So if I took Bribed the Doctor in the Terraformars with a piece of Zion from Worm, and also managed to somehow make him a companion, could I start the cycle on the Johj?

Zion sufficiently advanced exotic matter space crystals and Thus not a candidate for Bribed the Doctor, also considering that he is bigger than many planets and mosaic organs scale in power to how much smaller the animal is from a human , you're probably not going to be in a position to do much of anything with a Zion Mosaic organ.

Winter.

No particular reason.
>>
>>53908511
Fall, since it's not as cold as Winter and not as hot as Summer. I like the falling leaves more, the decline of shit head blood sucking insects. Spring is okay too, rains a lot and I love it when it rains.

I don't really know how much I should wank the Force. Is it essentially useless in the face of a small military or is it the planet buster plot device wielded by Palpatine and Nihilus?

How far do you take the Force after centuries of practicing with it?

Season 3 was objectively the peak of Jumpchain, but I would argue that season 10 was the most entertaining.
>>
>>53908678
Yes.

Seeing that you can do pretty much with it, I would say that it depends on how much time, effort and 'sacrifice' are you willing to put on it.
>>
>>53908350
You're basically going to get nothing because Scion's shards that each individually grant the powers he has, are super massive, and vastly larger than you. That's if his weird biology is in any way compatible, which it likely isn't.

Autumn. It's much cooler than the summertime, but not as cold as winter. The leaves all change into beautiful colours. And it's the time of Halloween, which is my favorite of all holidays.
I even took Autumn as my magic in Chronicles of Narnia.

Conversely, I hate the spring. Absolutely loathe it. Allergies show up, and there's no consistent temperature. It's just freezing in the morning and blazing hot in the afternoon. Fuck spring.
>>
>>53908295
There's a Chick Tract jump, which is almost as good (and possibly crazier).
>>

>Seeing that you can do pretty much with i
I assume you meant "pretty much everything"? Anyway, doesn't the force kinda suck? Iirc it's telekinesis, precog, shitty healing, and some esoteric stuff.
>>
>>53908784
Rabbit season.
>>
>>53908873
In the EU you have the top tier contenders ripping the life out of planets and tugging the cores out of stars. Some of the feats would be hard for an Alpha+ Psyker to match.
>>
>>53908860
remember that Jack was a hard line biblical literalist it's exactly as crazy as the Bible,no more no less
>>
>>53908940
Reminder that you're full of shit.
>>
>>53908959
yes, but not about this
>>
>>53908930
Huh. Does any Star Wars jump actually allow us to get EU style force?
>>
>>53909026
You can reach the level of the top tier force wielders and accomplish their feats. Here's the supplement.
>>
>>53909011
Nah, this too. Literalists who borrow from texts filled with metaphors are crazy.
>>
>>53908678
Depending on how powerful in the force you are and how much you've studied it, it can do quite a few things. Nihilus could consume planets with the force, and since he was the Star Wars version of Galactus he needed to. Palpatine could, at least in Legends lore, create Force Storm wormholes that could destroy planets, the Sith Emperor could dominate the wills of thousands of sith masters and did so to perform some weird planet killing ritual. Naga Sadow could create galaxy wide illusions and created a supernova at some point. Top end Force abilities

>>53909026
The supplement explicitly says you can train to get to those levels, but if you want to be Abeloth you'll need to perform the same thing she did, which would essentially turn you into some HP Lovecraft Force monster
>>
>>53908511
Winter I guess.
>>
>>53909084
I didn't Say he wasn't full of shit I'm saying I'm not full of shit for saying he is exactly as crazy as the Bible it interpreted literally.
>>
>>53908873
Ah, but the esoteric stuff is the fun part. Mindtricks are simple, but force senses and tutaminis stuff can get pretty fun too for example.

>>53909026
Yeah, you can go to the EU canon in a bunch of them, and train up to that level anyway according to the supplement.
>>
>>53909089
Original questioner here, how do you rationalise those feats in line with the feats displayed in George Lucas' vision?
>>
>>53908730
wait, wait what?
>>
>>53909089
> create Force Storm wormholes that could destroy planets

>>
>>53909117

Is schlock.

Also, Aboleth and the Family ended up showing up in his cartoon that he had approved of, so he certainly had no complaints with them.
>>
>>53909117
>implying anyone cares about what George Lucas thinks
>>
>>53909119
Yeah, I don't get it either.

How anyone could find season 10 more entertaining than season 5 or even 7 is beyond me. It was kind of a slow one, so I started to lose interest halfway through.
>>
>>53908759
>>53908549
>>53908551
Uh, well that's a bust.
On a related note, could get Panacea's biokynesis, touch someone with an M.O. operation then copy it over?
Or just make a ridiculously broken microscopic arthropod with it, and get an M.O. operation from that.
>>
>>53909089
>created a supernova
Well, that's certainly a lot stronger than the guys in the Star Wars movies.
>>
>>53909157
It's just a little difficult seeing Qi-Gon Jin do a mind trick or run at 70MPH and then, in the same universe, have the Sith Emperor potentially wipe life out from the galaxy.
>>53909225
This!
>>
>>53909202
that second thing seems reasonable At least,I'm not knowledgeable enough about worm to say if the first thing would be though.
>>
Someone give me opinions on my Charmed build, I've got about 3, really general, routes I'm considering.

The first one is simple and self-explanatory, Witch with Conjuring the Elements for the flexibility and raw power. After that, either support it with perks or just dump everything into being a Witch/Warlock to really double down on power.

Second is Witch with Transformation, Transmutation, and Find Weakness, then fill it out with odds and ends. This is a thematic build, and Find Weakness with the 2 powers means it should be fairly easy to just make whatever I need to kill things, but it lacks immediate firepower and requires preptime. Being able to just snap my fingers and turn anyone way weaker than me into a water cooler is pretty neat though.

Third is a boring Whitelighter build. I like support builds, and they have a lot of neat tricks I like, but being a Whitelighter means I'd be reporting directly to the Elders. From what I remember of the show, they're assholes and I'm not sure how long I could put up with it.
>>
>>53909117
I don't. This is all EU stuff, which he had little jurisdiction over as far as I'm aware. Lucas had a vision of what the Force should be and other authors went somewhere else with it.

>>53909225
EU stuff is leagues beyond what's shown in the movies. George Lucas probably didn't imagine the Force being capable of any of this, and just sort of let other people do what they wanted with it. There's a reason Canon and EU are distinct.
>>
>>53909321
>There's a reason Canon and EU are distinct.
Which has not much to do with Lucas and everything to do with Disney. You're kinda misunderstanding the old canon system under Lucas.
>>
>>53909355
EU stuff has always been out there in comparison to the movies, which were really the only thing that should ever have been considered canon in my opinion.
>>
>>53909312
>Conjuring the Elements
A waste of points. The raw power stuff in Charmed is laughably weak. Going for utility would be your best bet.
>>
>>53908613
Fucking hell, it took me a moment to understand why it didn't work.
Good job you utter twat.
>>
>>53909407
Fuck it!
I'll have Obi-Wan tearing up Star Destroyers and Darth Vader choke every bitch within a five light year radius of him. Make it consistent
>>
>>53909407
>in my opinion.
Which isn't how they were set up originally. There were tiers of canonicity, the EU wasn't non-canon. And frankly, I disagree, because any scheme that lauds the Prequels while shitting on things like the KOTOR series and the Thrawn trilogy isn't worthy of of being considered.
>>
what did you do in RWBY /jc/?
>>
>>53909486
fight Grimm save Penny, sell arms, usual jumper things
>>
>>53909450
The prequels are god awful, I would rather take KOTOR as canon any day. They are some seriously shit films. It would be in everyone's best interest to pretend they didn't exist. Star Wars only had 3 movies before Disney bought it and started remaking them with different characters
>>
>>53909164
I wonder when the current filler will end. The current shitposter-kun arc is pretty meh.
>>
>>53909312
>>53909423
Don't bother buying Transformation and Transmutation, just buy Molecular Manipulation. You'll learn to do that stuff and more after a while anyway, so it's just a waste of points. As for the Whitelighters, if you just do good you should't have to interact with the Elders all that much. And not all of them are assholes either, so you might have some luck as to who you report to.
>>
>>53909486
>Everyone replies with "muh waifu"
>>
>>53909442
Most of the shit that stands out is supposed to be special, like Nihilus being the product of a force blackhole and being completely inhuman and consumed by it, rather than an actual person.
>>
>>53909450
>shitting on things like the KOTOR series
Who is doing this? They must pay for bringing dishonor upon best SW.
>>
>>53909486
I made a build, never jumped it.
>>
>>53909507
I'd disagree on that too desu, the Disney movies suck.
>>
>>53908873
Yes.

Also, what >>53908930 says. Palpatine at some point was mind-controlling the entire galaxy and creating force tornados in space that ate fleets.

>Upon spending decades immersing himself in the many facets of the Force, it was believed that Sidious had a mastery over all known powers, previously unknown powers, and could create new abilities on a whim. By the time of his final death, he had become a nexus of the dark side capable of tearing apart the fabric of space.

>>53909486
Kill the hunters, waifu the Grimm.
>>
>>53909563
Disney and Bioware. Bioware with that piece of shit TOR, Disney by declaring all of it non-canon.
>>
>>53909569
I mean, we've only had the two so far. Rogue one was only good for the Vader scene at the end, the other one was a shitty remake of A New Hope. I mean, seriously, powerful force sensitive on a desert planet that needs to blow up a giant planet killing space station? I wonder where I saw that before. Fucking disney...

Not really. It had some pretty cool stuff, but it was pretty void aside from visuals. The only thing that was better was Grievous being menacing and competent all the time instead of just in some episodes.

The worst part is that he was actually competent and good when not fighting any main character. He murdered a few Jedi in the series, although he still tied or lose to Master Jedi, while in the old comics, books and animated series he would still be a threat to all but a very few Jedi in the galaxy.

Maybe Grievous was too strong to be kept as a recurring villain without him start offing characters every time he appeared. So they needed either to create a new recurring villain that would sit well with the audience or simply use the old one and nerf him enough for the main characters to win the day without being utterly defeated in every single encounter.

A normal Stand is your fighting spirit manifest into the world. An Awakened Stand has you get shot with the Arrow, source of the virus that activates Stands, for a second time. A Requiem Stand has your stand, either normal or Awakened, getting shot by the Arrow.

Awakened stands gain another power along the lines of the previous one. Requiem Stands gain a power that is the apex of what the power could do, like one dude Retcon'd the world with his Requiem.

With all this in mind there is a different mechanic, known as Acts, which allows a person to basically take their Stand further down one abilites development.

Fanwank? I don't think most stands develop in that way. Either they are special in that they can evolve, or they start sentient, but they do not gain a conscience of their own if they lacked one.

Anyway, I guess it's one of those things that would require you to actually import and make them a companion, just like Third Circles, Blood Weapons or other body/soul bounded beings that travel with you without being companions.

>>
>>53911017
Overlord isn't a race, it's a class.
And since classes are abstracted because the jumpmaker didn't feel like inventing hundreds of classes that exist in canon but are never shown the answer is "no, but".

The "but" comes from the fact that the jump doc literally tells you Momonga's exact build in the 42nd Supreme Being scenario.
As in "take these options and you're build is identical to Momonga".
>>
>>53911024
Only if you also take their memories, just taking their stand doesn't do that. They also won't fully recover without their memories, even if you give them back their stand.

>>53911017
Yes, just purchase level 100 and assume that you dumped some levels into race classes

Because otherwise the notes at the end about extra abilities that you get from purchasing heteromorphs make no sense. A level 1 doppelganger can only take one form aside from their default one.
>>
>>53911132
The actual progression is:

Skeleton Mage -> Elder Lich -> (others?) -> Overlord

>>

It's mentioned in the LN (and the manga too iirc) that Momonga's built is mostly an RP choice and actually on the weak side for Level 100 characters.
He says himself he mainly survived PvP by being clever/using good strategy (and having good gear and P2W items of course).

The notes make it clear that taking a race does not grant actual racial levels, just the abilities, so taking it and Level 100 is on par with Level 100 and Realm of Heroes stats wise, with fun abilities on top. This isn't how it works in setting, as >>53911224 points out, just how it works for a jumper

If you buy a race with CP then you're getting all the racial levels for free. Read the notes. Skeleton + Necromancer = Overlord race. You just don't buy the racial levels out your 100 levels, you get them for free.

So a Doppleganger is going actually be a Greater Doppleganger. Like Pandora's Actor, he's able to mimic other classes & races. You're getting frontloaded with stuff to make up for the fact that you have to pay for a race with cp, instead of getting Realms of Heroes for free.

Realms of Heroes + Level 100 = Het Race + Level 100. Although the Het race is going to have a little more stat advantage. However talents make up for it.

Been a while since I read Overlord but is there an Angel equivalent of taking RoH and Lvl 100?
>>
>>53911325
Angels, from what we've seen, seem to have their power based on the 9 Choirs of Angels, and thus the higher the Choir the stronger the Angel.
Top tier would then logically be Seraphim.
>>
>>53911283
While you are answering overlord questions If you choose realm of heroes and level 100 do you gain class abilities from those classes, or just raw stats?
>>
>>53911325
Most of the angels we've seen were scrub tier, but Momonga was talking about the Seraph Empyrean, supposedly one of the strongest angel monsters. You'd likely be quite a bit stronger than that if you took Level 100 + Angel. Probably some kind of Archangel.
>>
>>53911283
Another thing to keep in mind is that Warrior origins don't get martial arts if they're players, at least by canon.
Can't remember if Brellin ruled otherwise in the jump doc.

>>53911325
I'm not sure if that's what you mean, but since Angel is a heteromorphic race Angel + Level 100 is the equivalent of RoH + Level 100.
>>
Jumpers.

Justice, you are confusing archangels with Archangels. They're two different ranks. The Archangels, capital A, are specific individual angels who are essentially the biggest deal in heaven outside of other stand outs like Metatron and Sandalphon.

Rosario + Vampire's "Horehore-kun" and Mushoku Tensei's "Boreas Aphrodisiac Recipe" give you aphrodisiacs that you can make and use on people. They are extremely powerful.
The Mark of Slaanesh from Warhammer Fantasy: Dogs of War KINDOF does that, but it also renders the victim completely subservient to you and is more like a weirdly flavored mind control.

And also, there was this jump about a manga of some sort that had, like, werewolves or something, who all lived on some continent of their own or something, and the jump had elemental powers, and if you picked up Earth you could radiate an aphrodisiac aura of some sort. But I don't remember the name of the jump.

No. The US got ran into the ground before Lex took over, afterwards it became ridiculously strong for a country that wasn't trading with anyone because everyone else was a communist dictatorship. It was a pretty good place, and the post-Superman Earth after Lex won and took over the whole place was even better. The last couple pages reveal that in the Red Son universe, Superman isn't from another planet but from the future. Lex's future, where the world is a superscience paradise like classic Golden Age Krypton is shown to be. Kryptonian powers are due to them all being posthumans. I would say that according to the Overlord wiki. It follows the Christian heirachy. There's 9 classes, in 3 spheres. Class 1 Sphere 3 seems to be the highest the New World is able to summon. My guess for players, Seraphims would probably be the race you're looking for. Seraph Empyrean was considered highest monster, and Ainz said he would have to use his full strength (aka preptime, store items, overmagic) to defeat one.

Depends on how expansive the setting is, how obsessive the fandom is, and how much I care.

If I can get through whatever the setting is in a reasonable amount of time then I might as well. If its a game that I dont care for then usually theres a Lets Play I can tolerate somewhere on youtube.

If the fandom is obsessive enough to have a detailed wiki then usually I prefer that.

Even in settings I like I prefer to set off into lesser known parts and create my own plot.

I like wiki walking, but only casually so if I NEED to obsessively research I generally already really like the setting to begin with.
>>
>>53911224
>Momonga build is shit
But it's actually not. He downplays himself a lot, but all of the other guild-members mention how strong he is. He is not a DPS, he is a wildcard, meaning that he can do anything that the situation demands, from DPS to tank (through summons) and support (he has divine magic and healing abilities thanks to Dark Wisdom).

Also, in the NW he is even stronger due to having a lot of free summons to use (that are only useless against vampires or things that can recover HP by doing damage) and instant-death magics that at bare-minimum will stunt you or kill you regardless of your HP.
>>
>>53911864

If it's interesting i generally at least take a look at the source material.
If it's not i just gloss over the exact happenings. "Did some things, fought some people, wandered around, stayed away from the plot then the jump ended" kind of thing.

Since i picked up Universal Canon from Lone Wolf i can even justify the "stayed away from the plot" bit even if i know litte to nothing about a setting.
Which is mainly why i picked it up relatively early, along with Railroad Plot from Dungeon Siege 2.
If i don't like the setting/characters and the world doesn't end jumper-me goes to quite some lengths to avoid getting involved.

And if that means spending 10 years lazing around with my companions then i am willing to pay that price!

No offense, but have you ever actually played an MMO? Because that's kind of a build that screams "it's for roleplaying".
Any of those roles (DPS, Tank, Healer) requires specialization at the high end. A jack of all trades character just sucks in PvE.

As for PvP, instant-death immunity is kind of the first thing people pick up if it's possible (it is in canon), which makes Necromancy a pretty lame specialization for that aspect of the game.

And his summons are at most a nuisance to actual Level 100 players or some minor extra dps against serious PvE content, but they're certainly not tanking anything level appropriate.

The reason that Momonga dominates in the NW is that he's ganking noobs.
The local legendary figures are mostly low-mid tier Realm of Heroes, which is like level 40-50 at most.

As for the whole "his guild members mention how strong he is", that's very likely just japanese politeness.
I still remember people telling me how good my japanese was when i was there, and i know for a fact that i sounded like a retarded toddler.

Seraph Empyrean seems to be a monster/summon race. Just like Overlord Wiseman.

>>53912046
He was definitively a high-tier player, putting skills aside, and the necromancer build translates pretty well to the NW compared to others. Basically anything that has AoE and summons seems to be the best in the new world, because all of those are amplified due to having independent but loyal summons that you can control telepathically and AoE seemly having more destructive effects.

>>53911903
I don't think that was mentioned. He spent most of his time in the game, but everyone else seemed to be equally adicted to the internet and videogames. People took sick leaves to finish quests to get the materials for the staff, and several guildmembers also played other games while spending hundreds of hours in YGGDRASIL.

Greater Doppleganger and True Vampire are the only ones that seem to be stronger than canon (because True Vampire is an advanced class). The rest doesn't seem to come with any extra abilities. Although you could interpret it as starting with level 20 instead of level 1.

Also, we don't know if a normal Doppleganger can also copy classes, since the only canon level 1 Doppleganger only had a single alternate form and that was given by her creator (meaning that she wasn't going to lose it in favor of another form).

I'm pretty sure the mangaka never really played an MMO. After all he was saying stuff was hidden, and people liked to keep their secrets. Which if anyone played any MMO you would know those two are the total opposite.

First there's always leakers. There's always gonna be someone who's gonna leak information. Second there's datamining. If there's not leakers, there's those who datamine for information. Third there's social media, livestraming is a huge thing now. I would imagine it would just get bigger. Twitter, FB, Instagram...etc.

>As for PvP, instant-death immunity is kind of the first thing people pick up if it's possible (it is in canon), which makes Necromancy a pretty lame specialization for that aspect of the game.
And The Purpose of All Life is Death doesn't really change that, since it's a really high-end skill, near or at the level cap, and it only works for twelve seconds every one hundred hours. Plus, it puts all your spells on delay, so a DPS-focused build could probably kill Momonga before the instant death spell actually kicks off. So Momonga would have been a complete waste in PVP for most of his time in the game, and then only became a moderately useful in the right circumstances PVP build.

Well, yeah. Same problem as with SAO.

But if we have the guy in canon saying his build was for RP and take into account japanese rules of politeness regarding the whole "his guild members said he's strong" in addition to basic logic - if one build could do it all there'd be no need for different specializations, it's against the basic principle of MMO design - i'll go with the "it's an RP build" interpretation.

You are wrong in one aspect: the game had economics and a huge ass map. That both encourages exploration and keeping secrets for yourself and your guild. Since things had also a real-money value attached to them, it reinforces that concept.

>No offense, but have you ever actually played an MMO?
Yes, but YGGSIDRIL is not a 'MMO' at use in the way that it deals with magic and abilities. It clearly more of a large game of Epic D&D (because that's where the author gets his inspiration).

>A jack of all trades character just sucks in PvE.
Yet Momonga was assigned to the 'best' team to fight the hardest boss.

>As for PvP, instant-death immunity is kind of the first thing people pick up if it's possible (it is in canon)

There no such thing in canon. Only undead races have it. It could be resisted, but high-end spells come with other penalties even if you resist it. And some spells, like True Death, made resurrection impossible if you didn't had a cleric at hand to make use of a high-tier resurrection spell.

>And his summons are at most a nuisance to actual Level 100 players or some minor extra dps against serious PvE content, but they're certainly not tanking anything level appropriate.

Except they are actually useful. Any Death Knight can always tank two hits (regardless of how much damage they do) and it attracts aggro of anyone (both abilities are translated into real world, Death Knights just force you to hit them).

And other NPCs come with useful auras or abilities. Summoner was definitively a viable job.

>As for the whole "his guild members mention how strong he is", that's very likely just japanese politeness.

He was in the 'strongest' group and they handled pretty well the hardest boss in the first try.

>>53912598

Well multiple reasons for it, first the game was heavily against nonhumam races. You got buffs for killing non human players. You could also buy items to get around pretty much any thing that was thrown at you, by the end of the game it was completely pay to win.
>>
>>53912966

>>
>>53912908

>>

>>
>>53912906
How can you choose? All shades of red must be shown the love they deserve!
>>
>>53912908
For all we know, it seemed to encourage cooperation rather than solo-adventuring. Seeing that there was a guild-based economy and that guild wars and invasions were a constant thing as they hold territories and controlled important resources for the rest of the players, going alone would probably not accomplish much.

It seemed to be unbalanced as fuck, but the whole guild customization system and it's economy seem to be fun enough for the game to last 12 years. There was also the fact that even with a good build you required to be actually good to get to high-places, specially if playing warriors or ninjas.
>>
>>53913000
It lasted for so long in spite of the poor game design really, it was basically epic dnd in a vr world. The reason it made as much as it did was because the real world is a toxic level polluted shithole, you had to have fake lungs to survive in it and you had to pay subscriber fees to keep people from hacking your brain with nanobots, literally, and stealing all your info. Not to mention no labor laws anymore as slime guy was literally being worked to death.
>>
>>53913049
From what I remember, most of them quit because of irl responsibilities. The game was actually really popular.
>>
>>53913000
It's not that unbelievable.
I still remember Aion having mechanics that explicitly encouraged higher level players to gank PvE'ing lowies of the other faction (Rifts).

And perma-death was actually a thing in online Diablo 2 (hardcore league), and people still pvp'ed (and ganked) and generally played it.

There's a few other PvP MMOs out that, while not having perma-death, do have full looting. People play that too.
Hell, Ultima Online had full looting for a long time and it was rather successful.
>>
>>53913049
>All WCI are probably known at that point
>Some of them can literally kill half of the player population or destroy an entire world
>P2W, large guilds and high-skill players made impossible for new-comers to enjoy the game unless they were masochists or joined a preexisting guild

But I should also mention that something similar happens with all PvP asian MMOs. You either enter when it opens or you will never be able to do anything relevant on the game.

Everyone is psychic. Everything is psychic.
All is fucked.
>>

Arcane magic kills plants. The world is divided into city-states that are ruled by sorcerers who used arcane magic to turn themselves into psychic super dragons.

So there's like this desert planet, right? Just huge swathes of endless desert. And there's, like... I guess mages who draw power by devouring the life force of plants? Which kills them deader than dead and causes the world to become even more dead.
And so there are some holdouts, of like druids and shit, that live in little forest patches and are CRAZY MILITANT, because if they aren't, some asshole mage will come by and devour the forest when there's not a lot forest left in the world, so they're like the last bastion of life.
And everyone else just lives in shitty little hovels and desert towns and shit where water is worth more than gold.

And there's, like, elementals that are formed from the desire for all things to decay and death and shit, like... Silt Elementals? I think?

Dark Sun is an alternate setting from standard D&D. The basic gist of it, is that a magic apocalypse caused massive damage to the landscape, creating a dangerous wasteland of terrifying monsters and dangers. The Gods have left, died, or are otherwise absent, and in their place people worship the powerful and ancient Spirits of the land. Most of the civilized areas are controlled by immensely powerful Sorcerer-Kings. The use of Arcane magic is largely frowned upon, as the untrained use of it causes actual damage to the landscape. Psionic magic is rampant, in the form of "Wild Talents," powers and abilities that randomly manifest in the general populace.

I can't stress enough that the world is a very dangerous one. I believe in the original release of Dark Sun, it was stated that your average citizen is equivalent in power to a standard lvl 3-4 character, because you have to be that dangerous to survive in this world.
>>
>>53914860
Dark sun is a setting where everything has gone to shit.

Magic is broken so wizards are either evil or weak. They either corrupt the land for power or try to gain power without fucking up the land, the latter is weaker.

Clerics serve the elements rather than the gods (who give no shits about that world). They are generally not healers. Druids are more or less the same as in other settings.

Psionics are more common there, Psions basically replace arcane casters in the roles they play in other settings. Basically they are sorcerers with mana instead of slots.

The planet is mostly barren and shitty were the only places that aren't are either ruled by evil overlords or too small to support a major settlement.

>>
>>53915000
There is an option to go the opposite direction: dragons are desecration, but there is the angelic life giving option. That side is all about self sacrifice though.

The only 'friends' you'd get would be those who either fear your or would worship you might; everyone else is competition and views you as such.

The dragon transformation has stages of varying power and is powered by mass sacrifice and murder. There's prolly stats somewhere online.
>>
>>53915054
I have a feeling it's either not going to survive the invasion of Azerothian forces, or Blizzard is going to pull something huge out of their asses, maybe using the Draenei, to "purify" and restore Argus.
>>
>>53915000
No. It will make every druid want to kill you.
It'll also make every other arcane caster want to kill you because plant life is limited and they don't want to share.
The (psychic) wildlife wants to kill you anyway because you're food.
The elves want to kill you because they're asshole desert bandits.
The people from other city states also want to kill you because you're from the wrong city.

Basically everything wants to kill you, almost everything and everyone is psychic to one degree or another, the only pieces of "civilization" that are left are ruled by evil god-kings with their own armies of empowered inquisitors and everything else is lifeless desert because asshole wizards.
And everything wants to kill you.

And the dragon kings are powerful enough to grant their followers divine magic once they progress far enough with the transformation.
>>
>>53915000
There's only one full dragon in the world. He's that powerful that he's able to keep Sauron-expie imprisoned in null-space. He does this by taking the life energy from thousands of slaves every year to fuel the magic to keep the gate closed.

Physically and magically he's biggest threat. So yeah, being a full dragon is probably biggest damn thing in the setting outside of the immortal-Sauron-expie who's so powerful that he can only be imprisoned.

>>53914629
Fucked things up? Or won them the war? Their goal all along was to destroy the Burning Legion. Stopping Kil'Jaeden was like knocking off a single piece in cosmic chess. He was the Legion's Rook, he wasn't their King piece.

Plus they just took down Kil'Jaeden he was biggest thing besides Sargeras still around. Illidari have taken many demon worlds by themselves, Argus would just be the grand prize. This time they'll have the entire Army of Light & Grand Council + all the armies of Azeroth.
>>
>>53915000
Just be a dragon in another D&D setting, they get magic that isn't shit. The sorcerer kings are just Wizard/Psion hybrids that can eventually become worse dragons.

Be a Psion, get arcane magic from another D&D setting, and become a dragon elsewhere and you are better off than a sorcerer monarch.

So quick question about the Type Moon Universe, just in case Val is on. Can a person, using a homunculus (Type Moon) or chemicaloid (A Certain Railgun) as a body could a person viably use Familiar contract magic to make a Ghost Liner, the type of Familar that Servants fall under? Granted this is just to do like Rin did with Saber and we'll need some way to get enough Prana to support the contract.

Basically, if you don't take the continuity option and then one of the other Infernals in the jump manages to convince a Yozi to teach them their Charms (which strikes me as unlikely, but possible)...

Then you (and companion Infernals) wouldn't automatically get access, because you're not one of that world's 50 Infernals. Same way they don't get access to everything you've unlocked in previous jumps without continuity.

You'd still be able to get the Charmsets unlocked for yourself by convincing a Yozi to teach them to you though.

Does that make sense?

>So, why do people play Dwarf Fortress or E.V.E.?
People play Dwarf Fortress because when you lose, you lose in interesting ways. "Some asshole necromancer just cursed you with being unable to respawn" is not interesting, because it keeps you from playing the game at all. At least with Dwarf Fortress you can start another fortress when you lose.

People play E.V.E because they're broken little men who have forgotten what fun is. I have no justification for them, no one does. No sane person plays Space Accountant Simulator 2015, and to try to understand their madness risks infecting you.

Not really, no. They also wouldn't be able experience the metaphysical changes either. If you went there, you should be able to, though, because the Yozi are still there. Or otherwise you shouldn't be able to learn them at all. Maybe if it happened before you entered the jump, but otherwise it makes no sense.

Kamen Rider jumps in general. I absolutely adore a good chunk of the canon and it gives you a lot of early solutions to problems you'll run into in low-to-mid danger jumps. Except it's also pretty damn dangerous for an ordinary person and you yourself don't come with plot armor the protagonists can have at times. So I like to have a jump or two of mundane combat experience before going for it.

Besides, I ended up eating my words on Kamen Rider being a good first jump series when Ex-Aid's midgame happened. Dear fucking god.

Hm. I was thinking they'd basically work on two seperate 'networks' of Infernals, since they're seperate continuities, with no crossover between the two.

Otherwise them not getting access to Yozi charmset you'd unlocked before makes no sense, since if it's open to one Infernal, it's open to all of them. They'd get access the moment the jump starts then.

I'm not sure what metaphysical changes you're talking about?

World used to be a pretty nice place.
Intelligent life evolved, hobbits.
Other intelligent life came later, most descended from the hobbits.
One racist fuck thought all the worlds ills were caused by the degeneration of hobbits to the impure other races. Standard supergenius villain, made discoveries ahead of his time, etc. Specifically magic (the ancient Hobbits tech was based on biotech instead)
He taught magic. Publically, regular safe magic (preserving magic) In secret he gathered students who agreed with him about how things would be better if all those corrupt races would just die in a fire or something. He taught them a method of magic that grew in power faster, but was harmful to the environment. (Defiling magic) These students were his 12 champions. They grew in power, & eventually gathered followers when they were powerful enough, starting on campaigns of genocide. And also taught some of their followers the quick, destructive way.
The planet went to shit. Along the way they betrayed the dumbass who started all this, because they would rather use their power to become kings than continue his death crusade.

Depends on what options you take for it.
They can make you better at blocking attacks, including magic - as in, don't get thrown around like a ragdoll, heal when you block, reflect attacks and so on.
They function as a magical focus and can amplify magic power and mana regeneration.
They can increase your loot, increase your strength, increase the effect of your healing items, increase your durability, increase the power of your summons or make your healing spells uninterruptable.

And they're really good weapons of course.

>if it's open to one Infernal, it's open to all of them.
That's assuming that an Infernal having access to a Charmsets is what matters, rather than the Yozi not being able to grant access any other way. After all, Akuma can use Yozi Charmsets on their own, without them being granted. Like, that assumes that every Infernal broadcasts their Charmsets to any other and that just seems silly to me. It was also something that was modified, not part of the base. You have all the prerequisites, they just came from somewhere else. They're functionally and metaphysically identical, sou should receive access, but they're still locked to everyone else. Like, if Scarlet Witch said "No More Mutants" before a jump and you later entered as a Mutant., you shouldn't be affected. If she said it during the jump you should. Likewise, if you were affected, and then entered another reality where she didn't, then you should still be affected... but no one else in that world would be, because that would make no sense.

Pretty sure that's setting specific, so i didn't count it.
But they're strong enough even without that, especially if you factor in that the Wielder tree has some pretty good perks anyway.

You can get a magic boost, mental defence, a charisma perk and the capstone grants light attacks, shields, teleportation, buffing allies, increasing your allies morale and lower that of your foes and cleanses corruption and taint.

According to the wiki the world was shit because megacorporations took over.

in: Overlord Wiki
World of 2138

Table of Contents
The World of 2138 refers to the name of the world in which the main protagonist of Overlord, Suzuki Satoru, or commonly known Ainz Ooal Gown originated from. The setting takes place in the real world but a hundred years into the far future.
Environment

In the World of 2138, the destruction of the environment had continued at ever-increasing speed to the point where the surface of the Earth was hopelessly polluted; gorgeous nature existed only in video games. The sky was always hidden behind black smog, the sun making only brief appearances. Thick, toxic fog frequently covered the cities, so almost no one went out without a gas mask. Since the plants that would have converted carbon dioxide to oxygen and absorbed nitrogen oxide had all withered due to a dearth of sun, the atmospheric pollution only worsened. As the number of plants decreased, the populations of birds and insects that ate their leaves and fruit dropped as well.

Of course, the pollution extended to the water as well, and all the rivers turned horrible colors and ran murky. The pollution was so bad that water purification systems ceased to function, so even tap water had to be passed through a filter before it could be drunk.

The practice of traditional farming, which depended on rainwater and sunlight, declined, and all vegetables and grains were cultivated in domes. The price of food inevitably soared, and raw fruits and vegetables became luxury goods that ordinary people couldn't get their hands on.

>so becoming a sorcerer apprentice isnt going to make me any friends I take it?
>>53915109
>No. It will make every druid want to kill you.
>It'll also make every other arcane caster want to kill you because plant life is limited and they don't want to share.
Actually, there is a 7th or 8th level arcane spell that can create a Tree of Life. This is a tree that can absorb the damage defiling spells in a fairly wide area onto themselves instead of damaging the environment. And they regenerate the damage and last forever unless they absorb so much at once it destroys them. The Tyrant-Kings have entire groves of them in their palaces. So the world could be recovering by having high level arcane casters making those all over the place. But since the highest level wizards are capital E Evil, and having the rest of the world outside their little city states benefits them...

But if you were already powerful entering the jump you could go to some nowhere place far away from their kingdoms and build up power to make the world a better place.

In the Shadow Realm, I ended up uniting a loose coalition of the survivors to both Dragon clans, warriors, and mages to push back both anarchy and a gigantic army from hell. I couldn't ultimately save the world, but I managed to set it on the road to recovery without it being too dependent on my presence.

I haven't been to Yu-Gi-Oh yet, but I took one of the Blue-Eyes White Dragons as a companion, and she's the only remaining member of my original party. I'm going to bring her along to the nearest tournament, replicate the necessary cards to give her a 'modern' (read: broken OTK horseshit) Blue-Eyes deck, and then watch Kaiba have a stroke.

Overlord. I like to get up to lots of cool shit there and it's where I get a powerful custom companion, but I like having OOC stuff as a back up.

Hmmm... I personally disagree, but have no further arguments beyond what I already posited. So, in an effort not to make this a circular discussion...

I'll just say people can go with either interpretation, depending on which makes sense to them?

If you can learn how to do it, the locking/unlocking hearts would work anywhere, just like powers that affect souls assume souls for humans in other settings even if there is no proof.

The world locking/unlocking is based on the keyblade being a metaphorical key. It can work in other jumps if there is a system in place that can be locked. Your general space opera doesn't have that. But Dresdenverse does, with the outer gales being a thing.
MMO with one universal world you can traverse on foot wouldn't. But one with realms you need to need portals visit could be locked.

Haven't been to the actual Yu-Gi-Oh jump yet, but in Shadow Realm I spent my time fighting the Blue-Eyes White Dragon Clan, having taken the drawback where they won the war. I eventually succeeded in beating them, only to have to deal with the Red-Eyes Archfiends rampaging around. In The Heroes, I was a kid hero who had to earn respect from everyone. Luckily, I had the chance to thanks to the Worms, the Aliens, the Kaijus, and Yubel all deciding to attack at the same time! By the time that was done, I had become a major hero to the populace. I also got stuck with a yandere monster girl, but that's a plus...I think.

Blue, I never have over the years I've been here. Likely will not do so in the future outside of a rollchain and bad luck. The whole place is bat country between children's card games dominating 80% of the world's economy, ancient egyptian black magic, and bad touch lovecraft dimensions. I can't really think of anything I would do there beyond avoiding the game to be a hikkineet. I could troll people by telekinesis crushing people's cards/decks or using illusion magic to mess with them but then I would have sunk to their level.

Probably make a board game to rival it then hate myself and my creation forever. Only to then have it follow me in future jumps as an eternal shame. Or just go through the library of eternity until the shot clock on the jump goes out while wrapped up in a futon bedding.

The yozi themselves can steal each others charms and modify them to their own themes without permission from the creating Yozi. That is the default.
The Solar Exaltations are basically running a version of Yozi OS to even work as Infernals at all. I think a Yozi teaching one of the Green Suns his charms does a kind of system update across the shinma, where if he is able to learn this charm, he can learn all of that yozi's charms, and since all green suns princes operating the same way, internal consistence means they can as well. This Promordials aren't raksha, after all.

Basically, once a Primordial (who is his all of his charms in their entirety) teaches a Green Sun a charm of his, his charm structure recognizes all Green Sun Princes as fellow Primordials, with all due rights.

Despite being about card games

That being said want to talk about how a VR MMO company is reliant on a bizarre cyber universe a CYVERSE even made of AI to keep their game working

Only actual Yozi can learn and modify each others charms like that though, and it's further implied that they do need permission (or at least teaching) to do so with the mentions of Cecelyne and the Ebon Dragon teaching the others their stuff.

And Infernals don't learn Yozi charms like Yozis do, they don't have to (nor can they) adapt their charms for one, and they get access to all the Yozi's charms instead of just those that also fit them for another.

It's an interesting theory, but not really supported by much as far as I can see.
