In my opinion if you're doing a kind of unlocking/types/tiers cyoa it has to be more compartmentalized and visually see the flow of decisions and options, kinda like the OP cyoa.
Also the country/unit/type of rifle doesn't make sense or have any relevance besides artwork, which your cyoa is full, too much perhaps that doesn't add anything if you don't know it has any utility.
I wrote all of this cause I like the idea and more or less how it's coming out but I the base layout is really weak

Hard choice. Elf, Fox, Warrior, Rogue, Mage, Detective, Virgin, Rabbit, and Cat are all attractive in some way.

Just remember that saving a .jpg will apply the compression algorithm every time, which causes a huge loss in quality if you open, edit, and save the same image over and over again. If you want to save a file for editing later, save it as a .png and then save a separate .jpg copy solely for publishing here.

Unless you use something like Photoshop, in which case you can just save your project file.

The Dressing Room allows you to slowly change your appearance in ways that can't be covered by the magical toiletries or the spa's skin cream, so if you're hella ugly and want to change that you'd have to take that room. The A.I. designer that creates clothes from your imagination is pretty cool too, even if you don't have much of an eye for fashion you could always use fashion blogs/clothing catalogs/etc and just "imagine" those.

The Garage and the conservatory I'll grant you, though there is something to be said for having the Hobby Room, especially if you pick a hobby like woodworking. Unless you take the Key, you can't bring anything into your pocket dimension that can't fit in a large doorway, but with a large hobby room focused on carpentry, you could easily further customize your realm in ways that would otherwise be impossible.

If I had seen the mystery boxes beforehand, I'd put either of those as my top choices.

As a huge fan of Lovecraft, I think you've done an excellent job capturing the creatures and Gods that populate his expanded universe. The art for each one is perfect too, I love the Yith in particular. The writing and tone is very good.

The only criticism I really have is to work on visual design. The right formatting could really add an extra touch to the content, it's a bit plainly designed as is. And the background is a bit...maddening. Really good for your first time, I'd love to see what you can do in the future

I always feel my cyoas lack something important in them, like I'm only providing basic choices and I don't know what I can I add to make it better.

My newest is a Comfy life cyoa with a Doll waifu and worldbuilding: Choice of Doll and personality, choice of scenery, household, events and hobbies enjoyed based off the scenery and time with your waifu.
But they all seem, I don't know, uninteresting maybe? It's supposed to be a low energy cyoa but it feels, too low. It might just be me not being able to fully criticize the cyoa from an outsiders point of view.

Can I get some suggestions on what you guys would like to see in a cyoa like this? Maybe It'll give me a better idea of what I should be doing.


I end up making them too long and biting off more than I can chew with these damn cyoas.

Cause, frankly, it's an uninteresting concept. No, not the concept is uninteresting but the kind of cyoa you're making with it.

Comfy life + waifu is a classic but ultimately unengaging cyoa archetype. There's no sense of adventure, no mystery, no challenge, nothing. Just pick your comfy new life, feel bad because it's not real, and proceed.

I'm really inexperienced so it's probably arrogant of me to offer "advice," but what I found people responded to wasn't just the choices, it was choices that hinted at a larger world. Worldbuilding is kind of a buzzword but it really is important.

I get a doll. Okay, what else? Why is this doll animate and no other dolls are? Or are other animate dolls out there? At the events, how do people react to her? What are her reactions to them? These are really basic questions, but answering them or at least hinting at the answers really adds texture to what would otherwise be "go to amusement park" vs "go to beach."
