Having played in both, definitely female DM. At least as far as I've seen, female DMs' magical realms tend to be developed to a greater level of complexity, giving them room to accommodate players' interests as well. Sure, there's homoerotic subtext and one of the players is blatantly using the game as inspiration for sexual roleplay with her husband, but I get my devoted waifu NPC and dominance fetish kicks as well, and everyone ends up having fun once you get past the initial awkward stage.

By comparison, the few magical realm games I've played in that were run by guys were focused entirely on the DM's gratification and used player characters as set-pieces for fulfilling singular personal fantasies to the exclusion of all else. Ultimately, if anyone is getting off on the content, the only way to make it not horrifically uncomfortable is to make sure to include everybody's fetishes to some extent.

This is rough, especially since I can't know what sort of magical realm I'm getting into.

If it's something of my tastes, I'd rather female. Because I am in my heart of hearts a lewd, lonely fuck, and the idea of a female liking something that I also like makes it hotter. Even if it makes for a sucky game, it's something I can go ahead and drown my shame in.

If it's not something of my tastes, I'd rather a guy, because they'll just stick the fetish up like a post that I can walk around, instead of trying to make it intrinsic to the story or anything. If the game is sucky, I can just leave.

Under the stipulation that I have to stay for 5 3-hour sessions, I'll go female. If I play a male character with a male DM, chances of my character getting tentacled or other unpleasantness are greatly reduced. If I make my character female with a male DM, things will go wrong almost immediately, and it will either get far worse or far better if I make her a lesbian.
If I play a male character with a female DM gay shit will happen. If I make the character female she may start throwing cute boys/men at the character. Don't know what happens if I make the character a lesbian.
Again, it's too DM dependant to tell with precision.

Assuming that (which is very well possible), how much of a height difference can the power suit really make? 5 cm difference would be pushing it, and even then at 185cm she'd be slightly taller than the average Dutch male (the tallest in the world). I imagine thearmor would make more of a difference in terms of weight but probably not spectacularly so (especially because if her armor really weighed something like 50kg, we would end up with a very underweight Samus).

One of my weekly games is pretty magical realm. In my experience it hasn't mattered, and a man and a woman even switch off running the game, they're both good.

The group is 3 couples who play together. Sometimes it's the 6 of us and a girl GM's, sometimes if he's free we have a 7th friend who GM's when he can.

We have a pretty standard plot about competing kingdoms on the cusp of war, and the various quests we do deal with stopping the cold war from going hot, and the bad guys are various people who would profit from war who try to instigate it with false flag type stuff. But anyway, we each basically have our own subplots dealing with our significant others that are pretty fetish-y. But it's plot related so it's the best kind of fetish-y!

I think magical realm type stuff being good or bad is more about if everyone is included, as others have said. If it's a self gratification type thing where everyone is ignored, or worse, at others' expense, then it's bad. If it's a group of people who all consent to magical realm beforehand then it's great fun.

I recently started putting together rules for something like a horrifying cross of a children's card game deck and a deck of many things that plays to magical realm. It summons monsters and characters that will try to fuck whatever the person summoning them points them at, can transform people into fairly defenseless forms to make them easier targets, and changes hands a lot. Now, given, a lot of the changing of hands for it is because it's an artifact of the demigod of lust and depravity and designed to spread it around as much as possible, but some of it's because people get it and misuse it, and it doesn't like being misused. As in, "the damned thing will trap you inside itself, warping you into something else to turn someone into for misusing it." The last guy, as far as I've postulated about it, is going to have been the that guy of his group, having tried to grab it while everyone else in his group debated on how to destroy it, and getting killed for even thinking about being the kind of person that would use a deck of rape all the things. Before that was a merchant that wanted to become the new god of lust and depravity, thinking the old one dead for reasons that amounted to, "I'm great, why can't I get laid." He lost a, "match," as far as the deck was concerned, by getting cornered by the people he was using it on and surrendering.

There's only one bestiality rule - a non-sapient animal or other being can't be seduced. It's just that D&D has a lot of spells that interact with non-sapient animals or turn you into an animal that's still sapient, so it's something that bore repeating or clarifying in those instances (particularly when you can have spells that grant animal sapience).

Likewise, there's just the one rule for lolis - a sexually immature person can't be seduced. D&D does not, however, generally have spells that interact with age, so it wasn't repeated as often. I guess you could probably use polymorph or the like to alter someone's physical age, but I just don't want to deal with that in any detail.

It's all about execution. And matching up with my own realm, gender isn't always a factor on that.

So if I'm forced to roleplay the Whizzard for 15 hours of my life, why not try to get something out of it? 1) the GM's personality,
2) the GM's GMing style
3) what their magical realm consists of,
4) what my role in it is, and...
5) with whom I must share the experience.

Assuming our magical realms align in either case, my participation as an object of fetishization or as a stand-in for the GM makes all the difference. I'll take being the object of a woman's over being the object of a man's, and stand in for a man over stand in for a woman. but between object of a woman's and stand-in for a man's it'll depend on how fully saturated the harmonic convergence of magical realms really is.
