisitor, had just interrogated a man suspected of killing his lovers and decided he was innocent. She leaves the room and finds his younger brother listening by the door. The kid looks kinda weird, is an asshole, hates his own brother and gives sociopathic vibe. It's fucking obvious to everyone. So she tells him:
"Carry on, citizen."
Motherfucker got away.
