Barghest: Turns out running into an ominous room whilst escaping a Yeth hound is a bad idea. Two people hit negitives, but we manged to escape with no deaths.

Granted it took a blind activation of a certain novelty bear claw Seht purchased in the very first session everyone else forgot about.

The thing summons a bear, and gives everyone in a radius bear's endurance. Saved our skin long enough to get outta there. Probably will try to take it down in the 2 year time skip when we arent half dead and have all our resources spent.

For a more accurate playby play. Onryou, having sworn to take out Tsuto herself. Blasts the poor smuck hard enough to nearly kill him with nonlethal damage. Goes down in two round.

Corwin tries to, insanly, suggest that nualia and Tsuto are under some sort of compulsion and tries to break it with some magic. nearly gets him killed. Pulls through in the end with the killing blow to Nualia.

Vilderavn Gets a choice hit in, but is mystically afeared of a Yeth hound and tries to escape into the barghest room. She gets shredded into the negatives.

Aranha gets some good hits in, even gets a sucker pot shot on tsuto making him easier to take down.

Sadly Casimir's most meaningful contribution to the fight was getting nearly ripped in half by the bargest. (Seht and Him were late to the action. Never do one hour naps people, they never work.)

PoW maneuvers are overpowered, in the same way spells are where a few specific ones put them totally over the top. The errata will probably change it but things like battle dragon stance, zenith strikes, nearly all of primal fury, E.flux, reflected blade style, the shattered mirror counter that is a craft check instead of save. These all come to mind as being way too good, and low level.

The base classes for PoW are stupid overpowered, even without the maneuvers. Try building a Brutal Slayer/OD ZS and you'll very quickly see that just with full attacks your damage is a force that needs to be balanced around. Add in maneuvers and that only gets more absurd. Just because a wizard exists doesn't mean that anything less powerful is balanced.

Could take the Unrealized Telekinetic trait from the Spheres of Power TK book, then Counterweight and Kinetic Drift, which would let you float stationary in the air or 'glide' sideways in exchange for altitude as long as you'd like.

Not that anon, but SM is a book from Interjection Games with a bunch of complex magic mechanics in it. I play in a Vancian-free game that makes heavy use of it, so I have some stuff to say about it.

Ethermagic is pretty cool, the classes have a point pool that powers their magic and partially refills every turn. The Ethermancer is a kind of Wizard/Warlock that focuses on blasts, the Ethermagus is the bastard child of a Magus and a Soulknife, and the Etherslinger shoots stuff good. Solid system, the classes hover between tiers 3-4 but closer to 3.

Composition Magic is weird and on one hand I don't care for it, but on the other hand its pretty much how Bards should have always worked. The Maestro is the Wizard/Bard, the Breakdancer is a gish and frankly the nest part of Composition Magic, and there's aCleric/Bard that I forget the name of. Most of the classes are solidly tier 4.

Truenaming is fucking Truenaming, except it actually works this time. I fucking love it. Truenamers are exactly what you'd expect, and the Scions of Discordia learn the universal equivelant of swear words to piss of the universe. Both solidly tier 3.

Spells are marginally more powerful than maneuvers, but spellcasters run out of spells, initiators don't run out of maneuvers.
